The 2025 BMW S 1000 R has undergone a significant aesthetic update, ditching its characteristic single headlight for a new dual headlight assembly that gives the bike a more aggressive and purposeful look. This design change aligns the S 1000 R more closely with its sportier siblings, the S 1000 RR and M 1000 R. The new nose fairing also includes a small air intake between the lights, potentially integrating into the frame’s intake system. BMW Motorrad has updated the S 1000 R for 2025 with several technical enhancements, including a more powerful inline-four engine that now produces 168 horsepower, a 5 horsepower increase over the previous model. The bike also features a shorter final drive ratio, which enhances sprint performance, and the standard Shift Assistant Pro has been optimized for smoother gear changes. Additionally, the traction control DTC has been revised to match the improvements seen in the M 1000 RR. BMW Motorrad has enhanced the standard features of the S 1000 R, including the addition of a dual-flow LED headlight, engine drag torque control (MSR) with configurable ‘Engine Brake’, and a USB-C port under the seat. The bike is available in three color schemes, including the base variant in Blackstorm metallic, the Sport model in Bluefire/Mugiallo Yellow, and the M package in Lightwhite uni/M Motorsport.
