The 2020 Yamaha TMAX 560 sport scooter was officially unveiled back on November 5 last year, and it was on display at the EICMA 2019 motorcycle show. As per the latest details available, the scooter will be offered in two variants and will be launched in the international markets on May 8, 2020. The updated model of the scooter has received a displacement bump, which now stands at 560cc in comparison to the 530cc engine offered in the previous-gen variant. Coming to the other major updates, the front fairing of the scooter has been kept the same while the other body panels have been tweaked to improve the aerodynamics. The 2020 Yamaha TMAX 560 now features a sleeker body design in addition to getting new turn indicators as well as a tweaked tail lamp setup. The brand has offered the all-new variant of the scooter with a Euro-5 compliant engine that offers a 3.5% increase in the power output and a 6% increase in the torque output. Article image The 562cc, twin-cylinder, water-cooled, 4-stroke engine on the 2020 Yamaha TMAX is capable of generating a maximum power figure of 47HP @ 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 55.7Nm @ 5250 rpm. The engine comes mated to a CVT transmission that has been tweaked to offer a much smoother ride. The rider can operate the scooter with two riding modes namely: Sport and Urban. The brand has further offered the bigger displacement TMAX with a re-tuned traction control system. The scooter now features a two-in-one upswept exhaust system with rear catalytic convertors while the kerb weight now stands at 218kg. The 2020 Yamaha TMAX 560 features the same USD forks at the front in addition to getting an adjustable monoshock suspension at the rear. The suspension setup has been further tweaked to improve the overall performance of the sport scooter. Article image The 2020 Yamaha TMAX 560 will be available to the customers in two variants namely standard and Tech Max. The latter features additional comfort features in addition to getting a dedicated connectivity application with GPS features and geo-fencing technology that allows the rider to relocate the scooter, auto-lock, in addition to offering data analytics. The Tech Max variant of the scooter further features heated seat and grips, adjustable rear suspension in addition to the electrically-adjustable windscreen. The customers will be able to avail the 2020 Yamaha TMAX 560 standard variant in Matte Bluish Grey Metallic colour while the Tech Max variant of the scooter will be available in two colour schemes namely Matte Greenish Grey and Matte Dark Grey. As far as India launch is concerned, Yamaha has no immediate plans to launch the TMAX 560 in our country. Here are the official price tags of the 2020 model of the TMAX 560 in the Japanese markets:
  • Standard Variant - JPY 11,60,000 (INR 8.15 lakh)
  • Tech Max Variant - JPY 12,90,000 (INR 9.06 lakh)
