Our take on this /// Verdict
The Mahindra Centuro Rockstar is a compelling package for anyone looking for a reliable and performance-oriented commuter bike in India. From my experience, this bike stands out with its smooth ride quality, impressive acceleration, and confident handling. The dynamics of the Centuro Rockstar are particularly noteworthy, making it a joy to ride both in city traffic and on highways. The bikes stability, even at high speeds, is impressive, thanks to its well-tuned chassis and premium MRF tyres. However, the slightly higher kerb weight and the occasional jerk at 3000 RPM are minor drawbacks. Overall, the Centuro Rockstar offers a great balance of performance, reliability, and value for money, making it a strong contender in its segment.
Price
The Mahindra Centuro Rockstar is priced competitively in the Indian market. As of my last update, the ex-showroom price for the Centuro Rockstar typically ranges between Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 60,000, depending on the region and any local taxes. On-road prices, including registration, insurance, and other costs, can range from Rs. 65,000 to Rs. 75,000. This pricing makes the Centuro Rockstar an attractive option for those seeking a feature-rich and performance-driven commuter bike without breaking the bank. The value-for-money proposition is further enhanced by the inclusion of standard accessories like mirrors, engine guard, and saree guard.
Latest Updates
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 02:13 PM The Mahindra Centuro Rockstar has been updated with a new design for the 2024 model, featuring a sleeker front fascia and revamped tail lights. The bike now comes with an LED tail lamp, enhancing its visual appeal. I think this update will attract more buyers looking for a stylish commuter bike.
Tuesday, 15 October 2024 08:43 PM Mahindra has announced a price hike for the Centuro Rockstar, with the new on-road price starting at Rs. 43.25 K. This increase is attributed to rising production costs and market conditions. Despite the hike, the bike remains a competitive option in the commuter segment.
Friday, 20 September 2024 06:16 AM The Mahindra Centuro Rockstar boasts an impressive fuel efficiency of 60 kmpl, making it a favorite among daily commuters. Its air-cooled, 107cc engine provides a balance between power and economy. I believe this fuel efficiency is a significant selling point in the Indian market.
Sunday, 25 August 2024 09:01 PM Mahindra has introduced new color schemes for the Centuro Rockstar, aiming to appeal to a wider audience. The bike is now available in several vibrant colors, adding to its aesthetic appeal. This move is expected to boost sales, especially among younger buyers.
Wednesday, 10 July 2024 08:39 PM The Centuro Rockstar features a robust double cradle-tubular chassis, providing stability and durability. Its telescopic front suspension and coiled 5-step adjustable rear suspension ensure a smooth ride. I think this chassis design is one of the bikes strongest points.
Saturday, 15 June 2024 07:14 PM Mahindra has emphasized the safety features of the Centuro Rockstar, although it does not come with ABS. The bike is equipped with alloy wheels and a multi-reflector headlight, enhancing visibility and safety. However, the absence of ABS might be a concern for some buyers.
Monday, 20 May 2024 03:01 PM The Mahindra Centuro Rockstar is powered by a 107cc engine that produces 8.5 PS of power at 7,500 rpm and 8.5 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. This power output is sufficient for urban commuting and light off-road use. I believe the engine performance is well-suited for Indian road conditions.
Thursday, 25 April 2024 09:15 AM Mahindra has highlighted the convenience features of the Centuro Rockstar, including an electric start, analogue speedometer, and a tachometer. The bike also comes with a pass light and a clock, adding to its practicality. These features make it a user-friendly option for daily riders.
Friday, 15 March 2024 06:06 PM The Centuro Rockstar has a ground clearance of 173 mm, which is adequate for navigating Indian roads. Its seat height of 800 mm makes it accessible to riders of various heights. I think this ground clearance and seat height combination is a significant advantage.
Saturday, 10 February 2024 01:35 PM Mahindra has confirmed that the Centuro Rockstar will continue to be a key model in their lineup for 2024, with no major changes in its mechanical specifications. The focus remains on providing a reliable and efficient commuter bike.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 01:41 PM When it comes to mileage, the Mahindra Centuro Rockstar delivers respectable figures, though they might not be the highest in its class. With a combined mileage of around 53 kml, and city and highway mileages of 49 kml and 58 kml respectively, the bike strikes a balance between performance and fuel efficiency. While the mileage could be better, the reliability and smooth engine performance make up for it, ensuring that the running costs remain manageable.

