USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Honda Mobilio V is a solid choice for those seeking a reliable and spacious multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) in India. With its 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine or 1.5-liter i-DTEC diesel engine, it offers a good balance of performance and fuel efficiency. The vehicle is praised for its comfortable ride, ample space for passengers and luggage, and the convenience of tumble fold seats and rear AC vents. However, some users have noted that the interior could be improved, particularly the sound system, and the absence of features like parking sensors and electric mirrors in the base models. Despite these minor drawbacks, the Mobilio V remains a practical and comfortable option for family use or for those who need a versatile vehicle.
Price
The Honda Mobilio V, although discontinued since 2017, can still be considered in the used car market. When it was available, the ex-showroom prices for the Mobilio V variant ranged from approximately Rs. 9.57 lakh for the petrol version to Rs. 10.62 lakh for the diesel version. On-road prices would have been higher, typically adding around Rs. 1-2 lakh depending on the state and local taxes. If you are considering purchasing a used Mobilio V, prices can vary widely based on the condition, mileage, and location of the vehicle. Expect to pay anywhere from Rs. 5-8 lakh for a well-maintained model.
Latest Updates
Wednesday, 05 July 2017 09:45 AM Honda has officially stopped selling the Honda Mobilio in India due to poor demand. The company has removed the model from its official website, indicating a clear end to its sales in the Indian market. This decision follows a significant decline in sales over the past few years.
Thursday, 02 March 2017 02:19 PM The Honda Mobilio faced stiff competition from other MPVs like the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and the Toyota Innova, which led to its declining sales. The Ertigas updated design and competitive pricing further exacerbated the Mobilios struggles in the market. I think the Mobilios failure to adapt quickly to market changes was a major factor in its demise.
Tuesday, 28 February 2017 11:53 AM Despite its initial success, the Honda Mobilios sales began to sag, with only 441 units sold in January and 226 units in February of the same year. This poor sales performance hinted at the vehicles potential discontinuation. The rise of other MPVs and the Mobilios higher pricing compared to competitors contributed to its declining popularity.
Thursday, 12 January 2017 01:25 PM Honda introduced a facelift for the Mobilio in Indonesia, which included some cosmetic changes, but this update did not make its way to the Indian market. The facelift was aimed at reviving interest in the model but did not have a significant impact on its sales in India. I believe that bringing this facelift to India might have helped, but it was too little, too late.
Wednesday, 03 February 2016 06:49 PM Hondas decision to launch the BR-V, which is based on the Mobilio platform, further hinted at the Mobilios potential discontinuation. The BR-V was seen as a more modern and market-suited alternative, with its SUV-like design and better ground clearance. This move suggested that Honda was shifting focus away from the Mobilio.
Thursday, 15 January 2015 12:02 AM The Mobilios market position was also threatened by the launch of the Datsun Go+, a subcompact MPV that offered three rows of seats at a lower price point. Although the Go+ compromised on passenger space, its affordability made it an attractive option for many buyers. This added to the Mobilios struggles in maintaining its market share.
Friday, 02 January 2015 02:12 PM Honda had considered updating the Mobilio with new features and designs, but these plans never materialized in the Indian market. The lack of significant updates made the Mobilio seem outdated compared to its competitors, which continuously received updates and new features. I believe regular updates could have kept the Mobilio relevant.
Wednesday, 10 September 2014 03:23 PM The Honda Mobilio was initially a success when launched in India in July 2014, topping the sales charts and competing closely with the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. However, its sales began to decline over time due to various factors, including pricing and competition. The Mobilios spacious interior and powerful diesel engine were not enough to sustain its market position.
Wednesday, 23 July 2014 11:20 AM When launched, the Honda Mobilio was praised for its spacious cabin, comfortable ride, and good handling. It was built on an extended version of the Brio platform and followed Hondas Man maximum, machine minimum philosophy. However, over time, it failed to keep up with the evolving market demands and technological advancements. I think its initial success was overshadowed by its inability to adapt.
Wednesday, 23 July 2014 04:38 AM The Mobilios pricing was a significant factor in its declining sales. It was priced higher than its direct competitor, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which made it less attractive to budget-conscious buyers. Despite offering a good amount of space and a strong diesel engine, the premium pricing did not work in its favor.
Mileage
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 05:59 PM The Honda Mobilio V offers commendable mileage, making it a cost-effective choice for daily use. The petrol variant provides an ARAI-certified mileage of 17.3 kmpl, while the diesel variant achieves an impressive 24.2 kmpl. These figures are quite competitive in the MPV segment, helping to keep running costs manageable, especially for those who prioritize fuel efficiency.

I feel they must bring Climate control option soon to all their cars. Otherwise it will become too late for them to obtain their place in India. At the moment Hyundai is fast forward. The recent few launches under sub 10 lakhs cars already proved it.

Gorgeous MPV. Ertiga diesel was a failure. Specially diesel. This is more spacious than Ertiga. Not only that they had given a commanding ground clearance. Climate control is the only option missing. I trust Honda will note this point seriously for the next facelift.

Innova is great. It has more more power & torque in diesel. Toyota is a rated company world wide like Honda. Both have good build quality but in India Toyota is better.

This is Honda' s first Indian MPV. Climate control was not there in Innova at the beginning. After a long time it came. Just give some time for Honda as well. It is not that easy to launch a car in India. I am sure Honda will come to top within few years. For instance amaze. I feel they are slowly learning Indian roads. They are getting better & better on every new launch.

Brilliant Honda but U should have brought climate control at least for top end models of petrol & diesel. Waiting for Honda to bring the option in Brio, Amaze & Mobilio. Pls send the updates.
