Yamaha TZR50 Review

Imagine a sports bike which looks similar to a R1. Feels like an interesting machine but the imagination goes up to the next level with a 50 cc engine being imagined into it. Yes, it’s not just a dream, a real bike named Yamaha TZR50. The super biking experience has been limited into this bike, typically for those who believe in displaying rather than performing.

Design & Style

The TZR50 shares the design with the other seniors of the Yamaha R family. The familiar twin headlight cluster can be seen on the bike, with a surprisingly small exhaust. The alloy wheels are golden and the body is available in 2-tone color. The side view is rather interesting as no one can guess what’s under the fully faired design. The tyres look sleek under the body and the tank looks much bigger when compared to the rest of the parts.

Engine & Performance

Yamaha offers a 49.7 cc, 1-cylinder, 2-stroke liquid cooled engine on its TZR50. The engine produces 2.68 BHP @ 6250 rpm and 3 NM @ 5500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The power values are much lesser than the ones expected from its first look, but as said above, its show business.

Brakes & Suspension

The braking on the little master is handled by a 280 mm front disc brake whereas the rear gets a 220 mm disc brake. The front suspension is telescopic forks whereas the rear gets a monoshock. The tyres used are 100/80-17 and 130/70-17 for front and rear respectively.

Shades & Expected Price

The TZR50 is available in Yamaha Blue and Absolute White shade. No launch plans for India has been made yet, but we expect it to be around INR 70,000.
