Yamaha Alba 106 ES Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
Yamaha Moto Corporation is one of the largest and oldest manufacturer of motorcycles. The Yamaha Alba 106 is based on a double cradle type tubular chassis which gives it a decent look. The bike was launched in 2008 but its production was discontinued few years back. The Alba 106 has a length of 2000 mm, width of 730 mm and a height of 1050 mm as it dimensions which gives it a slimmer and sleek look. The bike features an aerodynamic cowl, and single ergonomic seating, a prominent halogen bulb, sturdy tank and a comfortable handle bar. It is the appropriate commuter for the Indian families with a long lasting life, innovative designed indicators, stylish tail light and silver coated alloy wheels.
The bike was equipped with a 106cc, air cooled, mono cylinder, 4-stroke, two valve, SOHC based engine which generates a torque of 7.8 Nm at 6,000 rpm and a power of 7.5 bhp at 7,500 rpm. The engine was mated with a four speed manual gearbox. Yamaha Alba 106 delivers an excellent mileage of 75 kmpl on highways which reduces to 65 kmpl in the city and overall, provides an average mileage of 70 kmpl. The bike has a top speed of 83 kmph.
The instrument console is simple, yet looks trendy. It features an analogue speedometer and fuel gauge along with indicators for low fuel and pass-light. It has drum brakes for the rear as well as front which makes the braking system strong enough for rough and tough roads. The suspension system comprises of Telescopic Hydraulic type at the front and Adjustable Hydraulic at the rear. It has a high ground clearance of 130 mm which protects the under body from damages. The bike has a wheelbase of 1300 mm which makes it safer to ride and handle. The Alba 106 was available in four striking color options: Red, Black, Blue and Silver. The commuter was priced around Rs.35,000 approx (ex-showroom, Delhi) may vary.
