Yamaha has announced the 2025 YZF-R9, a new Supersport bike designed for accessible performance on both the street and the track. The R9 features a dedicated Supersport chassis, a comprehensive electronics suite, and Yamaha’s renowned CP3 powerplant. It will be available in March 2025 for $12,499 MSRP. I think this is a great move by Yamaha to cater to a broader range of riders.

The 2025 YZF-R3 has received significant updates, including new generation R-Series styling, improved ergonomics, modern LED lighting, and a new Assist & Slipper clutch. These changes aim to enhance performance, practicality, and style, making it a perfect choice for both new and experienced riders.

Yamaha has confirmed that the 2024 model year will be the last for the street version of the YZF-R1. However, there is speculation that a next-generation R1 model might be in development, although Yamaha has not officially commented on this. I believe this could be a strategic move to focus on other models or to comply with upcoming regulations.

The 2025 YZF-R7 will return unchanged, maintaining its position as a middleweight sport bike with a 689cc DOHC twin-cylinder engine and sharp handling capabilities. This bike is designed for riders who want a manageable yet performance-oriented ride. I think the R7 fills a crucial gap in Yamahas lineup.
