USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Terra A4000i is a pioneering electric scooter that made its mark at the Auto Expo 2014. From my perspective, this scooter stands out for its innovative features and robust specifications. The integration with an iPhone to display vital information such as electricity consumption, remaining battery, and GPS navigation is a significant selling point. However, the compatibility being limited to iPhone users might be a drawback for some potential buyers. The scooters performance, with a top speed of 65 kmh and a range of 65 km on a single charge, is respectable for daily commuting. The removable lithium battery, which can be charged in 4.5 hours, adds convenience. Overall, the Terra A4000i is a solid choice for those looking for an eco-friendly and technologically advanced scooter, but it may not be the best fit for everyone due to its specific smartphone compatibility and relatively high weight.
Price
The Terra A4000i is expected to be priced around 1.10 lakhs ex-showroom in India, although this figure may vary depending on the region and local taxes. On-road prices would likely be higher, possibly in the range of 1.20 to 1.30 lakhs, considering registration, insurance, and other costs. While this pricing is competitive in the electric scooter segment, it is still on the higher side compared to some conventional scooters. However, the advanced technology, long battery life, and the convenience of a removable battery might justify the cost for many buyers. Its important to note that these prices are estimates and actual costs may differ when the scooter is available in the market.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 10:28 AM The Terra A4000i offers a mileage of around 65 km on a single charge, which is quite satisfactory for daily commuting needs. The lithium batterys long life cycle of 50,000 km further enhances the scooters value, reducing the need for frequent battery replacements. This makes the A4000i a cost-effective option in the long run, especially considering the lower running costs associated with electric vehicles.

Terra Motors is a company of Japan that is specialized in manufacturing electric motorcycles and scooters. The company was established in April 2010 and has its headquarters in Shibuya Udagawa-cho, Tokyo, Japan. The representative director of the company is Tokushige Toru. Recently Terra Motors announced to launch the e-scooters A4000 and its upgraded wireless smart-phone installed version A4000i which will make its entrance in the Indian market by the end of 2014.

Terra A4000i will be a two passenger e-scooter with a small LCD display on its console with an i-Phone dock. The i-Phone model should have 3G or higher to be compatible and it will be placed in that dock in Landscape mode. It will then be connected to Terra's cloud-based service and with the help of an app will provide a real-time information of power consumption, remaining battery life, trip stats such as duration, distance and average/maximum speed and mapping data for GPS navigation. Terra A4000i has a rear in-wheel motor powered by a removable, 16kgs, 40V40Ah and Lithium battery of under 1000W rating output. This battery gives a lifetime of 50,000kms (may vary), provides am estimated range of 65kms (may vary) and takes 4.5 hours to charge from 0-100%. As the battery is a removable one, it can also be uninstalled and you can carry it inside your house for charging but it weighs almost 16kgs. Terra A4000i has a maximum speed of 65kmph and weighs about 118kgs.

Terra 4000i has a length of 1790mm, width of 750mm and height of 1230mm as its dimension and has a good wheelbase of 1280mm for a stable ride. It has 140mm of ground clearance, 750mm of sheet height and 15degrees of climbing ability. It has disk brakes in front and rear wheels. It has 120/70-12inch front tire and 130/60-13inch rear tire. It also has a under seat storage space and a bag hook. Terra 4000i is a variant of Terra 4000. It will be available in a mixture of White and Black with Blue lines running from front to rear. It has an expected price of around INR 1.10lakhs which may vary.

Overall, Terra 4000i looks like an advanced and futuristic e-scooter with good performance, safety and good battery life. Also it will be an environment friendly scooter and thus, may create a good market for itself.
