Our take on this /// Verdict
The Bajaj Discover 100, despite being discontinued, remains a notable entry in the commuter bike segment in India. My experience with this bike highlights its strengths in being a reliable and fuel-efficient option. The smooth, snatch-free engine, which is a significant improvement over older Bajaj models, makes it a pleasant ride. The bikes lightweight design and good handling, particularly aided by the Nitrox suspension, add to its commuter-friendly credentials. However, some users have reported issues with the chain and sprocket, and the mileage can vary, which might be a concern for some. Overall, it is a solid choice for those seeking a budget-friendly, low-maintenance commuter bike, but potential buyers should be aware of the potential drawbacks.
Price
The Bajaj Discover 100, at the time of its discontinuation, was priced around 48,000 ex-showroom in India. On-road prices would have varied depending on the state and local taxes, but generally, it would have been in the range of 55,000 to 60,000. This pricing made it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers looking for a reliable commuter bike. The affordability and the value for money it offered were key factors in its popularity. However, since it is no longer in production, prices for used models would be significantly lower, making it even more accessible to those on a tight budget.
Mileage

The Bajaj Discover 100 is known for its excellent mileage, which is a crucial factor for Indian commuters. It claims an approximate mileage of 84 kmpl, although real-world figures can vary. Many users have reported mileage ranging from 70-75 kmpl, which is still very competitive in its class. This fuel efficiency helps in keeping running costs low, making it an economical choice for daily commutes.
