Our take on this /// Verdict
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 S is a masterpiece that combines raw power, advanced electronics, and impeccable handling, making it a dream machine for any serious motorcycle enthusiast. The Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine, with its 208 horsepower, is a marvel of engineering, offering a riding experience that is both exhilarating and manageable thanks to its multiple power modes and electronic aids like traction control, cornering ABS, and wheelie control. The Ohlins semi-active suspension is a highlight, providing exceptional comfort and stability on both rough Indian roads and the track. While it comes with a hefty price tag of Rs 28 lakh ex-showroom, the sheer joy and confidence it offers make it well worth the investment. However, its crucial to note that this bike is not for the faint of heart it demands respect and skill to fully appreciate its capabilities.
Price
The Ducati Streetfighter V4 S is priced at Rs 28 lakh ex-showroom in India, which is undoubtedly on the higher side due to the countrys stringent taxation on high-performance motorcycles. However, when you factor in the top-tier components like the Ohlins suspension, Marchesini forged wheels, and the advanced electronic suite, it becomes clear that youre paying for premium quality. The on-road price can vary depending on the state and local taxes, but expect it to be around Rs 32-35 lakh. While this is a significant investment, for those who can afford it, the Streetfighter V4 S offers an unparalleled riding experience that justifies the cost.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 05:38 PM Mileage is not typically a primary concern for buyers of high-performance motorcycles like the Ducati Streetfighter V4 S. However, its worth noting that this bike is designed for performance rather than fuel efficiency. With its powerful V4 engine, you can expect mileage to be around 8-12 kml, depending on how aggressively you ride. Given the bikes nature, running costs will be higher, especially considering the need for high-octane fuel (95 octane or above). If youre concerned about mileage, this might not be the best choice, but for those seeking raw power and exhilaration, the trade-off is well worth it.

Ducati Streetfighter S Review

30 Dec, 2015 04:33 AM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Ducati launched Streetfighter S, a premium naked bike around four years ago and it straightaway won hearts of many people globally. The bike is a very successful model of Ducati and we try to figure out more about this sport bike

Design and Style

The bike has an appealing look which can grab your attention easily. It doesn’t look like any regular naked bike as it has Ducati’s unique sense of styling. The face of the bike makes it an attention seeker as it features a sharp body colored front cowl which houses its headlight. The headlight comes with twin LED strips which are placed deep on its both sides. Its pointed clear lens indicators complement the front styling of this bike. The golden finished elongated front forks of this bike give it a premium look while its front tyre and fender adds macho character to this bike. It has a fiber made engine cowl which gels well with its black colored engine and red painted steel trellis frame. Ducati has equipped this bike with split seats and a full size fuel tank. This fuel tank gives this bike a bold look when seen from either side. Its unique set of mufflers and tall positioned rear cowl enhance the sporty look of this bike. Streetfighter S features a LED tail light with looks explicit with side indicators on its extended fender. Its five spoke alloy wheels and rear broad tyre gives it an impressive posture.

Instrument Console

A big yellow colored LCD can be seen in the instrument console of Streetfighter S. All essential indicators which inform the rider are placed on the top of this dashboard. This LCD displays digital speedometer, odometer, trip meter, tachometer and fuel gauge. Other features of this instrument console include lap timer, clock, DTC level and DDA ready. This instrument console can be operated by the buttons placed on the switchgear.

Engine and Gearbox

Ducati introduced a new L-twin cylinder, 8 valves 1099cc engine in this bike. The power and torque output of this liquid cooled engine arrives at 9500 rpm respectively. It produces a peak power of 155 bhp while its torque output is of 115 Nm. This engine is mated with a six-speed manual gearbox. It has one gear down and five gears up-shift pattern.

Acceleration and Performance

It’s a very refined and powerful engine which shows no sign of vibration and harshness at any rpm. This engine gets its power and torque at early rpms which make this bike a ripper. The bike is a blast in its mid-range and performs really well between 3000-8000rpm mark. The six-speed gearbox works effectively and feels well matched with this engine. It reaches 0-100km/hr in less than 3.5 seconds. The bike requires a little wrist movement to go pass the speed of 150km/hr. It has a magnificent throttle response which keeps on improving as you speed up. The power delivery is quite linear so you get complete control over this bike. If you want to rev this bike hard then get ready to go pass the speed of 250km/hr. It never restricts you while you try to push this bike to its limits. The bike has short gear ratios which always keep you on your toes while you drive it in city traffic. The bike should be tested on highways as then only you will come to see the actual power of this Ducati engine.

Mileage

The bike may return you an overall fuel efficiency of around 15km/ltr.

Comfort While Driving

The bike has generous space which gives you optimum comfort while driving. The rear set foot pegs of this bike helps you to place your knees around its fuel tank which gives you control over this bike. You have to bend forward to reach the handle bar of this bike which offers good palm grip and also gives nice angle to your elbows. The road visibility is quite clear when you sit on Streetfighter which helps you a lot while using it in city traffic. The seating comfort is certainly not the best but it can’t be criticized either.

Storage Space and Safety Features

There is no storage space in this bike. Its safety features include pass button and powerful headlight which gives you bright vision at night.

Suspension and Brakes

Ducati has equipped this bike with fully adjustable front and rear suspension system. The bike has telescopic forks of 43mm at its front and Pro link with Ohlin’s monoshock at the back. It has a very powerful braking system which includes twin disc brakes of 330mm, radial mounted 4-piston calliper at its front and single rear disc brake of 245mm with 2-piston calliper.

Ride and Handling

Ducati offers this bike with DTC (Traction control) which allows you to choose from variable settings which affects the ride quality of this bike. It gives you light and responsive handling in city as well on highways. Changing lanes frequently at high speeds is really fun with this bike. Its advanced suspension and braking system gives you immense control over this bike. The broad tyres of this bike are capable enough to stick firmly to the road. It has a wheelbase of 1475mm which gives it stability around corners. The high ground clearance of this bike makes sure that bike performs well off road. The light frame of this bike gives you impressive handling and riding comfort.

Tyre Size, Shades and Variants

Streetfighter S has R17 sizes of tyres. The only variant of this bike is available in two different shades.

Verdict

Streetfighter S offers destructive looks and performance. Its refined engine is full of surprises and to experience it, you will have to buy this expensive bike. Ducati has positioned this bike below Multistrada and it is priced at INR 22.81 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Being a Ducati bike, it tends to be expensive and that should not be a major concern for you but what may bother you; is the high level of resemblance of this bike with its much cheaper sibling, Streetfighter 848.
