On long rides, how does the Aprilia STX 160 fare in terms of comfort, compared to daily commutes?

Scooter riders who ride their vehicles for quick trips around town or long weekend rides are all aiming for comfort. Compared to the Aprilia STX 160, which is a premium scooter, the rider comfort expectations are very high. Compared to standard scooters, it’s bigger in size, which should translate into additional stability and a more relaxed riding position. But other riders have said the seat comfort and suspension stiffness are not great on longer trips. Ergonomics, wind protection and vibration levels are all factors that contribute to comfort on different type of rides on the scooter. This can help potential buyers to find out if STX 160 has the capability to fit into their needs which covers daily commuting and occasional longer trips.

It’s super comfortable for a daily commute. The seat is a bit hard on longer rides, however. For touring, I would recommend an aftermarket seat.

I like it for both short and long rides. On highways, the upright position and good wind protection make a big difference.

The suspension is too stiff for long rides, but it’s great for commuting. After a couple of hours my back starts to ache.

The scooter has a top notch comfort level. I have done 300km days with no problem. It’s about taking small breaks.

It’s fine for daily commutes, but not for long distance comfort. Touring is lacking adjustable suspension.

For longer rides I actually prefer it. It is more comfortable than small scooters on highways because of its stability at higher speeds.

The weak point is the stock seat. After upgrading to a gel seat, it’s comfortable for short and long rides alike.

It's a mixed bag. Great in cities but the vibrations start coming through more in longer highway stretches.

For rides up to about 2 hours it is perfectly comfortable. That, however, is where you begin to understand the limitations of a scooter platform.

It’s a nice comfortable bike, but it’s no touring bike. Urban rides with occasional longer trips are really what it’s best suited for, not dedicated touring.
