Maruti Ritz VXi

About
The Maruti Suzuki Ritz VXi is a hatchback that stands out for its spacious and comfortable cabin. Powered by a 1197 cc petrol engine producing 85 horsepower, it offers a smooth and responsive drive. The car features a manual transmission with five gears, power steering, and a manual air conditioner. The exterior design is aerodynamically built, inspired by European cars, although the rear design has been criticized for being less appealing. The Ritz VXi also includes features like central locking, child lock, engine immobilizer, and power windows. With its tall body design and high seats, it provides an Innova-like experience in terms of visibility and comfort. The cars stability at high speeds and its overall performance make it a reliable choice for daily commuting and occasional long drives.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Maruti Suzuki Ritz VXi is a practical and versatile hatchback that offers a compelling package for both city and highway driving. While it may not be the most powerful car in its segment, it excels in terms of high-speed stability, reaching up to 160 kmph with ease. The engine, though a bit noisy at higher revs, provides good acceleration and handling. The interior is spacious, with rear leg space that surpasses many of its competitors, including the Swift and Beat. However, the rear visibility can be a concern, and the boot space is limited. Overall, the Ritz VXi is a good value-for-money car, especially considering its comfortable ride, decent fuel efficiency, and robust build quality.
Price
The Maruti Suzuki Ritz VXi, although discontinued, can still be evaluated based on its historical pricing. The ex-showroom price for the Ritz VXi in New Delhi ranged from Rs. 4.89 lakh to Rs. 5.14 lakh, depending on whether it included ABS. On-road prices would have been slightly higher, typically around Rs. 5.5 lakh to Rs. 6 lakh, including taxes and other costs. Given its features and performance, the Ritz VXi was competitively priced in its segment, offering a balance of affordability and value.
Latest Updates
Friday, 17 April 2015 01:27 PM Maruti Suzuki has discontinued the production of the Maruti Ritz in India, with the hatchback now only available for purchase by cab operators for a limited time. This move marks the end of an era for a car that had a decent run in the Indian market. I believe this decision was necessary to make way for newer models that better fit the current market demands.
Wednesday, 12 November 2014 06:38 AM The Maruti Ritz was available in various variants, including the VXi and ZXi trims, with both petrol and diesel engine options. The diesel variant, powered by a 1.3-liter Fiat Multijet engine, was particularly popular due to its fuel efficiency and lower operating costs. I think the diesel variant was a smart choice for those looking for a balance between performance and economy.
Wednesday, 12 November 2014 08:40 PM Maruti Suzuki introduced a limited edition of the Ritz called the Ritz Elate, which came with additional features and a discount of up to Rs 65,000 to attract more buyers. This move was part of the companys strategy to clear out inventory before discontinuing the model. I believe such limited editions can be a great way to add some excitement to an otherwise familiar model.
Thursday, 23 August 2012 09:38 AM The Maruti Ritz VXi was known for its spacious cabin and comfortable ride, making it a favorite among many buyers. It came equipped with features like manual air conditioning, chrome finished rear view mirror, and power steering. The VXi variant also had a 1197 cc petrol engine producing 85 horsepower. I think the Ritz VXi offered great value for its price, especially in terms of interior space and comfort.
Thursday, 23 August 2012 04:02 PM Maruti Suzuki had planned to launch a facelifted version of the Ritz, which was expected to include an automatic gearbox in the petrol variant. The new version was also set to feature safety upgrades such as ABS and airbags in the higher trims. This update was aimed at making the Ritz more appealing and competitive in the B+ segment hatchback market. I believe the addition of an automatic gearbox would have significantly enhanced the cars appeal to urban buyers.
Mileage
Friday, 22 November 2024 06:27 AM The mileage of the Maruti Suzuki Ritz VXi is a significant factor for potential buyers. The manual petrol variant of the Ritz VXi is rated at 18.5 kmpl by ARAI, though real-world mileage tends to be slightly lower, around 12-14 kmpl in city driving and 15-16 kmpl on highways. For those concerned about running costs, the diesel variant offers even better efficiency with an ARAI-rated 23.2 kmpl. These figures make the Ritz a reasonable choice for those looking to balance fuel efficiency with performance.

I am riding Ritz since two years. It's a good car for small family of four members. The overall design is nice and different. Most of it, it's a fuel efficient car which is the prime need of every buyer. Initially, I got 12kmpl average through this car which later improved to 14kmpl. Yes, now it is constant at 14. I believe it depends upon the driving skills also that how well you treat your car. I always drive at moderate speed with less gear shifting. Ergonomically, its really amazing with good rolling of seats. The front seats are good enough to provide clear visibility of the road thanks to high driving position. The rear seats are also comfortable for long tours and it support lots of spaces for needy stuff. Overall, it provides smooth drive even with 5 on-board passengers. I must recommend this car to everyone.

I own this car and completely satisfied by the car. This is one of the best family car available in this segment. Good average, fantastic suspension, mariti servicing, spacious and powerfule and fuel efficient engine. This is all in one pack. Unconventional look may bother somebody but other than its a fantastic package. Kudos to Maruti for giving such a gift.
