Our take on this /// Verdict
The Yamaha Scorpio Z225, although not currently launched in India, presents an intriguing prospect for potential buyers if it were to enter the Indian market. This bike boasts a 2-valve SOHC, air-cooled 225cc engine, producing 18.2PS of power and 17.5Nm of torque, which is comparable to other bikes in its segment like the Karizma. The Scorpio Z225s performance is robust, making it a viable option for those seeking a balance between power and economy. However, its lack of advanced safety features such as ABS and the use of a drum brake at the rear might be a drawback for some. Overall, it would be a solid choice for riders looking for a reliable, easy-to-maintain motorcycle with decent performance.
Price
The Yamaha Scorpio Z225 has not been officially launched in India, so there is no ex-showroom or on-road price available. However, if we speculate based on its launch in other markets and the pricing of similar models in India, it could potentially be priced around 1.2 to 1.5 lakhs ex-showroom. This would place it competitively within the premium commuter segment. On-road prices would likely be higher by around 20,000 to 30,000, depending on the state and local taxes. If launched, it would be an aggressive pricing strategy by Yamaha to capture a significant share of the Indian motorcycle market.

The Yamaha Scorpio Z225 is known for its economical and reliable performance. It cruises comfortably at speeds of 100-120 kmh, achieving a fuel efficiency of around 30-40 kmlitre, which is quite impressive for a bike in its class. This makes it an excellent choice for daily commuting and long rides, helping to keep running costs manageable.
