Latest Updates
Saturday, 14 January 2023 06:18 AM Tata Motors is reportedly hard at work reviving Ratan Tata's dream project, the Nano, in an electric form. The news was first confirmed earlier this year, when the former chairman himself received an electric version of the Nano from the Pune-based Electra EV start-up which he founded himself. This has led to speculations that the company is indeed working on a completely new, built from the ground up, born-electric version of the Nano. The company is yet to reveal any further details about the project, but it is expected that this electric Nano will be powered by a battery pack and is expected to come with a range of features like a digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen infotainment system. It is also expected that the new EV will be priced competitively, making it a viable option for those looking for an affordable electric car.
Sunday, 15 January 2023 07:55 PM Tata Motors is set to launch the Jayem Neo – Tata Nano EV in India around November 2017. The company has been working on the development of the electric version of the Tata Nano for a while now. The launch will mark the beginning of a new era for the company. The new vehicle will be powered by a 48V Li-Ion battery pack that will offer a range of up to 140 kilometers. The electric version of the Nano is expected to be priced around Rs. 4-5 lakhs.
Sunday, 15 January 2023 07:59 PM Tata Motors is gearing up to expand its electric vehicle lineup with the acquisition of Ford's car manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. This move will further cement Tata Motors' standing in the Indian EV market, and in turn help the company to further develop its proprietary Ziptron EV Tech. With this, Tata Motors will be able to offer a range of electric vehicles, from the Nano electric to its upcoming electric vehicles.
Wednesday, 18 January 2023 05:07 AM

Tata Nano EV is expected to be launched in December 2023 and will be priced at an affordable rate. It is expected to come with some advanced features that make it more efficient and cost-effective for the consumers. Some of the features include a better battery capacity, improved electric motor, and other features that make it stand out from other electric vehicles. The electric motor will be capable of delivering more power with less energy consumption. It will also be equipped with regenerative brakes, regenerative suspension system, and other features that make it more efficient and cost-effective.

With this launch, Tata Motors is expected to revolutionize the EV market and make it more accessible to a wider range of consumers.

Tuesday, 03 September 2024 08:03 AM The Tata Nano EV is expected to launch in India by 2025, with a speculated price range of Rs 4 to 6 lakhs, making it one of the most affordable electric cars in the country. The vehicle is anticipated to have a range of 160 km on a single charge and a top speed of 110 kmph. I believe this pricing will be a game-changer in the Indian EV market.
Wednesday, 24 July 2024 03:48 PM A retrofitted Tata Nano EV, developed by Electra EV, has been gifted to Ratan Tata, the former chairman of Tata Motors. This version features a 72V architecture, a lithium-ion battery, and can go from 0 to 60 kmph in 10 seconds. I think this retrofitted model shows promising potential for the future of affordable EVs.
Monday, 01 April 2024 07:58 PM There is speculation that the Tata Nano EV could offer more advanced features than its predecessor, including a touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital driver’s display, and rear parking sensors. This would align with modern comfort standards while maintaining affordability. I believe these features will make the Nano EV a compelling option for urban commuters.
Monday, 01 April 2024 04:03 AM Tata Motors has not officially announced the price of the Nano EV, but market expectations suggest it could be priced between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 9 lakh. This would position it as a direct rival to other affordable EVs like the MG Comet EV. I think this competitive pricing will help Tata capture a significant share of the entry-level EV market.
Monday, 01 April 2024 07:47 AM The concept of a Tata Nano EV has been around since 2010, but recent developments, including a collaboration with Electra EV, have reignited interest in bringing this model to market. With advancements in EV technology, the new Nano EV could offer a range of over 200 km, making it a viable city-centric vehicle. I believe the timing is right for Tata to reintroduce the Nano as an electric car.

Tata Nano EV (Electra) Review

10 Oct, 2024 09:49 AM

Overview

Recently one car that has come into my interest is the Tata Nano electric vehicle (EV). As an auto enthusiast I find it fascinating that there is a small low-cost electric vehicle for the Indian market as well. As such, it is my belief that the Nano EV can catalyse the use of electric cars in India based on the following reasons, privacy. The Nano EV is relatively cheap and small to manoeuvre through the congested cities while being backed by Tata motors.

So far, no detailed features of the Nano EV are set but what has been provided is that it will indeed have up to 200 km on a single charge. For many urban commuters that would be enough to reach all their daily destinations without touching the steering till evening. The EV version will have similar design to the standard Nano though the Nano was a hatchback car with very small external dimensions yet the internal space was quite large.

As far as charging, reports indicate there will be two options: a 15 amp plug that could be connected to a normal power outlet for slow charging overnight and a charge point that charges the battery to 80% within 90 minutes. I personally also have done multiple road trips and literally waited for hours just to charge my electric car; so at least they are building the fast-charging capability in.

