Bajaj Pulsar N250 Review
Detailed Review by Maxabout Team
Overview
The journey of Bajaj Pulsar is 20 years old and during this journey, Pulsar has always distinguished itself among the people. The round light Pulsar started in 2001 at 180 which has now reached the Pulsar F250 and Pulsar N250 in 2021. In these 20 years, the Pulsar brand has expanded its reign from 125cc to 250cc segment.
On October 28 last year, Pulsar completed its 20 years and on this occasion, Bajaj launched two new 250cc bikes in the Pulsar series in the Indian market. Bajaj Pulsar is listed among the five most influential bikes in modern Indian history.
The original Pulsars were game-changers that let Bajaj stand where the company is today, as a global motorcycle giant. Twenty years after the originals, today’s new Pulsars aim to change the game rather than enrich and enhance what the Pulsar has to offer.
Design and Style of Bajaj Pulsar N250
The new motorcycle features a completely fresh design with plenty of things resembling the existing Pulsar lineup. The differences between the naked N250 and the semi-faired F250 are clearly in the front. Both bikes share the same fuel tanks, side profile and tail section. The rear looks smart with a large split seat, a nice curve to the body panels as they meet the model version of the Classic Pulsar tail-lamp.
Over at the front, both use the same projector LED headlamps but they get different running lamps. They both rather are nice looking machines although they are not super attention-grabbing. The New Pulsar N250 looks more youthful and sporty. It has a position headlamp with a bi-functional LED headlamp. It features a slim LED taillight, speedometer with digital display and a trip meter.
Engine and Gearbox of Bajaj Pulsar N250
New Bajaj Pulsar N250 has a 249.07cc oil-cooled, 2-valve engine that churns out 24.5 HP power at 8750 rpm and 21.5 Nm of top torque at 6500 rpm. Apart from that, the 249.07cc engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. A 14-litre fuel tank has been installed in the Bajaj Pulsar N250.
Instrument Console of Bajaj Pulsar N250
2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 is equipped with a new instrument console that remains simple but looks classy with its analogue rev counter. The digital part of this new display now has useful things like a clock, a gear position indicator and a distance-to-empty gauge.
Brakes, Suspension and Tyres of Bajaj Pulsar N250
The wet weight of the new Bajaj Pulsar N250 is 162 kg. The length of this bike is 2035mm, width is 750mm, height is 1165mm and wheelbase is 1351mm. It has a ground clearance of 165mm and a seat height of 795mm. The front of the Bajaj Pulsar N250 has telescopic forks and rear has monoshock Nitrox suspension. Coming to the brake, it has single-channel ABS with a disc brake of 300mm in front and 230mm at the back. The Bajaj Pulsar N250 is fitted with a tubeless tyre of 100/80 at the front end and 130/70 at the back, along with 17-inch alloy wheels.
Key Features of Bajaj Pulsar N250
Some of the key 2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 features include: Bi-functional LED Projector Headlamp, Assist and Slipper Clutch, Infinity Display Console, USB Mobile Charging Near the Tank Flap, Gear Position Indicator, Distance to Empty, Nitrox Suspension, Tubular Frame, Boomerang LED DRLs.
Top Speed and Mileage of Bajaj Pulsar N250
With its assist and slipper clutch and easily accessible performance, the New Pulsar N250 offers approx 130 kmph of top speed. As for fuel efficiency, the Pulsar 250 has an ARAI certified number of 35 kmpl and it goes from 0-100 kmph in around 10.5 seconds.
Colour Options of Bajaj Pulsar N250
The New Bajaj Pulsar N250 is available in three colour options Racing Red, Caribbean Blue, Techno Gray and all colours look awesome in their way.
On-Road Price Range of Bajaj Pulsar N250 in India
2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 on-road price is Rs 1.62 lakh in Delhi, Rs 1.67 lakh in Mumbai, Rs 1.64 lakh in Kolkata and Rs 1.66 lakh in Chennai. The prices mentioned here are approximate and we suggest you contact your nearest Bajaj dealership to get the exact on-road price quote in your city.
Difference Between Ex-Showroom Price & On-Road Price of Bajaj Pulsar N250
Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentages for the State Registration Charges.
Competitors of Bajaj Pulsar N250
The all-new 2024 Bajaj Pulsar 250 is in the race for power with Suzuki Gixxer 250, Yamaha FZS 250, Bajaj Dominar 250, Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, Husqvarna Vitpilen 250, KTM Duke 250.
Verdict- Should You Buy Bajaj Pulsar N250?
2024 Bajaj Pulsar N250 looks like a comfortable city bike and runs quite well in the mid-range rpm level. However, N250 seems a little less flamboyant than the Pulsar F250. The engine response of both bikes at 4,000 to 7,000 rpm is excellent and looks quite responsive. From low speed to high speed, gear ratios are also excellent and the absence of 6th gear cannot be sensed in the N250. Even though the speed of N250 is lower than that of the F250 but overall, it offers you stable and accurate handling on highways and good roads. However, the dynamics of bikes at sharp corners will make you happy and it is one of the good options to consider if you are planning to buy a 250cc naked motorcycle for routine commuting.
