Is the Hyundai Venue CNG worth the compromise in boot space?

There’s a factory fitted CNG kit that occupies a huge chunk of boot space. This can be a major issue for many potential buyers that often need to carry luggage or groceries. The loss of boot space is too big a sacrifice for a compact SUV, say some, while others argue the fuel cost savings and lower emissions justify the loss. The argument is usually about whether the CNG variant makes sense for city dwellers with limited driving requirements, or for someone who needs to be more versatile in their vehicle. Furthermore, it is discussed about how this compromise impacts utility and value proposition of the Venue CNG vis a vis its petrol counterpart or other CNG options available in the market.

I honestly don't think it's worth it. Weekend trips and grocery runs require my boot space. It's nice saving the fuel, but not at the expense of practicality.

For city use, it's perfect! The fuel savings more than make up for it, and I barely use my boot anyway. Plus, it's eco-friendly!

It depends on your lifestyle. However, if you’re single or have a small family, the reduced boot space may not be a big deal. For larger families or frequent travelers, this is probably a deal breaker.

Hyundai, I think, missed the mark here. The CNG tank should've been designed to fit under the floor, or something. It just feels wrong to lose that much boot space in an SUV.

I switched from a petrol Venue to the CNG variant and the boot space loss is noticeable, but manageable. All you have to do is be smarter about how you pack.

The trade off is a small boot space, but that’s a small price to pay for such massive fuel savings. It’s totally worth it in the long run.

It just seems like it goes against the point of owning an SUV. If I want less boot space, I will just buy the hatchback with CNG.
