Recent news and announcements
The campaign, which is set to launch soon, will feature the legendary cricketer in a series of advertisements, highlighting the features of the new Victor GLX 125. According to a statement released by TVS Motor Company, Sachin Tendulkar's association will help bring to life the concept of 'Joy Through Performance'.Speaking on the occasion, TVS Motor Company's Chairman, Venu Srinivasan said, "We are delighted to have Sachin Tendulkar as the face of our new Victor GLX 125 campaign. His association with the brand is a reflection of our commitment to bring joy to the lives of our customers by providing performance-oriented products."Sachin Tendulkar, who is also an investor in the company, said, "I'm delighted to be associated with TVS Motor Company and its new Victor GLX 125. I'm sure the new model will be a hit with the customers and will revolutionize the motorcycle industry in India."TVS Motor Company is one of the oldest two-wheeler manufacturers in India and has been in the business
The TVS Victor, a popular commuter motorcycle, was discontinued in March 2020 due to the implementation of BS6 norms. Despite its absence, there is no clear indication of its return, especially with TVS focusing on other models in the 110cc and 125cc segments. I believe this decision might be a strategic move to consolidate their product lineup and focus on more competitive segments.
The TVS Victor, when it was last available, boasted a 109.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine producing 9.6PS and 9.4Nm, paired with a 4-speed transmission. It featured modern amenities like a part-digital instrument console, Auto Headlamp ON (AHO), and a well-calibrated suspension system. I think these features made it a strong contender in the commuter segment.
The TVS Victor 125, launched in 2004 and discontinued around 2007, had a 125cc engine producing 10hp and 9.8Nm. It was notable for its fuel efficiency claims, although users reported lower real-world mileage. The lack of an electric start and cold start issues were significant drawbacks. I think these issues might have contributed to its relatively short market lifespan.
In its previous iterations, the TVS Victor was known for its reliability and economical appeal. The Victor GX model, for instance, introduced improvements such as the Dura Life engine with coated anti-friction piston rings and an optimized carburetor for better mileage. I believe such enhancements contributed significantly to its popularity among budget-conscious riders.

Compare TVS Victor GLX with these similar bikes
The bad side of the TVS Victor is well known, as it is known for its weak shockers. I have experienced the same problem myself and have informed the company of this issue multiple times. Unfortunately, all they did was provide temporary fixes. The customer service is also extremely poor. Additionally, the bike is only offering four gears in an age where five gears are the norm.
On the positive side, the bike has a decent performance in terms of power with its 125 CC engine and torque. If it is driven decently, the average mileage is around 50-60 kms per liter. This is a good amount of mileage for a bike of its segment.
All in all, the TVS Victor is not a great purchase. Splendor, a bike of the same segment, offers better features and does not require the extra work of shocker replacement or temporary fixes.
The TVS Victor GLX is a great option for those looking for a value-for-money bike in India. The low cost of maintenance and good mileage make it a great choice for commuters. The engine may not be as refined as other higher end models, but it packs an impressive 110cc engine with decent power output. Additionally, the price point of this bike makes it a great option for those looking for an affordable yet reliable bike.
The TVS Victor is a great choice for those looking for a bike with comfort, looks and technical specifications. The 3-valve engine and good shockers provide a good ride, and the light is brighter than most in its class. When I bought the bike in June 2019, I was impressed with the smooth ride and felt like I was riding a 125cc bike in terms of speed. The overall experience of the TVS Victor has been great, and it is a great bike from TVS from all angles.
The TVS Victor 2016 drum brake version is a great bike that I have owned for the past 4.3 years. It has great power and pickup, along with an impressive mileage of up to 65kmph in city conditions. The suspension is reliable and the seat is comfortable and long enough for long rides. The blue colour of the bike is also attractive, giving the illusion of a bigger bike than the actual 110cc. The tubeless tyres are great, requiring less maintenance and providing good road grip at lower speeds. The headlamps also have a brighter 65W bulb, and there is less vibration even when riding at 85kmph. The bike starts without any hassle even in cold weather, and the semi-digital display adds to its aesthetic appeal.
However, some improvements can be made to the bike. For instance, adding an extra gear to the 4-speed option would be optimal for a powerful bike like this. The petrol tank can also be made bigger, and the rear brakes can be made more effective. Additionally, the gears can sometimes be a bit hard to change.
The TVS Victor GLX is the perfect combination of power, economy and style. It has a good mileage and offers a perfect grip on the road, making it perfect for those who want to travel long distances. The headlamps are attractively designed and provide good visibility of the road, while the information panel provides essential information like service reminders. It also has tubeless tyres and disc brakes, which add to the overall safety of the bike. It looks good and is comfortable to ride, making it a great option for daily local rides. Overall, the TVS Victor GLX is a great bike for those looking for a reliable and stylish ride.
