Our take on this /// Verdict
The Yamaha TZR50 is a intriguing yet somewhat niche offering, particularly given its status as a 2-stroke engine bike, which has been banned in India for over 16 years. Despite this, if we were to evaluate it purely on its specifications and features, the TZR50 presents a compelling package for those who crave a supersport riding experience without the need for a robust license. The bikes liquid-cooled, fuel-injected 49.7cc engine, producing 2.68 BHP and 3 Nm of torque, is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, which is quite rare in the 50cc segment. The bike also boasts decent spec brakes, including twin disc brakes, and a sporty design that aligns with Yamahas R series. However, its high kerb weight of 128 kg and the absence of a 4-stroke option are notable drawbacks. Overall, while the TZR50 is an exciting prospect, its non-compliance with Indian regulations makes it a bike that enthusiasts can only dream of owning in the country.
Price
The Yamaha TZR50, if it were to be launched in India, would likely be priced around 70,000 ex-showroom in Delhi, though this figure may vary depending on the region. However, given that 2-stroke bikes are banned in India, this price is purely speculative. In terms of on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other fees, the total would likely exceed 80,000. Its important to note that these prices are hypothetical, as the bike is not legally available for purchase in India. For those interested in similar performance and features, they would need to look at other models that comply with Indian regulations.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 08:04 PM
The Yamaha TZR50 is estimated to return a mileage of over 50 kmpl, which is quite impressive given its sporty nature and 2-stroke engine. This fuel efficiency is a result of its highly efficient fuel injection system and the relatively low displacement of the engine. However, since the bike is not available in India, this mileage figure remains theoretical. For buyers concerned about mileage and running costs, its crucial to consider other models that are legally available and offer similar or better fuel efficiency.

It is risky for a company to launch a bike that does not go with the Indian mindset, either give them a budget bike or offer them performance for higher pricing.

Please launch this bike immediately. In India there is permission for launching two stroke bike upto 70cc eg xl super, mahindra kine. This bike is a real performer in Italy. It has 6 speed, liquid cooled engine. Its top speed is 109kmph at 6th gear. Its mileage is about 60kmpl. So it will be the best sports bike for middle class people. Its price is also cheaper. In fact most of the people go for secong hand Yamaha RX 100 than pulsar or apache or any other 4 stroke bike. So it will definitely be a treat for those people from Yamaha.

I dont know y yamaha is leaving this kind of bike in R series name. Its a shame for a company, with low cc bike with R brand. R is having its own reputation, people fall behind for its known speed, thrill, perfection & unique.
Y DA HELL YAMAHA WONT LAUNCH DS BIKE IN INDIA???????

Yamaha TZ R50 looks cool but What 2 do with 50cc and 2.83Bhp......not even a speed of 80kmph..
50cc? you can buy tvs xl of 70cc!!
50cc for child, its a super bike. i like it.
If u dont need a licence 2 drive, TZ R50 is worth.
For middle class segment, Yamaha should PLAN to make bike like R50 but the displacement should be around 100cc - 150cc which can meet the basic requirement of biking standard, it should be 4 stroke with 10-15 BHP power, Net-Net the Bike is Cool and affordable. But some technical modification is required.
2.83 bhp having disc and costs rs. 70000............what the hell???
Is this typo error or this is really 50cc bike????
power?? torque??
????????????????????????!@$#$@#$@#$@#$
disk brakes, sporty look, and just 50cc engine,
Strange!!
Are they gone mad? fixing 50cc engine for a bike with a look of 150+cc bike. what is the need of rear discs for a 2.83bhp 2.87nm engine.
Who will buy this 50cc bike for 70k while R125 is available in 90k!!!!!!!!!
If yamaha want to sell this into indian market then yamaha should minimize the price.
