Is the DCT transmission on the Verna a deal breaker?

It's a conversation about the Hyundai Verna's dual clutch transmission (DCT) that has got everyone talking. DCTs are known for their quick shifts and sporty feel, but they have also become known for possible reliability problems, particularly in stop and go traffic. But some users are also worried about the longevity of the DCT, especially in Indian driving conditions, where traffic is heavy and temperatures are high. The DCT is applauded by others for its performance and fuel efficiency. While such benefits of the DCT are readily apparent, many of them have caused others to question whether the risks and maintenance costs outweigh them. It has also led to debate about Hyundai’s choice of a dry DCT over a more robust but less efficient wet DCT. Some potential buyers, in fact, have even started to consider other transmission options or other models due to the controversy.

I can’t live without the DCT. I’ve heard too many horror stories of failures and expensive repairs. I’d rather have a trusted CVT or torque converter.
