What are the chances of the Skoda Kylaq matching Maruti and Hyundai in after sales service?

Skoda is really upping their game with after sales I think. They have been expanding their network and also the new service packages look quite competitive. It is not Maruti level yet but it is indeed getting there.
What are the chances of the Skoda Kylaq matching Maruti and Hyundai in after sales service?

No way. Service network wise too, Maruti and Hyundai are miles ahead. Until Skoda can reach as far, especially in smaller towns, they will always be at a disadvantage.

It’s getting there, but let’s face it, it’s going to take years for them to build the kind of trust and network that Maruti and Hyundai have. Service concerns will hold back the Kylaq, though it might be great.
What are the chances of the Skoda Kylaq matching Maruti and Hyundai in after sales service?

Actually I prefer Skoda's service now. Yes, there are fewer centers, but the service is usually better than what you get with the mass brands. It's more personalized.

It's a trade-off. Skoda gives you a better car, but you might have to put up with slightly more inconvenient service. It’s worth it for me because the driving experience is superior.

In a few years when these cars are out of warranty, the real test will be. It's then, when we'll see if Skoda can really compete on long term ownership costs.

I think people overestimate the service question. How often do you really need to go to the service center? It shouldn't be an issue if the car is well built.
Is the new Hyundai Verna too polarizing design?

The new design is awesome, I think! Well, it’s about time someone shook up the boring sedan market. Look, not everyone is going to like it, but at least it's not another cookie cutter car.
Is the new Hyundai Verna too polarizing design?
03 January 2025 07:34
Honestly, I'm not a fan. It seems like it's overdoing it to be futuristic. I like a more timeless design that is not going to look dated in a couple of years.
Is the new Hyundai Verna too polarizing design?

The design is growing on me. First I thought it was too much but now I like it because it stands out on the road. I will say it’s definitely a head turner!
Is the new Hyundai Verna too polarizing design?

I’m concerned about practicality. While those sleek lines may look cool, how about visibility? Imagine if those complex LED lights break, and then you try to repair them.
Is the new Hyundai Verna too polarizing design?
03 January 2025 07:34
It’s definitely polarizing, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. That’s how car design evolves — Hyundai is taking risks. Anyone remember the first-gen Sonata and how 'weird' it looked? It’s now considered a classic.
Is the new Hyundai Verna too polarizing design?
03 January 2025 07:34
It might be a little much for some, but I think it will age well. That's a hard balance to strike, but without being gimmicky, it's also futuristic.

I'm worried about resale value, but I love it. Will this design still look good enough to sell in 5-7 years?
In Indian driving conditions, is the Verna's ADAS system actually useful?
03 January 2025 07:24
The ADAS has proven to be surprisingly useful, particularly on highways. It's not perfect but it certainly cuts down on fatigue on long drives.
In Indian driving conditions, is the Verna's ADAS system actually useful?
03 January 2025 07:24
To me, ADAS in India feels like a gimmick. These systems simply don’t work reliably on our roads. I would rather pay less for a car without it.
In Indian driving conditions, is the Verna's ADAS system actually useful?
03 January 2025 07:24
It's a mixed bag. Adaptive cruise control is great on expressways but lane keep assist is pretty useless in city traffic.
In Indian driving conditions, is the Verna's ADAS system actually useful?
03 January 2025 07:24
I think that's a step in the right direction. It sure isn't perfect for Indian conditions but it'll get better over time. We have to start somewhere.
In Indian driving conditions, is the Verna's ADAS system actually useful?
03 January 2025 07:24
Initially I was skeptical, but the automatic emergency braking has caught me out a couple of times where it has frustratedly stamped on the brakes to stop me hitting the suddenly stopped vehicle in front.
In Indian driving conditions, is the Verna's ADAS system actually useful?
03 January 2025 07:24
It's useful, but I'm concerned that some drivers will rely on it a little too much. It should be seen as a guide, not to be a replacement for attentive driving.
