General information and overview

The TVS Ntorq 125 is a 124.8 cc, air-cooled, fuel-injected scooter that blends sporty styling with practical features tailored for Indian roads. It weighs about 118 kg and comes with a 5.8-litre fuel tank, striking a good balance for agility and range. Key highlights include a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, real-time navigation, and customizable ride modes on select variants. The scooter generates competitive power for its class and handles varied urban terrain capably, though the heavy steering can be a drawback in tight traffic. Safety features include front disc brakes with optional ABS. Its urban-centric design prioritizes tech, aesthetics, and performance over outright mileage or soft ride comfort. The Ntorq 125 appeals most to younger riders seeking a fun, feature-rich scooter that stands out rather than a simple commuter vehicle.

The TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP packs a 124.8cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces over 10 horsepower, distinguishing it in the 125cc segment. It features multiple ride modes—such as Urban and Sport—and includes tech-savvy touches like a Bluetooth-enabled TFT display with voice assist, navigation support, and customizable settings, enhancing rider convenience. The scooter sports a muscular design with sharp graphics, LED lights, and a digital instrument cluster. It weighs around 118 kg and offers a 770mm seat height that provides a sporty riding posture. Front telescopic suspension and rear monoshock contribute to handling agility suitable for city traffic. Fuel tank capacity stands at 5.8 liters. The Ntorq 125 aims to blend performance, style, and connectivity, appealing to younger buyers who want more than just a commuter scooter on Indian roads.

Our Verdict

Expert opinion and recommendation

The TVS Ntorq 125 stands out in the 125cc scooter segment primarily for its sporty design, sharp performance, and feature-rich package, including a digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity. It delivers a peppy engine response with a top speed around 95 km/h, making city rides and short highway trips enjoyable. However, its relatively heavy steering and slightly stiff suspension can affect maneuverability in congested urban traffic. Maintenance costs and parts prices tend to be higher compared to other scooters in this category. The mileage realistically ranges between 40 to 45 kmpl in everyday use, which is moderate but acceptable given the performance on offer. It suits buyers looking for style and spirited performance, but if low running costs or softer ride comfort are priorities, other scooters may be preferable. Overall, the Ntorq 125 offers a dynamic riding experience with premium features but demands acceptance of its higher upkeep and middling mileage.

The TVS Ntorq 125 stands out as a sporty and feature-rich scooter designed for urban riders who seek performance with style. Its aggressive design, sharp handling, and peppy 125cc engine make it a strong contender in its segment. The Race XP variant adds more power, voice assistant, and multiple ride modes, enhancing the overall riding experience. The scooter balances agility and technology well, catering to both daily commuting and occasional spirited rides. However, its relatively lower mileage compared to some competitors and higher maintenance costs may be points to consider for budget-conscious buyers. The seat height and firm suspension offer good control but may be slightly challenging in heavy traffic or for shorter riders. Overall, it’s a compelling choice if you prioritize dynamic performance and modern features in a compact package suited for Indian city roads.

Latest Updates

Recent news and announcements

I've been eagerly tracking the TVS Entorq, the anticipated 212.5cc liquid-cooled scooter that's set to shake up India's premium segment with its expected price around Rs 1.2 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. Recent buzz points to it as a high-performance evolution from TVS's Ntorq lineup, featuring a single-cylinder fuel-injected engine, automatic transmission, and an 8.5-litre fuel tank for longer rides. While full specs like power and torque remain under wraps, whispers suggest it builds on the Ntorq 150's sporty DNA with aero-inspired design, advanced connectivity, and superior handling tailored for urban chaos and highway blasts. In India, it's positioned as a step above the current 150cc offerings, promising quicker acceleration and stability without sacrificing practicality—perfect for riders craving more grunt than the 125 or 150 variants provide. No launch date yet, but with TVS's rapid updates on Ntorq colors and pricing, I expect Entorq to debut soon, potentially stealing thunder from rivals like Yamaha Aerox or Aprilia SR in the hyper-sport scooter race. Can't wait to test its real-world punch on pothole-ridden streets.

The TVS Entorq remains one of the most anticipated scooters in India, with its 212.5cc liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine promising superior performance over the Ntorq lineup, though official power and torque figures are yet to be revealed. Expected to launch around Rs 1.20 lakh ex-showroom Delhi, it features an 8.5-litre fuel tank and automatic transmission tailored for urban agility and highway sprints. I've been tracking its concept reveals closely, noting the aggressive front three-quarter design and premium build that positions it as a premium contender against sporty 150-200cc rivals. Ground clearance and ergonomics seem optimized for Indian roads, with flat floors and upright seating for daily commutes, while the single-cylinder setup hints at refined NVH levels. Recent buzz suggests TVS is finalizing variants like the Entorq 210 with advanced electronics, but no confirmed launch date yet—I'm eager to test its real-world punch, as the Ntorq 150's iGO assist success sets high expectations for this bigger sibling's torque delivery and top-end stability. It could redefine sporty family scootering if priced competitively.

