Yamaha has just released a teaser video of what looks to be the upcoming 2017 Yamaha YZF-R6. The video doesn’t reveal much except for a blurry image of a fully faired bike along with a screaming sound note of the engine. There are also a few other indicators of this motorcycle to be the Yamaha R6. With the Yamaha YZF-R1 soon turning two, the timing suggests it is time for a new Yamaha YZF-R6. Yamaha has gone ahead and posted this teaser video to its website and social media accounts. The video reveals the bare minimum, showing us the rider most of time. However, the race track and the sound of the motorcycle sure are strong giveaways. The R6 sounds like it will continue using an updated version of the inline four flatplane engine.

Thursday, 14 November 2024 11:36 PM The 2024 Yamaha YZF-R6 RACE has been unveiled, boasting a race-ready specification right out of the factory. This 600 Supersport is equipped with an aggressively styled body inspired by the M1 MotoGP bike, ensuring maximum aerodynamic efficiency. The bike features a lightweight 599cc inline four-cylinder engine, Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake (YCC-I), and Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T), along with a slipper clutch and Quick Shift System. I believe this makes it an unbeatable choice for track day riders and serious racers.
Sunday, 20 October 2024 02:58 PM Yamaha has introduced the 2024 YZF-R6 GYTR, a supersport bike designed exclusively for the racetrack. This model comes with special racing components from GYTR, including a race specification ECU, titanium Akrapovic exhaust system, and adjustable racing rear set. The R6 GYTR is built to enhance supersport racing performance and is available exclusively through Yamaha GYTR PRO SHOPS. I think the addition of these high-performance parts will give racers a significant edge on the track.
Wednesday, 09 October 2024 09:20 PM Despite the discontinuation of the street-legal Yamaha R6 in 2020, Yamaha has announced the 2025 YZF-R9, which is not a direct replacement but rather a new evolution in the supersport segment. The R9 combines track-capable performance with street bike accessibility, featuring a 890cc CP3 engine and advanced rider aids like a 6-axis IMU and lean-sensitive Traction Control System. I believe this new approach will appeal to a broader range of riders looking for both street and track performance.
Tuesday, 06 August 2024 09:32 PM The 2024 Yamaha YZF-R6 continues to dominate the supersport segment with its sleek, aggressive styling and advanced technology. The bike is powered by a 599cc inline four-cylinder engine and features Yamahas advanced ride-by-wire system, fully adjustable KYB suspension, and a comprehensive electronics package. The updated TFT display and multiple riding modes make it a top choice for sport bike enthusiasts. I think the blend of design, performance, and technology makes this bike hard to beat.
Monday, 15 July 2024 02:24 PM Yamaha has confirmed that the 2024 YZF-R6 RACE will be available in a single color option, Tech Black, and will be stripped of non-essential road components to make it ready for the track. This includes the removal of the headlight, position lights, mirrors, and passenger seat. The focus on track readiness and lightweight construction should make it a favorite among serious racers. I believe this stripped-down version will be a hit with those who prioritize track performance.

Yamaha R6 Review

16 Oct, 2024 12:00 AM

Overview

Yamaha is proud to unveil the 2008 Yamaha R6 motorcycle, featuring updated seat design and a new model designation on the tail fairing. The new Yamaha R6 features aggressive new styling with a sharp new color scheme, along with the smooth curve of the front from nose to fairing, and a more aggressive visor shape.

Yamaha R6 Price in India

So, let's dive straight into the biggest question: What is the price of Yamaha R6 in India? You already know you don’t see this beast at bike meets or showrooms every day. The price tag reflects that. At ?15-17 lakhs, pre tax, it’s a premium machine. That’s now, I understand, but believe that you are really getting your money’s worth from what the R6 has to offer. Yes, there’s cheaper out there, but come on, the R6 is for those not looking for a cheap skate machine. When your heart starts to quicken just from staring at it, let alone while twisting the throttle, you know it’s the kind of bike that’ll put some ass into your day. The R6 will make your day if you’re that guy — if you’re the kind of person who craves pure speed and pinpoint handling, and couldn’t care less about practical stuff like fuel economy or cargo space. If track days are you thing, this bike? They are, actually, your soulmate on two wheels.

Yamaha R6 Specs

Ok, so now that that’s all cleared up, let’s get into the meat and potatoes of what makes the Yamaha R6 an absolute beast of machine.

-Engine: Inline 4-cylinder, liquid cooled, 599cc.
-Power: 117.4 PS at 14,500 rpm
-Torque: 61.7 Nm at 10,500 rpm
-Transmission: 6-speed
-Top Speed: It’s fast enough to make your eyes water, doing 262 km/h.
-Weight: 190 kg
Right now, sitting on the R6 feels like we're flying just a few inches above the ground. But it’s not simply a matter of being quick straight line either—this thing corners like a rail. It’s almost like the R6 knows what you’re going to be thinking. That killer suspension and lightweight frame just leans it into a curve, and its just flowing with you. Did you ever own a bike which just felt like an adjunct to your own body? That’s well how it feels with the R6. It just all clicks, twist and turn.

