Hero Karizma ZMR V2 Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
Hero MotoCorp is one of the largest motorcycle manufacturing companies of India which has a lot of big names in its stable. Since, it has severed its ties with the Japanese partner Honda; Hero MotoCorp is facing a slight, if not big, technological crisis. So, they partnered with USA's Erik Buell Racing and also joined hands with Austria's AVL and Italy's Engine Engineering. Now recently, Hero MotoCorp unveiled 15 new upgraded and restyled products at a press conference in Gurgaon on October 10, 2013. One among them is Karizma ZMR, which always been a favourite among all the Hero bikes but hasn't changed much since its inception and thus needed a makeover.
2014 New Hero Karizma ZMR has bright twin headlights with day-time running lights, a full sporty cowling, ZMR written in a new pattern along with its PGM-FI decals, new nicely positioned handle bar, macho looking front fender, new cover for muffler, restyled fairing, bulb winkers, sporty seating, new race-inspired attractive belly pan, newer front and side fairing, 18-inch alloy wheels with wider tires and a classic tail light with clear blinkers. It has a self start option and a passenger footrest. The frame of Karizma ZMR is a tubular single cradle and diamond type chassis.
New Hero Karizma ZMR has a stunning and highly informative instrument console which consists of a digital fuel gauge, tachometer and speedometer, two digital trip meters and a low fuel and battery indicators.
2014 Hero Karizma ZMR has a kerb weight of 157 Kgs. On the other side, fuel tank has a good capacity of 15.30-litres.
The bike has an uprated 223cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, Full Transistorized Ignition System (DC-FTIS), fuel-injection, oil-cooler, OHC based engine with a maximum power of 20 BHP at 8000 rpm and a maximum torque of 19.7 NM at 6500 rpm, which is up by 1 Nm in comparison to the 2013 model of Karizma ZMR. The engine is mated to a five speed transmission.
The Karizma ZMR can cross the 0-60 kmph mark in just 3.6 seconds, which is quite remarkable. It can reach a top speed of 129 kmph. Overall, the performance of this bike is really amazing at city as well as at lung runs.
The motorcycle has 276mm disc brakes at front while 240mm disc brakes at rear. The suspension system consists of telescopic hydraulic shock absorbers at front and swing arm with adjustable type hydraulic shock absorber at rear.
2014 Hero Karizma ZMR has tyre size of 80/100 18-inch on the front while 120/80 18-inch is placed at the rear end. Both the wheels come equipped with matte-black alloys.
The Karizma ZMR is available in 4 color options: Red, Orange, Black, and White.
It also comes with a vehicle warranty of 5 years or 70,000kms and an Emission warranty of 3 years or 30,000kms.
New Hero Karizma ZMR is available for Rs. 1,02,000 (ex-showroom Pune) approx.

User Reviews for Hero Karizma
Last 9 Year From 2010
I have only pay for 3000/- maintenance cost from last 5 year and ZMR give a 35 - 40 mileage in city and 40 - 45 on Highway. I want to request to hero company to relaunch this model.
Best Features: Fuel injection system
Pros: looks and performance of this bike
Cons: Tyre width
Please re-launch v1 zmr stop that new v2 i hate lot
Please re-launch v1 zmr stop that new v2 i hate lot ...v1 is no words to explain... V1 was my childhood dream but now its not available ...that’s y i bought 2nd hand pls launch v1zmr
Best Features: Just awesome bike ..
Pros: I like looks of v1 zmr not new model v2
Cons: New model v2 zmr
Pathetic bike
Bought it in April 2015. I have changed many important parts that do not even need a replacement in bikes older than 10 years. Some have even been replaced for 3 times in these years.
Best Features: Nothing is best
Pros: I was hooked to those looks.
Cons: fuel pump, bad fuel injector, worst part availability.
Improvement advice
Hero should add a bigger tyre and engine kill switch to ZMR in 2018.
Best Features: Power
Pros: Power Delivery
Cons: Tyre Width
I am waiting for a relaunch
I want a bike with same design and accessories and its specification needs no change.
Best Features: Looks and riding feel
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing at all
Hero Karizma ZMR V2 Discussion
karizma new models had been failed because of theire unsuitability for normal riders. It was wrong idea of hero that such sporty bikes would boost sales figures in better way than old models.
karizma new is not suitable for 90% of normal drivers .because of that these sale figures have been fell is at closing stage.hero has become week after separated from honda in high cc guys dont keep expectactions on hero and go far other bikes .bajaz is giving good bikes at reasonable prices.
I own a zmr, and I must say I'm in love... Sure, it's not as fast as the cbr250 or a KTM. But I had the choice between the Duke, rc and zmr, and I chose it... It's very reliable, delivers great mileage and performance. The seating position is very comfortable and a bit aggressive at the same time. It's got a beautiful mid range acceleration. In fact, it could easily take on and beat any bike under 1.5 lakhs. But there are a few issues as well... The light is definitely very weak, and there is quite a bit of vibrations at higher rpms... And the soft suspension setup means its not chuckable into the corners as an rc... But great bike nonetheless... But a little extra power would have done no harm...
I suggest to helmet manufactures to provide light preventing pads to helmets for safe driving during night time.I wrote many times to provide lights at right side and back side of all 2 to 4 wheel vehicles to enlight the road at night when crossing.
Still using old OHC engine
Shud go with DOHC to have more better performance
Just raise the handle for Karizma R and make it sutable for long travels and see sales graph.New bike styling is very good but driving handle is worst since the driver(INDIANS) has to bend forward to hold the handle .And improve the remarks which are abserved by its buyers.Old is best
My Grand mom looks better than this bike.
Dumb looks ...
anyway Pulsar 200RS and KTM RC200 Stole the show already

It's better to buy p180,apache180 ,r15 & p220 can beat this shit in 4th gear.
OMG so ugly, so outdated, their R&D needs drastic transformation....looks might be subjective, but who cares if its shared by only a few people

Looks like a cheap chinese bike.
i love this bike
bajaj is succeeded in attracting the immature urban juveniles in india with some cheap gimmicks on their plastic junks. Their so called great modern technology were never helped the ultimate user/customer. if their tech were so great, they would have been the undisputed no1 t/w company in india. only media hype.
kill your designer hero.......people love lookz ..not pieces of plasticz.....plz dont continue production....begging you......you are giving EBR and AVL a lot of harassments :(
i love hero moto corp and zmr is looking nice but not power full plz first a fall upgrade 23- 25 hp and mono suspension .

This bike is so <<ugly>>.
they must launch the zmr with abs and projectors with extra power added to the name zmr.then it will rock seriously.

kya lekhte ho..chagaye guru
this bike has only 1 features that has not there in other bike.. the feature is the FAT AND FIBER BODY... it has no pick up, no looks, no liquid colling and only yes to BIG FAT FIBER BODY... hero , plz leafn from honda or yamaha , how to make model like r15 or cbr..
The looks of new Karizma ZMR are quite subjective. The bike is unable to convince you instantly. The Y-shaped headlight is not as smoky as Honda CBR150R and the whole front appearance including its tinted visor, body coloured rear view mirrors and edgy mudguard looks way less sporty and attractive than R15. The engine covering features ZMR written on it and looks nice but doesn't look aerodynamic.
woooooooooow! awesome bike
super control in high speed
Hero Karizma ZMR has good feature of Blue back-lit instrument cluster.
