What is the maintenance schedule for the Aprilia RS 457, and are there any specific maintenance requirements for its high-performance parts?
17 April 2025 10:15

The maintenance schedule for the Aprilia RS 457 involves regular services at specific intervals. The first service is typically due at 1,000 km, the second service at 6,000 km, and subsequent services every 6,000 km or 6 months, whichever comes first. Key maintenance tasks include changing the engine oil and oil filter, lubricating and adjusting the chain, and replacing the air filter if it is dirty. Let’s see how the Aprilia SXR 125 fares against electric scooters on running costs and performance.
16 January 2025 11:18
I regret not going electric. I was a bit disappointed by the fuel costs of the SXR 125, particularly as fuel prices seem to be going up. An Ather would have been more economical in the long run.
How does the Aprilia SXR 125 fare in Bangalore's notorious traffic?
16 January 2025 11:18
For its size, it’s amazingly agile! I was worried about the maxi scooters dimensions, but it weaves through traffic like a champ. You get a great view of the road ahead because you are sitting higher.
How does the Aprilia SXR 125’s suspension tackle Indian road conditions?
16 January 2025 11:18
It's been pretty capable, I've found. The ride is smoothed out by the larger wheels, and it soaks up small bumps well. It is definitely more planted than my old Activa.
Is the Aprilia SXR 125 a reliable long distance tourer?
16 January 2025 11:18
The SXR 125 has been a blast, I've done a few 300km round trips on it. Good wind protection, comfortable seating and enough pep for highway cruising. All you need to do is pack lightly and plan your fuel stop.
At Rs 1.26 lakh (ex showroom, New Delhi) does the Aprilia SXR 125 justify the premium price tag?
16 January 2025 11:18
That depends on what you’re looking for. If you want something different and are willing to spend a bit extra on it, go right ahead. However, if practicality is what you’re after, there are better options.
Is the Aprilia SXR 160 a bike for new riders, or is it too powerful for beginners?
16 January 2025 11:13
In my opinion it is overkill for a new rider. The cost, not just for the power, but for the power. So is it really worth risking dropping an expensive scooter and potentially damaging it when you still learning? Start cheap, then upgrade.
Let’s find out how the Aprilia SXR 160 fares against the other maxi scooters in the Indian market.
16 January 2025 11:13
It is really showing now that there are no updates. The SXR - engine, chassis, comfort - is still solid at its core, but it's lost a lot of the features that have become standard on newer maxi-scooters. The truth is it needs a serious refresh to stay competitive.
So, how well does the Aprilia SXR 160 perform as a daily commuter in increasingly traffic dense Indian cities?
16 January 2025 11:13
While the SXR is not a bike for me to take out for a long ride, I love my SXR for commuting in Delhi. The bigger wheels take the hit out of potholes better than smaller scooters, and the comfy seat takes the edge off traffic on long rides. It could be more fuel efficient though.
There are many issues with the Aprilia SXR 160; are they resolved or still prevalent?
16 January 2025 11:13
It’s better, but not quite as good as Japanese reliability. Nothing major, just a few minor electrical issues here and there, but nothing that left me stranded. Parts availability has improved the most since launch, it’s much better now.
Is the Aprilia SXR 160 dated in 2025, and is it still worth buying?
16 January 2025 11:13
In 2025, I honestly believe the SXR 160 is still a good option. Sure, it’s not the flashiest option out there, but there’s just something timeless about Italian design that doesn’t go out of style. Plus, Aprilia has been nice and good about rolling out small updates to keep it competitive.
How does the Aprilia STX 160 performance compares to its fuel efficiency?
16 January 2025 08:20
The fuel efficiency for its size has been surprisingly good. Not as frugal as a 125cc, but the extra performance for the little bit extra fuel consumption is worth it.
On long rides, how does the Aprilia STX 160 fare in terms of comfort, compared to daily commutes?
16 January 2025 08:20
It’s a nice comfortable bike, but it’s no touring bike. Urban rides with occasional longer trips are really what it’s best suited for, not dedicated touring.
