Piaggio has unveiled the anticipated limited edition of the older Vespa VX, called as the 'Elegante'. This special edition is going to be launched in a few days. Let's discuss the scooter in detail.

Design and Style

The scooter retains its core DNA with its elegant looks and mechanical terrain. Apart from that, it has got new remarkable updates including a new 'Elegante' badge, chrome accents on the sides and chrome mirrors along with a new stylish split seat which is mounted on an opening platform that can be lifted to reveal a storage area. Its smart concept gives it an excellent ergonomics. The scooter has got a wheelbase of 1290 mm for better stability on road. Overall the scooter imparts retro looks that looks appealing.

Instrument Panel

The Elegante features an analogue instrument console that comprises a rounded speedometer and a fuel gauge. The scooter also bears low fuel and low battery indicators for the comfort of the rider. There are no tachometer and trip meter seen on the panel.

Dimensions and Fuel tank capacity

The scooter has got a length of 1770 mm, width of 690 mm and a height of 1140 mm as its dimensions along with a weight of 114 Kgs. It also features a fuel tank with a capacity of 7-litres which gives you a decent range.

Engine and Gearbox

There are no mechanical changes done to the scooter. It is powered by the same 125cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled engine which kicks out a maximum power of 9.92 Bhp made at 7500 rpm and a maximum torque production of 10.6 Nm made at 6000 rpm. The engine is mated to a CVT transmission.

Brakes and Suspension

The Elegante comes equipped with 200 mm disc brake at its front while the 140 mm drum brakes are placed at its rear end which are quite effective. The suspension system comprises of Arm with coil spring and dual effect shock absorber at the front side and Coil spring and dual effect shock absorber at its back.
