Hyosung GT125R
General information and overview
The Hyosung GT125R is a 125cc sports bike that packs a punch in its segment. It features a 124cc, airoil-cooled DOHC V-twin engine, which is rare in this displacement category, producing 14.2 BHP and 9.7 Nm of torque. The bike is equipped with a 5-speed gearbox, twin disc brakes, and a preload adjustable monoshock suspension. It has a sporty design, similar to its larger siblings, the GT250R and GT650R, and comes in several color options like GreyBlack, BlackWhite, and RedBlack. The bike also includes modern features such as a digital fuel gauge, tripmeter, speedometer, and tachometer, making it a compelling choice for those looking for a stylish and performance-oriented 125cc bike.
Expert opinion and recommendation
The Hyosung GT125R is a standout in the 125cc segment, particularly for its sleek and sporty design, which is often mistaken for a more powerful bike. From my perspective, this bike excels in its aesthetics and performance for its class. It boasts a 124cc, airoil-cooled DOHC V-twin engine, producing 14.2 BHP at 10500 rpm and 9.7 Nm of torque at 10000 rpm. The bikes handling is smooth, and the digital display adds a modern touch. However, some owners have reported issues with reliability, such as rusting and electrical faults, which need to be considered. Despite these, the GT125R remains a fun and confident ride, especially for those transitioning from smaller bikes.

Pricing details and changes
The Hyosung GT125R, although not currently launched in India, would likely fall in a premium bracket if it were to be introduced. Based on the pricing of other Hyosung models in India, such as the GT250R and GT650R, we can expect the GT125R to be priced around 1.5 to 2 lakhs ex-showroom. On-road prices would add another 20,000 to 50,000 depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing makes it a bit steep compared to other 125cc bikes in the market but justifiable given its unique design and performance features.
Fuel efficiency information
The Hyosung GT125R is claimed to offer a mileage of around 35-40 kmpl, which is relatively good for a sporty 125cc bike. This mileage, combined with its 17-liter fuel tank, makes it a viable option for daily commuting and short trips. However, actual mileage can vary based on riding conditions and maintenance, but it should generally provide a decent balance between performance and fuel efficiency.
