USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The ICML Extreme Diesel CRD-Fi VD BS4 is a multifaceted vehicle that caters to various needs, but it comes with its own set of limitations. On the positive side, it boasts a powerful 1994 cc CRD-Fi engine, producing 120 bhp and 270 Nm of torque, which is impressive for its class. The vehicle also offers a comfortable seating capacity for 7 people, making it a good option for large families or corporate use. However, it lacks modern safety features such as ABS and airbags, which is a significant drawback. Additionally, the absence of automatic transmission and the limited availability of service centers are notable concerns. Despite these issues, the Extreme provides good pickup and is suitable for long drives, making it a viable choice for those prioritizing power and space over advanced safety and convenience features.
Price
The ICML Extreme Diesel CRD-Fi VD BS4, although discontinued, had a price range that varied based on the variant. The ex-showroom prices in India ranged from approximately 6.49 lakhs for the base model to 9.79 lakhs for the top model. On-road prices would have been higher, considering additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other taxes, which could have pushed the price up to around 16.4 lakhs in major cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai. While the pricing was competitive in its segment, the lack of modern features and limited service support might have impacted its market appeal.
Latest Updates
Thursday, 21 November 2024 10:45 AM The ICML Extreme Diesel CRD-Fi VD BS4 has been discontinued from the Indian market, marking the end of an era for this multi-utility vehicle. The last recorded prices ranged from Rs. 6.49 lakh to Rs. 9.79 lakh. I think this discontinuation is a sign of the evolving market preferences towards more modern and feature-rich vehicles.
Tuesday, 15 October 2024 08:53 AM The ICML Extreme was known for its spacious interior and comfortable ride, making it a favorite among those needing a versatile vehicle for both family and commercial use. It featured a 1994 cc turbocharged engine producing 120 bhp and 270 Nm of torque. I believe its absence will be felt in the segment where practicality is key.
Friday, 20 September 2024 11:19 PM One of the notable features of the ICML Extreme was its fuel efficiency, with an ARAI mileage of 17 kmpl, which was quite impressive for its size and engine capacity. This made it a cost-effective option for long-distance travel. I think this aspect will be missed by many of its loyal customers.
Monday, 26 August 2024 12:33 AM The ICML Extreme had a robust build and a ground clearance of 170 mm, which helped it navigate rough Indian roads with ease. Its suspension system, including independent double wishbone at the front and semi-elliptical leaf spring at the rear, contributed to its comfortable ride. I believe this was one of its strongest selling points.
Tuesday, 30 July 2024 04:37 PM Despite its discontinuation, the ICML Extreme still holds a place in the hearts of many due to its reliability and durability. It was available in various variants, including ambulance and van versions, catering to different needs. I think its legacy will continue through its loyal customer base.
Saturday, 15 June 2024 11:27 AM The ICML Extreme lacked advanced safety features such as ABS and airbags, which was a significant drawback in a safety-conscious market. However, it did come with power steering, power windows, and fog lights, making it a decent option for its time. I believe this lack of safety features contributed to its eventual discontinuation.
Monday, 20 May 2024 03:53 PM The vehicle had a top speed of 165 kmph and could accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 13.2 seconds, which was respectable for its segment. Its 50-liter fuel tank capacity also made it suitable for long trips. I think these performance metrics were quite competitive back in its day.
Thursday, 25 April 2024 07:03 AM ICML Extremes interior was equipped with amenities like rear AC vents, rear charging sockets, and a DVD player with an LCD screen in some variants, enhancing the comfort and entertainment of passengers. I believe these features were ahead of its time in the budget segment.
Friday, 15 March 2024 05:41 PM The ICML Extreme was compliant with BS IV emission norms, which was a step towards reducing environmental impact. However, with the shift to stricter emission standards, it became less viable to continue production. I think this environmental consideration is crucial for any vehicle in todays market.
Saturday, 10 February 2024 07:57 AM The ICML Extreme had a seating capacity of 7 or 9 seats, depending on the variant, making it a versatile option for large families or commercial use. Its dimensions, including a length of 4440 mm and a wheelbase of 2541 mm, provided ample space inside. I believe this versatility was one of its key selling points.
Mileage
Thursday, 21 November 2024 06:05 AM The ICML Extreme Diesel CRD-Fi VD BS4 offers a mileage range of 11.12 to 17 kmpl, with the manual diesel variant achieving an ARAI-certified mileage of 17 kmpl. This is relatively efficient for a vehicle of its size and power output. For users concerned about mileage and running costs, this vehicle provides a decent balance between performance and fuel efficiency, making it a reasonable choice for those who prioritize both power and economy.
