Latest Updates
Thursday, 12 September 2024 09:35 AM Honda has officially discontinued the X-Blade from the Indian market due to poor sales. The bike has been delisted from Hondas official website, and only a few units remain with dealers. This move comes after the launch of the new SP160 model, which seems to be Hondas new focus. I think this decision makes sense given the competitive 160cc segment.
Thursday, 12 September 2024 08:00 PM The Honda X-Blade had a 162cc single-cylinder engine, producing 13.93 bhp and 13.9 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. It also featured telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Despite these specs, it failed to stand out in a highly competitive market dominated by models like the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Bajaj Pulsar N160. I believe the competition was just too strong.
Thursday, 12 September 2024 06:36 AM Before its discontinuation, the Honda X-Blade was priced between Rs. 1.17 lakh and Rs. 1.22 lakh (ex-showroom). This pricing was competitive, but the bikes overall package did not resonate with Indian buyers. The remaining units will likely be sold off quickly, given the potential for discounts. I think its a good time for those interested to grab one.
Thursday, 12 September 2024 09:58 AM The discontinuation of the Honda X-Blade marks another attempt by Honda to find success in the 150-160 cc premium commuter segment. Previous models like the CB Trigger and CB Hornet 160R also faced similar fates due to poor sales. I believe Honda needs to rethink their strategy for this segment.

Discussions and Questions Honda XBlade

Is it suitable to take Honda XBlade 160 for long rides?
17 April 2025 12:01

The Honda XBlade 160 can be suitable for occasional long rides, but it is not ideal for serious or extended touring. The bike offers smooth power delivery and strong mid-range performance, making it comfortable for highway rides, especially in 4th and 5th gear. However, it lacks certain features that are crucial for long-distance touring, such as a windscreen, which can lead to rider fatigue after a couple of hours on the highway. The bike's ergonomics are comfortable, but the seat comfort becomes an issue on daylong rides. Additionally, while it handles well on various road surfaces and is stable at highway speeds, the engine can be stressed at constant high speeds. For shorter trips or weekend getaways, the XBlade 160 works well, but for longer, more serious tours, there may be better options available.

Does the XBlade's digital instrument cluster meet the hype?
17 January 2025 06:48
But it’s overkill for a 160cc commuter. I don’t use half the functions, and I’m sick of worrying about the repair costs when it conks out after the warranty.
In long-distance touring, how does the XBlade compare to its competitors?
17 January 2025 06:48
People don't give it credit for things it's capable of. No, it’s not a dedicated tourer, but it’s versatile enough to cope with the odd long ride without too much hassle.
Is the Honda XBlade Double Disc Model worth the extra price over the single-disc variant?
17 January 2025 06:48
If you're mostly commuting, it’s not worth it. Yet if you're the type of person who likes to take your bike on weekends, that rear disc can be a lifesaver through twisty roads.
And how does the XBlade’s LED headlight stack up against other bikes in its class?
17 January 2025 06:48
If you're someone who rides a lot at night, the XBlade's headlight makes an incredible difference compared to what I used to ride. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely above average for the segment.