Mileage of Yamaha R6

Okay, we’ve got to talk mileage, though that’s probably the last thing on your mind when looking at a motor like this. Let’s be real: No one wants to save on fuel and go for an R6 either. If you're wondering, you'll want nearly 15 miles to the gallon, give or take, depending on how heavy your right hand is. It’s pretty grim and let me tell you, when you are ripping down the highway at full tilt, that fuel gauge? It's gonna dip pretty fast once yeah. Of course, this isn’t really what this bike is about, either.

My Take on the Yamaha R6

Alright, let’s be personal for a second. The R6 isn’t just a bike you ride, it’s a bike you experience. From getting through the twisties on a Sunday morning to letting it hang out on track; every single one is an adventure. It’s not the most comfortable bike for highway cruising, but honestly who buys a supersport for comfort? I love the thrill and this bike has plenty of that. The R6 is in its element in India, where you have everything from wide open highways to narrow crowded street, and shine as you can get it open and breathe. Is this overkill for your commute? Yeah, probably. But who cares? It’s impractical, but nobody cares about the impracticality because it’s just really, really fun. Each ride is like a little escape from the day to day thing.

Review of Yamaha R6

I mean, if you’re anything like me, you want a bike that looks fast, and feels fast. While the Yamaha R6 is a show horse by looks, it’s a cheetah on wheels, it is always looking to pounce. It’s not a bike you would casually ride to work. Non, ce n’est pas celle que l’on prend pour se rappeler pourquoi on s’est mis à aimer les motos. It’s smooth power when you need it, let me tell you, however, when you crack that throttle open it’s like you just mashed the turbo button. The quick shifter is beautiful too—a buttery piece of perfection, every gear change. You're just chasing the redline constantly as you should be on this kind of ride and honestly half the fun of the ride is doing that. One thing though: The R6 is not for the faint hearted. This bike demands respect. You can’t just hop on expecting a lazy cruise; it’s not designed for that. You’ve got to be on alert and on guard but if you pay it the attention that it deserves, then it will surprise you with some of the best rides of your life.

Pics of Yamaha R6

The R6 is that where you imagine sleek aerodynamic lines mixed with aggressive styling. Just sitting there, it looks fast. This bike is a head turner in though its sculpted bodywork, top of the line tech, and a whole lot more. If you haven't already, you have to see some high res shots of it in action. It’s beautiful whether you’re tearing up a racetrack or standing still.

Is the Yamaha R6 worth it?

Is the Yamaha R6 worth its money? For me, it’s a no-brainer. If pure, unfiltered performance is what you’re after, and you can’t get enough of a bike that virtually seems to be built for track, the R6 is the bike. Yeah, it isn’t the most functional option for running around town picking up stuff and delivering stuff every day, but practicality is the last thing on your mind when you have a machine like this to play with. At the end of the day it is if you are all about the thrill of the ride the Yamaha R6 delivers in every way that matters. It’s just fast, it’s just nimble and it’s just got that, that x factor that makes every ride feel special. It’s not just riding on a bike; So, you are going to buy memories.

Discussions and Answers Yamaha R6

Why is Yamaha R6 so fast?
21 September 2023 06:34

Yamaha R6 has 599cc liquid-cooled engine produced a peak of 120 horsepower and a top speed of 161.5 MPH, which was not only a significant increase over their '97 Thundercat's 97.21 horsepower/153.3 MPH top speed, but also demonstrated an improvement against other 600 class competitors.

Does The Yamaha R6 Have a fuel Gauge?
21 September 2023 06:22

The Yamaha YZF R6 lacks fuel gauge, it has a fuel warning light that will let the rider know when it is time to refuel. Additionally, the fuel tank capacity of the Yamaha YZF R6 is 4.6 gallons, and a general rule of thumb is to refuel when the fuel light comes on that is usually around 1 gallon of fuel left.

Does The Yamaha R6 Have a Quick Shifter?
21 September 2023 06:27

Yes, the Yamaha R6 does have a quick shifter. You can change gears without using the clutch due to this clever innovation, which makes it simpler to do so swiftly and smoothly.

Does The Yamaha R6 Have a Gear Indicator?
21 September 2023 06:29

The Yamaha R6 does indeed have a gear indicator. It is located on the dashboard and is quite easy to use. It makes it simpler to shift and control your speed because it enables you to immediately and precisely determine whatever gear you are in.

How Many Miles Can a Yamaha R6 Last?
21 September 2023 06:31

The Yamaha YZF R6 has a maximum range of approximately 150 miles on a full tank of fuel. However, this range can change based on riding conditions and style. For example, if you ride aggressively, you may notice a decrease in the range. Additionally, in colder climates, the range may be even less due to a decrease in fuel efficiency.

R6 good for daily use

You can ride a Yamaha YZF-R6 every day. Many people do. Even though it's not built for everyday riding, it'll deal with it. In fact, sport bikes can be quite adept at navigating through traffic, as they're so small and narrow.
