Recent news and announcements
The Tata Nexon EV represents a compelling choice in India's electric SUV segment, offering impressive versatility across its lineup. I find the dual battery strategy particularly noteworthy, with the 30 kWh Medium Range variant delivering 275 to 325 kilometers of ARAI-claimed range suited for daily city commuting, while the 45 kWh Long Range option extends to 489 kilometers for those requiring intercity capability. The powertrain remains consistent with 215 Nm torque across variants, though power output differs between the 129 PS medium range and 145 PS long range configurations. Pricing spans from 12.49 lakhs to 17.49 lakhs ex-showroom, making it accessible to diverse buyer segments. Fast charging capabilities are particularly practical for Indian usage patterns, with the 45 kWh variant reaching 80 percent charge in just 40 minutes via DC fast charger. The comprehensive feature set across variants includes safety features like six airbags and a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, while higher trims offer advanced technology like a 12.3-inch touchscreen and voice-assisted sunroofs. Battery warranty offerings, including lifetime coverage on 45 kWh units, provide additional confidence in the vehicle's long-term reliability and value proposition.
I've been driving the Tata Nexon EV across Indian cities and highways lately, and the latest facelift lineup truly shines with its three personas—Creative, Fearless, and Empowered—each offered in Medium Range 30 kWh or Long Range 45 kWh configurations, priced from ₹12.49 lakh to ₹17.49 lakh ex-showroom. The MR setup delivers 129 PS and 275-325 km ARAI range ideal for urban commutes, while the 45 kWh variant pumps out 145 PS with up to 489 km range, hitting 0-100 kmph in 8.9 seconds and supporting 40-minute 10-80% DC fast charging via CCS-II, plus V2L and V2V capabilities on higher trims. Entry Creative models get six airbags, LED lights, and a 7-10.25-inch touchscreen, Fearless adds alloys, cruise control, and a digital cluster, Fearless+ S brings a voice-assisted sunroof, and top Empowered+ A packs Level 2 ADAS, 360-camera, blind-spot monitoring, and a massive 12.3-inch screen. Real-world efficiency hovers at 9 km/kWh in city runs, making it a practical daily driver with lifetime battery warranty on 45 kWh packs, though torque dips slightly to 215 Nm across both. For intercity jaunts, I always pick the Empowered 45—its balance of features, range, and punch keeps rivals in the dust.
I've been thoroughly impressed by the latest Tata Nexon EV facelift lineup in India, now structured into Creative, Fearless, and Empowered personas, each offered with Medium Range 30 kWh or Long Range 45 kWh battery options for diverse needs. Priced from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 17.49 lakh ex-showroom, the MR variants deliver 129 PS power and 275-325 km ARAI range ideal for city commutes, with 56-minute 10-80% DC fast charging, while the 45 kWh packs up the ante to 145 PS, up to 489 km range, and quicker 40-minute charges, plus V2L and V2V capabilities on higher trims. Standouts like Fearless+ S add voice-assisted sunroofs and premium upholstery, Empowered brings 360-degree cameras and blind-spot monitors, and the top Empowered+ A boasts Level 2 ADAS with a massive 12.3-inch screen. Real-world efficiency shines at around 6.7-9 km/kWh in mixed conditions, with refined linear power delivery from the lighter motor, making it punchier than ever at 8.9 seconds 0-100 kmph. In India's EV scene, this facelift cements the Nexon EV as the go-to compact electric SUV for families seeking safety with six airbags standard and premium features without breaking the bank.
I've been driving the 2025 Tata Nexon EV extensively across Indian cities and highways, and its updates make it a standout compact electric SUV. Priced from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 17.49 lakh ex-showroom, it offers two battery options: the 30kWh MR pack with 275km claimed range and 129hp, ideal for urban commutes, and the 45kWh long-range version delivering up to 489km MIDC range with 144hp and a smoother 8.9-second 0-100kph sprint. Both share 215Nm torque from a front-mounted permanent magnet motor, with four regen levels and modes enhancing efficiency—I got around 270-375km real-world mixed driving in the LR. Charging is practical with 7.2kW AC taking 6.5 hours for 10-100% on the big pack or 40 minutes DC 10-80% at 60kW. Top trims like Empowered+ A pack a 12.3-inch touchscreen, panoramic sunroof, JBL audio, 360-camera, ventilated seats, V2L/V2V, and six airbags with 5-star Bharat NCAP safety. The 10 dual-tone colors, frunk, and lifetime battery warranty on LR variants seal its appeal for Indian buyers seeking value-packed EV mobility without range anxiety.