They have more of an incentive in the Asian market to get the Nano EV out the door than Chery does. Getting a deeply affordable, small, functional EEV should probably help a substantial extent in terms of popularisation of the technology in cost-conscious markets like India. The Nano shape is already ingrained into the psyche of the Indian buyer and its small design is ideal for use in the densely populated cities. So long as Tata can come through with expected range and provide at least some fast charging capability, I think they’ve got a winner in their hands!

That being the case, the Nano EV will not be devoid of competition, even in the context of affordable EVs. One of its rivals is Mahindra, which is also be developing an EV version of its e2o hatchback automobile. But as the company which introduced electric vehicles in India with the Tigor EV, Tata possesses EV expertise. When you add the goodwill of the brand to the cost and shape advantage of the Nano form, I’m placing my bet on the Nano EV becoming the number one selling electric car in India within say, three years of its launch.

Now I won’t find many other electric cars on the global market starting at less than 100,000 INR that the Nano EV is proposing to customers in India. Traditionally, higher egemonic forms of mobility have been aimed more directly at luxury and performance subsegments in Europe, East Asia and North America. However, the exigencies of the market in India challenged Tata to do something different for the Nano when it was first produced over a decade ago. I’m more willing for the Nano EV to take up the mantle and become the EV for the people.

However, the Nano EV will have certain inevitable issues as well. Current fluctuation problems persist in the Indian electrical grid in many areas, and the public charging network is still under development. However, the slow overnight charging option should make it easier not to cause problems for owners who have readily available power in their homes. And if Tata finally comes up with a good network for dealers to maintain the cars then they can surely create confidence among the drivers for EV technology.

The EV revolution globally is still in its infancy. However, the Nano EV shows how a new way of considering the design goals can also allow EVs to appeal to drivers in the developing world. Looking forward to having the Tata Nano today zipping the Indian cities running Clean & Quiet – a thumbs up for this auto Enthusiast!

The Nano EV is equipped with a 72V architecture and super polymer lithium-ion batteries. It has a maximum range of 160 km on a single charge and the company claims it can reach 60 km/h in under 10 seconds. Ratan Tata first tested the car in August 2020, and he was so impressed with its performance that he decided to gift it to himself. This is a great example of how electric cars are becoming more popular and accessible.

The success of EVs in India will be largely dependant on the adoption rate of the general population in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. Even with a digital push from the stock market, news outlets and media, EVs have not seen the success of which many had hoped.

It may take another 2-3 years before EVs are more widely adopted by the general population, but this also means that the price of EVs should remain relatively low, so that it is more accessible to the common man.

The Nano EV (Electra) is a bold but yet elegant design, it has taken the tall boy design of the Hyundai Santro and Wagon R and made it more compact and modern. The design is very eye-catching and will surely draw attention on the roads. The interior is also modern and spacious, ensuring that passengers have plenty of room to move around. The price of the Nano EV (Electra) is expected to be competitive and affordable, making it a great option for those who are looking for a reliable and stylish car. The features that are expected to be included in the Nano EV (Electra) are top of the line, making it a great car for those who want to experience the luxury of a high-end electric vehicle in decent price range.

The prototype that was gifted to Ratan Tata from Electra was one-of-a-kind, and there is no plan to mass-produce the vehicle. However, the company plans to use the prototype as a stepping stone to create a production-level version of the Tata Nano EV, which is expected to be released sometime in 2023.

The Nano EV is expected to be an affordable electric vehicle in India, and the company has already invested in the necessary infrastructure to ensure that customers will have access to charging stations.

This is the car of the future. Yes. One is worried whether about long distance drives. But the average city car users will find it a God Given Gift. The office goer in a metro on the average has only drives only less than 70 KMS per day. And parking lots near offices can also be equipped for recharge. In fact the Government of India should provide sops to Tata in terms of Central Excise , Customs etc. This will serve to reduce pollution and dependance on oil which is fast depleting and we can save on Valuable Foreign Exchange. NOW WE NEED IT Mr. Ratan Tata.

Its a much awaited car. The day I heard abt NANO ,much before it's launch, I was expecting an EV version of NANO. INDIA NEEDS IT. HATS OFF to RATAN TATA.

In the mean time Govt Of India should do some thing to encourage people to go for these kind of cars(EV); like reducing taxes for this car, giving away auto loans for a low rate of Interest for these kind of cars, offering extra facilities to EV users/owners etc.

Dear sir, It is good to know about Tata Nano EV, I find the price is high, also in Indian roads the major problem is charging the Ev car, only it has to be charged in home for 8 hrs and then it has to be used, we cannot go for long distance.

In this case if we have a alternate battery, but the battery should be removing and fixing by our own, so we can hold one battery like Stephine, when we go long distance we can inter change it, so for we need to use for our comfortableness.

Thank you