I've been riding the TVS Ntorq 150 extensively around Delhi's chaotic traffic and highways, and it stands out as the quickest scooter in its class with a 149.7cc liquid-cooled engine pumping out 13.2hp and 14.2Nm of torque, hitting 0-60kph in just 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 109kph on the speedo. The iGO Assist mild-hybrid system adds a subtle 0.6-0.7Nm boost for effortless overtakes, paired with Street and Race modes that make city sprints thrilling yet controllable. Its 12-inch wheels deliver a compliant ride over potholes without the harshness of 14-inch rivals, while the wide, cushioned seat handles pillion duties comfortably up to 85kph stability. Fuel economy impresses at 47kpl city and 50kpl highway in my tests, backed by a 5.8-litre tank. The quad-projector headlight pierces the night superbly, and the top TFT variant's 5-inch display with navigation, Alexa integration, and traction control feels premium. Priced from Rs 1.09 lakh ex-showroom for the base to Rs 1.18 lakh for TFT, it's a practical upgrade over the 125, blending sporty fun with daily usability minus the loud color options that might not suit everyone.

I've been riding the TVS Ntorq 150 extensively across Indian cities lately, and it's proving to be the quickest scooter in its class with a punchy 149.7cc liquid-cooled engine churning out 13.2hp and 14.2Nm torque, hitting 0-60kmph in just 6.3 seconds and a top speed of 104kmph. The Integrated Starter Generator with iGO Assist delivers seamless silent starts and a subtle 0.6Nm electric boost for effortless overtakes, while real-world tests show impressive city mileage of 46.9kpl and highway figures around 49.9kpl. I love the stable ride from its 12-inch wheels and compliant suspension that handles potholes without thudding, plus the wide, cushioned seat perfect for two-up commuting even at 80-85kmph. The quad-projector headlight lights up night rides brilliantly, and the top TFT variant's 5-inch display with Street and Race modes, traction control, and connected features like navigation elevates it above rivals. Available in vibrant colors from Rs 1.09 lakh ex-showroom for the base to Rs 1.18 lakh for TFT, it's sporty yet practical for daily Indian roads, though the loud palette might not suit everyone. This upgrade from the 125cc nails fun without sacrificing usability.

TVS Motor Company has introduced new colour variants for the TVS NTorq 125 and the NTorq 125 Race XP, including Turquoise, Harlequin Blue, and Nardo Grey for the base model, and a Matte Black Special Edition for the Race XP. These new colours aim to cater to diverse consumer preferences and reflect modern design trends. The scooters also feature advanced technologies like Bluetooth connectivity, a fully digital display, and dual ride modes. I think these new colours will definitely appeal to the younger audience.

Price

Pricing details and changes

The TVS Ntorq 125 Disc variant is priced around Rs. 87,500 ex-showroom in key markets like Delhi, with Race Edition and Race XP versions going up to approximately Rs. 98,000. On-road prices add RTO charges, insurance, and registration fees, which typically take the cost to around Rs. 1.00 lakh in metro cities. These prices position the Ntorq as a premium 125cc scooter in India, reflecting its tech-laden features and sporty appeal. From a buyer's perspective, the premium over basic commuter scooters is justified by the extra performance, looks, and connected features but demands higher initial investment and more expensive maintenance. Consider your budget alongside the total cost of ownership, including fuel and upkeep, when evaluating the Ntorq 125 as an option in the competitive 125cc segment.

In India, the TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP variant is priced approximately between Rs 96,000 to Rs 1.17 lakh ex-showroom depending on the city, with on-road prices varying typically from around Rs 1.01 lakh to Rs 1.16 lakh due to differing state taxes and registration fees. For example, in Delhi the on-road price is about Rs 1.02 lakh, while it can be slightly higher in metro cities like Bangalore and Chennai owing to local taxation. This pricing positions it competitively among performance-oriented 125cc scooters, offering premium features at a mid-tier price point. The on-road cost makes it accessible for young riders and working professionals, but potential buyers should be aware of additional expenses like insurance and periodic maintenance. Given its feature set and sporty appeal, the price reflects good value, although customers seeking the lowest cost of ownership might look at more mileage-oriented scooters.

Mileage

Fuel efficiency information

The Ntorq 125 has an ARAI-certified mileage of 48.5 kmpl, but real-world figures typically range from 40 to 45 kmpl depending on riding conditions and style. This moderate fuel efficiency balances its spirited performance, making it reasonable for city commuting but not the most economical option if mileage is your top priority. Expect running costs to be slightly higher versus some rivals, so weigh this if you emphasize fuel savings.
December 2, 2025
The Ntorq 125 delivers real-world mileage in the range of 40 to 44 kmpl, with an ARAI-certified figure around 48 to 50 kmpl. This mileage is moderate for a 125cc scooter with sporty tuning and may result in higher fuel expenses compared to more efficiency-focused competitors. If fuel economy and running costs are your priority, this scooter is suitable but not class-leading. Riders who want a dynamic ride but are mindful of mileage should consider the balance between performance and fuel usage before finalizing their purchase.
