Hyundai Eon Era (Old Model)

About
The Hyundai Eon Era is a budget-friendly car that excels in city driving. It features a 3-cylinder engine available in 0.8L and 1.0L variants, both of which are optimized for fuel efficiency rather than outright performance. The car boasts one of the best-designed interiors in its segment, with a premium feel and high-quality materials. The dashboard is well-laid out, and the instrument cluster is easy to read. The Eon Era also comes with essential features like power windows, an audio system with AUX and USB ports, and a drivers airbag in the top variant. However, it lacks a tachometer and has some issues with steering feedback at high speeds. The suspension setup, comprising McPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam axle at the rear, handles smooth roads well but can be uncomfortable on rough roads. Overall, its a solid choice for those looking for a reliable, feature-rich entry-level car for urban use.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hyundai Eon Era, although an older model, still holds its ground in the entry-level segment with its impressive styling and premium interior feel. The cars exterior design remains fresh even years after its launch, and the interior quality is a standout, especially considering its segment. However, the performance is tailored more for city driving, with the 3-cylinder engine providing decent throttle response and low-end power but lacking in outright performance. The ride quality is smooth on good roads but can be uncomfortable on rough terrain. The steering, while light and easy for city driving, lacks feedback at higher speeds. Overall, its a good choice for those prioritizing city driving and interior quality, but it may not be the best for highway enthusiasts.
Price
The Hyundai Eon Era, when it was available, was priced very competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price started around Rs. 3.65 lakh for the base variant, making it an attractive option for first-time car buyers. On-road prices varied depending on the state and local taxes but generally ranged from Rs. 4.2 lakh to Rs. 4.5 lakh. Given its features, build quality, and performance, the Eon Era offered good value for money, especially when compared to its rivals like the Maruti Alto 800 and Renault Kwid. However, its important to note that the Eon has been discontinued, so these prices are more of a historical reference.
Mileage
Thursday, 21 November 2024 06:33 PM The Hyundai Eon Era is designed to offer maximum fuel economy, which is a significant factor for many Indian buyers. The mileage is reported to be around 15-18 kmpl in city driving conditions, which is respectable for its segment. While the claimed mileage is higher, real-world usage typically falls within this range. This makes the Eon Era a cost-effective choice for daily commuting, especially in urban areas.

Why Six Variants? Make it 12 and add,one rear view mirror for the 7th, passenger side Mirror for the 8th and so on.This is a Gimmick, followed by all car makers. 3 Lakhs is the max one should pay for this car.(inclusive of power Steering, front door Power Windows.)Plenty more coming in this Segment.
