Hero MotoCorp Limited has unveiled India's first electric hybrid concept scooter, with the name of Hero Leap Hybrid Concept at an event in New Delhi on January 29, 2014 along with four other products. It was first showcased as a concept model at 2012 Delhi Auto Expo and now the company pulled the curtains off from its prototype model. The production model will reach in the market by 2015 and will work on both petrol and electricity. Let's see what this scooter has got in detail.

Hero Leap Hybrid Concept has got an all-new 124cc, air-cooled, petrol engine which works in conjunction with an 8kW electric traction motor, Li-Ion batteries and an on-board generator. The PMAC provides an outstanding torque figure of 60Nm even from a standstill along with a top speed of 100kmph while running on a range extender petrol engine. Also, it has a combined range of over 340kms on electric and petrol modes while providing a stunning fuel economy of almost 100kmpl.
