Our take on this /// Verdict
The Vespa LX 125 is a scooter that embodies a perfect blend of retro styling and modern performance. While it excels in its city-friendly maneuverability and strong engine performance, producing 10.06 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 10.6 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM, it does come with some drawbacks. The scooters high-speed stability is compromised due to its narrower tires, and the brakes, particularly the front drum brake, could be more effective. Despite these issues, the Vespa LX 125s stylish design, comfortable ride quality, and robust engine make it a compelling choice for those looking for a lifestyle product that turns heads. However, the premium pricing and mixed reviews on after-sales service are factors to consider before making a purchase.
Price
The Vespa LX 125 is priced at a premium in the Indian market. At the time of its launch, the ex-showroom price in India was around Rs 66,000 to Rs 66,661, depending on the location. On-road prices would typically include additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, pushing the total cost to around Rs 75,000 to Rs 80,000. This pricing places the Vespa LX 125 significantly higher than many of its competitors, making it a lifestyle investment rather than a purely practical purchase. The high price is justified by its unique design, quality build, and the prestige of owning a Vespa, but it may deter budget-conscious buyers.
Latest Updates
Thursday, 30 June 2022 05:16 PM The Vespa LX 125 has been discontinued in India as of June 2022. This decision was likely due to the scooters high price tag and relatively low sales numbers. I believe this move might be a strategic step to focus on more competitive models in the Indian market.
Friday, 15 October 2021 10:11 PM Vespa and Aprilia announced festive discounts for their scooters, including the Vespa LX 125, with benefits worth up to Rs 10,000. This was part of their efforts to boost sales during the festive season. I think such offers can be a great incentive for potential buyers looking for a premium scooter.
Sunday, 01 August 2021 02:25 PM Vespa India introduced a More With Morya offer for their scooter portfolio, including the LX 125, which included a scratch card with assured cashback up to Rs 20,000. This offer was available at select dealerships in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan. I believe such promotional offers can help attract more customers, especially in regions where the brand has a strong presence.
Sunday, 14 February 2021 12:41 AM The Vespa LX 125 was known for its unique design and high build quality, featuring a chrome-accented body and wider tubeless tyres. Despite its premium feel, the scooters high price point made it less competitive in the Indian market. I think the design and build quality were definitely standout features, but the pricing was a significant barrier for many buyers.
Tuesday, 24 December 2019 02:43 PM Piaggio India launched the BS-VI compliant version of the Vespa LX 125 in December 2019. The new model adhered to the stricter emission norms and featured a refined 125cc air-cooled engine. I believe the transition to BS-VI was a necessary step to comply with environmental regulations, and its good to see Vespa adapting to these changes.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 09:07 PM The mileage of the Vespa LX 125 is a mixed bag. While it is capable of delivering around 45 kml when driven sedately, real-world mileage often falls short, with many users reporting figures closer to 35-40 kml. This variability is largely dependent on driving habits and maintenance. For those concerned about running costs, its important to note that the scooters fuel efficiency is decent but not exceptional, especially considering its premium pricing.

Superb City Drivability with Good Highway Performance

Piaggio Vespa is a best two-wheeler I have seen in my life. Its looks are just amazing that every head turns once when it run on the road. Well, I have Yellow colored Vespa and I enjoyed every ride on it. It is best option for the people from 16 to 55 years old. The strongest point of this scooter is the way it maneuvered in the traffic. It can take every crack and corner of traffic with ease. It comes equipped with powerful braking system which gives enough confidence at higher speed. There are two storage space provided in this scooter which is very useful in carrying stuff. I always put my handbag safely in front space and my other important stuff in under seat storage. Then comes the effectiveness of the headlamps that lights up the path very well and make my night drive easy for me. At the end, I must say its a best life style product.

Five months back I purchased my Vespa LX 125 from Mohali. It offers amazing city drivability with good highway performance. I looks good but it also costs a lot of money. The self start option of the scooter allows a problem free ride form the initial stages. When it is stuck the self start option perform its duty well. It is easy to handle in both cities as well as on highways. The seat is comfortable for the rider and is quite wide and has a good grip, as in you do not move in the seat during braking. It is very light and nimble so while driving this scooter you will feel out of the world. It has less storage space for storing things as compared to Honda Activa. Producing 10 BHP of power and 10.60 Nm of torque, the scooter is by far the most powerful scooter in India. The build quality is pretty good and you can also see some small small innovations that make it unique and special.

Best Features: Good Build Qulaity

Pros: Good mileage, good build quality, fine looks

Cons: High price, limited sales and service outlets, less storage space
