Our take on this /// Verdict
The TVS iQube 09 is a mixed bag, offering several compelling features but also some areas that need improvement. On the positive side, it is incredibly silent and responsive, making it a joy to navigate through urban traffic. The scooters performance is satisfactory, accelerating from 0-40 kmph in about 4.2 seconds, although its top speed is limited to 75 kmph. The design, while not revolutionary, is practical and similar to conventional scooters, which may appeal to those looking for a familiar riding experience. However, the service experience has been a significant concern for many users, with complaints about poor communication and delayed repairs. Overall, the iQube 09 is a good option for daily city commutes, but potential buyers should be aware of the service issues and the need for TVS to enhance their after-sales support.

The TVS iQube 09 is priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom prices start at around Rs. 1.07 lakh for the base 2.2 kWh variant, going up to Rs. 1.36 lakh for the 3.4 kWh variant. On-road prices, including registration, insurance, and other charges, can range from approximately Rs. 1.20 lakh to Rs. 1.50 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. Given the features and performance, the pricing is reasonable, especially considering the festive offers and subsidies that can further reduce the cost. However, the price variation across different states due to varying tax structures is something to keep in mind when making a purchase decision.
TVS iQube 09 on road price is Rs 97,299 with subsidy in Delhi, Rs 1.08 lakh with subsidy in Mumbai, Rs 1.07 lakh with subsidy in Kolkata and Rs 1.08 lakh with subsidy in Chennai. The prices mentioned here are approximate and we suggest you contact your nearest TVS dealership to get the exact on-road price quote in your city.

TVS Motor Company has initiated a voluntary recall for the TVS iQube electric scooters manufactured between July 10, 2023, and September 9, 2023, to inspect the bridge tube of the chassis. This recall affects around 40,000 to 45,000 units sold during this period and is a precautionary measure to ensure good ride handling over extended usage. The inspection and any necessary rectifications will be done at no cost to the customers. I believe this proactive step by TVS shows their commitment to customer safety and satisfaction.

TVS Motor Company has expanded its presence in the French market by partnering with Emil Frey, a century-old firm, for the distribution of its premium offerings. This move is part of TVSs strategy to chart a path into international markets. I think this is a significant step for TVS in terms of global expansion and could open up new opportunities for the company.

The TVS iQube electric scooter has seen a price adjustment due to the revised FAME II subsidy by the Indian government. This subsidy has made the iQube more affordable, aligning with the governments push for electric mobility. I believe this price cut will make the iQube more appealing to potential buyers looking for an economical and environmentally friendly option.

Ex Showroom Price vs On Road Price | Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges. |
