Our take on this /// Verdict
The Yamaha Tricity 125 is a unique and intriguing addition to the Indian two-wheeler market, though its availability is currently limited to other regions. From my perspective, this scooter offers a blend of stability, comfort, and technological advancements that make it an attractive option for urban commuters. The Tricity 125s leaning multi-wheel (LMW) technology provides exceptional stability, especially during cornering, which is a significant advantage over traditional two-wheelers. The 125cc Blue Core engine, while not overly powerful, delivers a smooth and economical riding experience. However, the lack of an India launch makes it a hypothetical choice for local buyers. If it were available, I would recommend it to those seeking a reliable, feature-rich, and safe commuting solution.
Price
The Yamaha Tricity 125, if it were to be launched in India, would likely be priced competitively with other premium scooters. Based on international pricing, the ex-showroom price could start around 3.10 lakh. However, the on-road price would vary depending on state-specific taxes and other local levies, potentially ranging from 3.5 lakh to 3.8 lakh. This pricing positions the Tricity 125 as a premium offering, reflecting its advanced technology and features. For buyers willing to invest in a high-quality, technologically advanced scooter, the price would be justified by the vehicles performance, safety, and comfort.

Yamaha has introduced a new color for the Tricity 125 and Tricity 155 ABS models, set to be released on April 11th, 2024. The new matte light green color is inspired by Japanese wabi-sabi and is designed to be both familiar and trendy. Existing colors, matte gray and white, will also continue to be available. I think this new color will appeal to those looking for a unique and stylish ride.

The Yamaha Tricity 125 is priced at around Rs. 3.45 lakh on-road in certain regions of India, though it is not widely available. This price includes various costs such as RTO, insurance, and other charges. I think the pricing might be a barrier for many potential buyers in the price-sensitive Indian market.

The Yamaha Tricity 125 is equipped with a liquid-cooled, 125cc Blue Core engine that produces 12.06 bhp and 11.02 Nm of torque. This engine is designed for stable cornering and high-quality cruising performance. I believe this engine makes the Tricity 125 a reliable choice for daily commuting and weekend tours.

Despite its global launch in 2014 and a re-introduction in 2019, the Yamaha Tricity range has not seen significant success in ASEAN and Japanese markets. However, the Tricity 125 has found some traction in European markets. I think Yamaha needs to adapt their marketing strategy to better suit different regional preferences.

The 2023 Yamaha Tricity 125 and 155 models, although not planned for the Indian market due to their premium pricing, feature advanced technology like smartphone connectivity, a smart key with keyless operation, and tiltable front wheels for better cornering. These trikes also come with disc brakes and a robust suspension system. I believe these features make them attractive options in markets where trikes are popular.
Mileage
Monday, 18 November 2024 11:55 PM
The Yamaha Tricity 125 boasts an impressive mileage of 40 kmpl, making it an economical choice for daily commuting. This fuel efficiency is a result of the 125cc Blue Core engine, which is designed to balance power and economy. With a 7-liter fuel tank, the scooter offers a good driving range, reducing the need for frequent refueling. In Indian urban conditions, where traffic and road quality can vary significantly, this mileage is particularly beneficial, ensuring that riders can enjoy a cost-effective and reliable riding experience.
