Mahindra Centuro Rockstar Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
Mahindra has been a long standing player in the four wheeler segment but its entry in the two wheeler segment can be a game changer for the company. Centuro has been given a minor facelift for increasing the style appeal and the name has been given with a suitable touch 'Rockstar'.
Design and Style
Centuro Rockstar comes with signature golden ribs, which differentiate it from every bike present in its segment, thus making it a style statement. Following the same chassis, the bold body graphics easily marks all the differences from its predecessor. Use of chrome on the exhaust simply increases its beauty.
Instrument Console
Mahindra offers a mix of digital and analog meter for the bike with a well-managed arrangement of all the units in a single console. Analog speedometer and fuel indicator are to the right of the digital display which server all the other purposes of the rider.
Engine & Performance
Centuro family shares the same engine through every model which is a 106.7 cc single cylinder air-cooled Microchip ignited-5 curve, 4 stroke engine which produces a peak of 8.5 Bhp @ 7500 rpm and a torque of 8.5 Nm @ 5500 rpm. It is mated to a 4 speed manual gearbox.
Comfort while Riding
Mahindra has manufactured the Centuro family by taking care of all the basic needs of a rider. It has a standard seating position on which a person of any age can easily sit and the long seat provides an each sitting experience on longer rides also.
Mileage
Centuro bikes are pocket friendly as they return a mileage of 68-70 kmpl on highway and 60-62 kmpl on the hectic city roads.
Brakes and Suspension
Mahindra has used the most commonly used 130 mm drum brake combo for the front and rear wheels. The bike rides on a hydraulic, coil spring 5-step adjustable suspension which is a nice one for the rider's comfort level.
Ride and Handling
Thanks to the large 18 inch tyre size which provide a hassle free ride throughout the way, no matter how long it seems. Handling at higher speeds may sound difficult due to the drum brakes only.
Variants
Centuro Rockstar is available in two variants, one with self-start and the other with kick start.
Shades
Rockstar is available in a combination of black and red, with a golden stripe matching its golden rib structure.
Price
Centuro Rockstar kick start version is available for 42,950 INR and the self-start version can be availed in 45,250 INR.
Verdict
Making its mark in the two wheeler segment won't be easy for the Centuro but the features like remote flip key, anti-theft alarm and guide lamps can prove to be useful for its success.

User Reviews for Mahindra Centuro
Mahindra Centuro Bike
Mahindra Centuro Red Color Bike. I have been using it since 2013, This is one of the best bike for me. People may not believe that after buying only free Servicing has been done and after that, I just changed engine oils as per the needs. Till today my bike is in new condition. The color is the same. Even i have not at all changed any parts. Thanks to Mahindra. I have a request to you must have service center for this particular bike. Thanks.
Mahindra Centuro NXT is superb
80 kmpl of mileage, smooth ride quality and impressive acceleration makes it a superb package. It even rides well in hilly areas.
Best Features: Good looks and mileage
Pros: Good pickup
Cons: No complaints
Never Expected Such a Bad Vehicle from Mahindra
The worst Bike that ever had. The engine is just like the engine of Scooty. Vehicle gets vibrate after getting speed of 40 KM/hr. Very good and impressing overall look, but useless bike. Never go for this bike. I lost my Rs.51000/-
Best Features: Nothing to say about good features
Pros: Overall shape
Cons: The worst Bike that ever had. The engine is just like the engine of Scooty
WORSE THAN THE WORST BIKE
I purchased Pantero in 2013 in Chennai and since purchase to till date, it is giving a lot of troubles. Very horrible bike and it is a curse to purchase this bike. I am told by the showroom people that Centuro too is having similar type of engine and other specifications except few. Therefore I request every one not to purchase the Centuro. For poor performance of Pantero, I am going to file a complaint against Mahindra in consumer forum. My email is kslnarain@gmail.com and contact no. 98814154888.
Best Features: ONLY LOOKS AND SEAT LENGTH
Pros: NOTHING TO SAY
Cons: MANY THINGS TO BE DISLIKED
Not a Worthy Investment
Buying a bike was not an easy decision for me. I was quite confused while purchasing new bike so after long research I was planning to go with Mahindra Centuro. Looks and design wise, I am quite satisfied and happy with my motorcycle. Its elegant looks and whole muscular body looks great and it fully satisfy my needs. It has a comfortable pillion seat but needs more improvement specially for the rider. It offers a maximum speed of 105 kmph. The motorcycle does not vibrate up to 70 kmph but as you moves higher and cross 75+ kmph it starts vibrating. It is equipped with 18-inch wheels, it's ride and handling balance is terrific. If you are searching for a bike with a good mileage this bike is definitely not meant for you, and the engine also does not seem to give you a tension free ride in the long run, but the looks and features may attract you and another positive thing for the bike is it's pricing.
Best Features: Stylish & Economical
Pros: Economical, comfortable pillion seat, stylish
Cons: Vibration
