Design Marvel: Drawing Inspiration from Nexon EV SUV

As the Curvv inches closer to its market debut, the intricacies of its design are coming into focus. Taking inspiration from the facelifted Nexon EV SUV, the Curvv showcases a distinctive front end with connected LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) spanning the width of the bonnet. The main headlights, flanking the bumpers, contribute to a dynamic and modern aesthetic. Noteworthy features include a closed upper grille with slim horizontal inserts, following the lower air dams, and a silver skid plate at the bottom.

One of the Curvv's most distinctive design features is its coupe-like roofline which elevates the vehicle and distinguishes it from other SUVs in the class. The flush door handles a first for the sector that improves the SUV's svelte silhouette, are a noteworthy innovation. Modern horizontal taillight bars define the rear design, giving it a sleek and well-balanced appearance. Angular elements in the bumper and a silver skid plate complete the rear aesthetics.

Innovative Cabin Design and Feature-Rich Interior

Stepping inside the Curvv, the cabin design mirrors the contemporary theme seen in newer Tata models, particularly the Nexon facelift. The dashboard adopts a minimalist approach while accommodating a generously sized touchscreen interface. Expect advanced features such as touch-sensitive AC controls and a steering wheel adorned with the illuminated Tata logo, reminiscent of the Harrier and Safari models.

The anticipated feature list is extensive, encompassing a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a fully digital 10.25-inch driver's display, a 360-degree camera system, ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger, cruise control, keyless entry, and push-button start. Safety is a top priority, with the inclusion of up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

Versatile Powertrain Options

Tata has unveiled an exciting array of powertrain options for the Curvv SUV. The lineup includes a new 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo petrol engine delivering an impressive 125 PS and 225 Nm of torque. Complementing this, a 1.5-litre diesel engine, generating 115 PS and 260 Nm of torque, has also been confirmed. It's worth noting that the diesel variant will exclusively feature a 6-speed manual transmission, with no mention of an automatic option as of now.

On the petrol front, enthusiasts can anticipate a choice between a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. In an eco-friendly move, Tata plans to introduce an electric variant, the Curvv EV, alongside these internal combustion engine (ICE) options.

The Tata Curvv SUV is anticipated to make its commercial debut by the end of 2024, bringing with it a blend of style, innovation, and performance. With an estimated starting price around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom), the Curvv is poised to be a compelling option in the SUV-coupe segment. It is expected to compete with well-established models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, and Skoda Kushaq.