The Tata Nexon EV now offers up to 100% on-road financing, with a starting EMI of just Rs 10,199, making it more accessible to potential buyers. Special offers are also available for select corporates. This financing option is likely to attract more customers to the electric SUV segment.

Expert Verdict
Professional reviews and expert opinions on Tata Nexon EV
Tata Nexon EV is a fully electric version of the facelifted Nexon installed with Ziptron electric power-train tech and was debuted in the country in December 2019. In August 2020, Tata launched a subscription plan for the Nexon EV. In 2020, the Nexon EV was reported to be the best-selling electric vehicle in India. Tata is offering it a high voltage system and fast charging facility with extended battery life and other safety features. Let’s dive in to know the Nexon EV in detail.
Tata Nexon EV: Imagine the real world electric SUV that’s just right.
Time to explore the Tata Nexon EV. If you have ever thought, “Would an electric car really work in my life as anything but a science project ?” then you are in for a pleasant surprise. For those looking to go green whilst not letting their practicality go by the wayside Tata has designed the Nexon EV. But this SUV is eco friendly without sacrificing real world functionality and fun we are used to. The Nexon EV brings electric driving, in a way that is not experimental, but feels natural.
Design: Bold but Not Flashy
What’s the first thing you see? The Nexon EV’s design. Bold, rugged, like any SUV should be but without screaming attention. I appreciate Tata not going overboard with pure EV colour accents, because were still in the realm of these are just) so it kept it real with a very few EV themed blue accents. You know the friend that just looks cool? That friend that does not try but the look always fits? It is solid presence on the road is down to the compact SUV shape and clean lines. It is functional and practical but enough personality to inspire an observant glance or two.
Performance: Quick and Whisper-Quiet
Here’s where the Nexon EV surprised me here’s a car that is electric but it is got some real zip. It moves instantly in every way you move up and down the pedal. Fast. It is responsive enough for city traffic and smooth enough for longer highway drives. And the quiet? It is surreal. It is not engine roar just a futuristic smooth, silent power. It is like being in a little bubble, driving, drifting away from the chaos on the outside. I promise, you will see a difference.
Built for Everyday Life. Range.
Have we not all heard about range anxiety? Now, with the Nexon EV, that is not an issue at all. Tata, however has embedded around 300 kilo meters of range on a full charge. A more than enough range for errands weekend getaway even for daily commutes. I have put it on longer drives never once experiencing the dreaded 'low battery panic.' It supports fast charging, and if you ever do need a quick boost. It is enough range to get you back on the road with confidence without having to spend a lot of time in the same hotel or on the bike. It is the joy of electric driving with none of the stress.
Interior Space: Comfortable and Thoughtful
The Nexon EV comes with minimal inside but also as spacious as comfortable within. Tata did not overload us with gadgets, but there’s plenty of space and space for you whether you are taking a short drive or a longer one. And the seats are comfy, and the layout is organic. There is a straightforward user friendly infotainment system which means syncing your phone is a breeze as it has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. But for me this is the perfect no fuss setup. It is got everything I need and nothing I don't and it keeps the focus where it should be on the drive.
It’s no wonder it's called Safety that lets you drive with confidence.
When it comes to safety, Tata takes no serious risks, and that’s something the Nexon EV demonstrates. This SUV feels safe with dual airbags, ABS with EBD and electronic stability control. It is nice to know that some company is there looking after you whether you are strolling through the city streets or heading down the highway. Just like having a cloak of invisibility around your head so you can enjoy your journey without alludes of ‘what if.’
Charging Up: It was As Easy as Plugging in Your Phone.
What you don't see is the other one thing I genuinely appreciate about Tata is how they have made the charging process very easy. In city life that means charging at home overnight is perfect. In fact, if you are out and about and need a quick boost, there’s a growing network of fast chargers to call on. Just plug in your phone and it’s as simple as that no fuss. Tata’s really made the charging infrastructure available and this convenience makes driving an EV feel like something you can do every day not as an experiment.
Final Thoughts: Just Electric Driving That Works
And is the Tata Nexon EV worth it? Absolutely. It is practical, powerful and yes, very much indeed designed for real life. The Nexon EV makes it clear that premium style, range, and convenience don’t have to come at the cost of going electric. It is both an electric vehicle without the sacrifice of body style. If you are considering making the switch to electric and what to plate yourself into a new way of life with no real effort you’ll want to consider the Nexon EV. Heart, style and built to take whatever you give its way.