FAQs
-
Does the Pulsar N250 live up to the legacy of the Pulsar 220F?
30 January 2025 09:34The N250 is the bike for now, but the 220F was ahead of its time. It's more practical for daily use than the 710 because it is better efficient, has subtle smoother engine and is modernized.
-
How does the Pulsar N250’s engine refinement compare to its Japanese rivals?
30 January 2025 09:34I'd say it's pretty close. This engine is really something that Bajaj has turned up a notch or two. It's smooth enough to ride day to day, and it doesn't feel buzzy like older models.
-
So, does the Pulsar N250's LED headlight live up to the hype in real world conditions?
30 January 2025 09:34I also added auxiliary lights to go along with the stock LED. Together, they're awesome. The stock light is just alright, not game changing stuff.
-
Is the 2 channel ABS on the Pulsar N250 overkill for a 250cc bike?
30 January 2025 09:34No, not overkill at all. It doesn't matter what engine size, safety should never be compromised. With the 2 channel ABS you have that extra bit of confidence when the emergency situation comes up or in wet conditions.
-
Does the extra weight of the N250 make it less agile than the NS200?
30 January 2025 09:34I was worried about the weight coming from the NS200 but after a few rides you get used to it. The N250 doesn’t feel cumbersome, but it does feel more substantial.
-
Can the Pulsar N250 be modified and customized well?
30 January 2025 09:32The mod options are a little disappointing, to be honest. Perhaps because it's still a relatively new bike, but I'm not seeing the same aftermarket support that older Pulsars were enjoying. As a result, it feels like we're limited in what we can do, particularly performance wise.
-
Is the Pulsar N250 a good touring motorcycle?
30 January 2025 09:32It’s a compromise, let’s be real. As far as weekend getaways and short tours go, it’s good enough, but if you are serious about long distance riding, you’d be better off with something like the Dominar 400. What the N250 just doesn’t have is the extra oomph and features for hardcore touring.
-
How does the Pulsar N250 handle compared to its competitors?
30 January 2025 09:32As the N250 came from a KTM Duke 200, I was expecting to be disappointed with the handling. But I was pleasantly surprised. It's not as razor sharp as the Duke, but it's easier to live with day to day and is more forgiving.
-
Does the Pulsar N250 deliver on Bajaj’s promise of improved refinement?
30 January 2025 09:32Face it, "refinement" is as subjective as it gets. The N250 will feel super smooth for some. For others, it will be too rough still. It’s really subjective, depending on what you’re comparing it to and what your expectations are. For the price point, I've refined it enough in my book.
-
Is the Bajaj Pulsar N250 really all it’s hyped up to be?
30 January 2025 09:32In reality, the real value of the N250 lies in its reliability and its very low maintenance costs. Now, it may not be the most exciting bike out there, but it's definitely a good solid workhorse for getting the job done and not letting you down. Sometimes, outright performance is more important, but sometimes that’s more important.

User Reviews for Bajaj Pulsar
Bajaj Pulsar 125 Split Seat Drum
Honestly, the Pulsar 125 Split Seat feels like a younger sibling of the classic Pulsar. The styling is sharp, and it’s comfortable for both rider and pillion. But I wish it had a bit more torque for quicker overtakes. For daily use, though the mileage and build make it a great pick.
Bajaj Pulsar N150
The Bajaj Pulsar N150 strikes a balance between performance and practicality. Its 149.68cc engine delivers adequate power for urban commutes. The lightweight chassis enhances maneuverability, while the semi-digital console adds a modern touch. However, the lack of a rear disc brake is noticeable during hard braking.
Reasonable bike with easy commuting
TVS XL 100 is a per bike for those who have tight budget. It come under 50k price and best suitable for daily commute. I bought this bike for my gardener who’s living with us for more than 20 years. He is really happy for this gift, now he can use this for his part time. The mileage is very sufficient of 50kmpl. The built up quality is strong and durable. However the pick up is the biggest drawback for TVS XL 100. I must say, apart from pick up everything is good to go. It has very low maintenance as well.
Capable For Carrying Heavy Loads
The TVS XL 100 is a good low-budget two-wheeler that has a 99.7 cc engine. It can support a good amount of weight.
it delivers excellent mileage up to 60–70 km, and the starting price is Rs. 31,079. The metal body of the scooter ensures its durability and stability, it is best for daily rides as it is affordable for poor people as well. It can carry huge loads since it has the energy efficiency and a sturdy load carrier. Its spare parts and other equipment have low prices which makes it more affordable and easy to maintain.
Review for NS200
Overall NS200 is the best bike in the World in this price range, other companies offer the best bikes like Duke 200, and Honda Hornet 2.0 but the price is high.
Best Features: Power of NS200
Pros: Power, Comfortable, Performance, Value for Money, Low Maintenance, Looks.
Cons: Weight, Mileage, Instrument Console.
