Chevrolet India announced that it would discontinue the sales of all its products, including the Chevrolet Enjoy, in India effective December 31, 2017. This decision was part of the companys strategy to utilize its Indian facilities for export markets only. The Enjoy, despite its features, will no longer be available in the Indian market. I believe this move was a significant blow to Chevrolets presence in India, but it might have been necessary for their global strategy.

In 2017, Chevrolet launched a facelifted version of the Enjoy MPV in India, priced between Rs. 6.24 lakhs and Rs. 8.79 lakhs. Chevrolet introduced the Enjoy with two engine options: a 1.4-litre SMARTECH petrol engine and a 1.3-litre SMARTECH turbocharged DOHC diesel engine. The petrol engine produced 98.82 bhp at 6000 rpm, while the diesel engine offered 73.77 bhp at 4000 rpm. Both engines were mated to a five-speed manual transmission. I think the diesel engines performance, especially in city driving conditions, was a strong point for this vehicle.

The Chevrolet Enjoy was praised for its refined engines and composed ride, making it suitable for Indian driving conditions. However, it was noted that the NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) levels were high, and there was some body roll during cornering. Despite these issues, the vehicles handling was predictable. I believe that while the Enjoy had its strengths, it needed further refinement to compete with other MPVs in the market.

The Chevrolet Enjoy LS Petrol was priced competitively in the Indian market during its time. The ex-showroom price for the base model started at around Rs. 6.52 lakhs, while the on-road price would be approximately Rs. 8.37 lakhs, including additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other taxes. This pricing was part of Chevrolets strategy to compete with other MPVs like the Maruti Ertiga. However, with Chevrolet discontinuing its operations in India, these prices are now relevant only for used car purchases.

The Chevrolet Enjoy LS Petrol offers a mileage of 13.7 kmpl, as per ARAI certification. In real-world conditions, owners have reported mileage ranging from 12 to 15 kmpl, depending on driving conditions and usage. This mileage is relatively modest compared to diesel variants but is still manageable for those who prioritize petrol engines. For buyers concerned about running costs, this mileage should be factored into their decision, especially considering the inconsistent petrol prices in India.