Mahindra Centuro Rockstar Review

13 Jan, 2016 05:30 AM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Mahindra has been a long standing player in the four wheeler segment but its entry in the two wheeler segment can be a game changer for the company. Centuro has been given a minor facelift for increasing the style appeal and the name has been given with a suitable touch 'Rockstar'.

Design and Style

Centuro Rockstar comes with signature golden ribs, which differentiate it from every bike present in its segment, thus making it a style statement. Following the same chassis, the bold body graphics easily marks all the differences from its predecessor. Use of chrome on the exhaust simply increases its beauty.

Instrument Console

Mahindra offers a mix of digital and analog meter for the bike with a well-managed arrangement of all the units in a single console. Analog speedometer and fuel indicator are to the right of the digital display which server all the other purposes of the rider.

Engine & Performance

Centuro family shares the same engine through every model which is a 106.7 cc single cylinder air-cooled Microchip ignited-5 curve, 4 stroke engine which produces a peak of 8.5 Bhp @ 7500 rpm and a torque of 8.5 Nm @ 5500 rpm. It is mated to a 4 speed manual gearbox.

Comfort while Riding

Mahindra has manufactured the Centuro family by taking care of all the basic needs of a rider. It has a standard seating position on which a person of any age can easily sit and the long seat provides an each sitting experience on longer rides also.

Mileage

Centuro bikes are pocket friendly as they return a mileage of 68-70 kmpl on highway and 60-62 kmpl on the hectic city roads.

Brakes and Suspension

Mahindra has used the most commonly used 130 mm drum brake combo for the front and rear wheels. The bike rides on a hydraulic, coil spring 5-step adjustable suspension which is a nice one for the rider's comfort level.

Ride and Handling

Thanks to the large 18 inch tyre size which provide a hassle free ride throughout the way, no matter how long it seems. Handling at higher speeds may sound difficult due to the drum brakes only.

Variants

Centuro Rockstar is available in two variants, one with self-start and the other with kick start.

Shades

Rockstar is available in a combination of black and red, with a golden stripe matching its golden rib structure.

Price

Centuro Rockstar kick start version is available for 42,950 INR and the self-start version can be availed in 45,250 INR.

Verdict

Making its mark in the two wheeler segment won't be easy for the Centuro but the features like remote flip key, anti-theft alarm and guide lamps can prove to be useful for its success.

I purchased Pantero in 2013 in Chennai and since purchase to till date, it is giving a lot of troubles. Very horrible bike and it is a curse to purchase this bike. I am told by the showroom people that Centuro too is having similar type of engine and other specifications except few. Therefore I request every one not to purchase the Centuro. For poor performance of Pantero, I am going to file a complaint against Mahindra in consumer forum. My email is kslnarain@gmail.com and contact no. 98814154888.

Not a Worthy Investment

Buying a bike was not an easy decision for me. I was quite confused while purchasing new bike so after long research I was planning to go with Mahindra Centuro. Looks and design wise, I am quite satisfied and happy with my motorcycle. Its elegant looks and whole muscular body looks great and it fully satisfy my needs. It has a comfortable pillion seat but needs more improvement specially for the rider. It offers a maximum speed of 105 kmph. The motorcycle does not vibrate up to 70 kmph but as you moves higher and cross 75+ kmph it starts vibrating. It is equipped with 18-inch wheels, it's ride and handling balance is terrific. If you are searching for a bike with a good mileage this bike is definitely not meant for you, and the engine also does not seem to give you a tension free ride in the long run, but the looks and features may attract you and another positive thing for the bike is it's pricing.

Best Features: Stylish & Economical

Pros: Economical, comfortable pillion seat, stylish

Cons: Vibration
