I think it's growing on me. Initially I thought it was ugly, but now I love how it stands out from all the sharp sporty designs.

Retro elements work, but those fork gaiters are off. They're acting like they're trying to be 'tough.'

It's a clever design. Older riders like the retro look, while younger buyers like the rugged touches.

I wish they'd gone all the way retro instead of half and half like this. Commit to the bit, Bajaj!

The build quality is what impresses me more, the design is fine. Unlike some other bikes in this price range, it feels solid.
Could the CT125X's lack of ABS be a deal breaker for safety conscious riders?
15 January 2025 10:05
If you’re a careful rider, the lack of ABS isn’t a big deal for city riding. For daily commutes I haven’t had any problems with my CT125X. But remember to brake gently in wet conditions.
Could the CT125X's lack of ABS be a deal breaker for safety conscious riders?

I believe that is a major oversight. Newer riders can be saved by ABS. For extra safety, I’d personally pay a bit more for a bike with ABS. Saving a few bucks isn’t worth risking your life for.

The price point is definitely a concern, but you have to remember that. To keep it affordable, there were corners Bajaj had to cut. If you are experienced at riding and know how to brake properly, you can do without ABS.
Could the CT125X's lack of ABS be a deal breaker for safety conscious riders?

I’ve ridden bikes with and without ABS, and it's not necessary on a little commuter like the CT125X, though it’s nice to have. In most situations, you’ll be fine with practice progressive braking.
Could the CT125X's lack of ABS be a deal breaker for safety conscious riders?

For me, it's a deal-breaker. ABS is too important to skip, especially if you ride in heavy traffic or monsoons because safety should come first. I’d rather spend a little more on a bike with ABS.
For riders who wish to customize their bike, how customizable is the CT125X?
15 January 2025 10:05
I’ve seen some pretty neat custom CT125Xs out there. Custom paint jobs, some performance mods like air filters and exhaust systems, and even people have added LED lights. For a budget bike, it’s surprisingly customizable.
For riders who wish to customize their bike, how customizable is the CT125X?

I honestly wouldn't bother customizing it much. Most mods are just superfluous cost on a basic commuter. If you want something more personalized, spend that money on maintenance or save up for a better bike.

Practical mods are the best for the CT125X. I also have added a sturdier luggage rack, hand guards, and a usb charger. It doesn't go crazy and these small changes make it much more usable for daily riding.

A community of CT125X modders is growing online. Different tires, suspension tweaks, even some engine mods, people are trying it all. Of course, just make sure you don’t void your warranty if you go too extreme.

Stock, I think the CT125X has a cool, retro inspired look. A few subtle changes such as a different seat or handlebar will make it stand out without losing its charm. All comes down to finding a balance.
How does the CT125X stack up off road compared to more expensive adventure bikes?
15 January 2025 10:05
It won't compete with a proper ADV bike, but the CT125X can do light off roading surprisingly well. I took mine on a few dirt roads and some mild trails, and it did fine. The good thing is that the high ground clearance.

I wouldn't take it off road too hard. The suspension is pretty basic and you will feel every bump. On gravel roads or well maintained dirt paths it's fine, but anything more technical and you're asking for trouble.

With a few mods it can be made more off road capable. People have got knobbier tires and changed the suspension. It can't turn it into a KTM but it will handle more than you would expect.

I honestly think that people expect too much from a budget commuter. It’s not built for serious off roading. If you really want a real adventure bike, save up, get something that's purpose built for it.

Taking my CT125X on light trails has been fun. It won’t win any races, but it’s up to the job for some weekend exploring. But it won't handle big jumps or deep mud.
