Latest Updates
Monday, 23 January 2023 07:00 PM KTM India has just added a new paint choice for the 250 Duke, named Ebony Black, to its lineup. The Dark Galvano trim is still available, and the pricing remains unchanged.
Saturday, 19 October 2024 12:56 AM KTM has introduced a new Ebony Black color for the 2024 250 Duke, adding to its existing color palette that includes Ceramic White, Electric Orange, and Atlantic Blue. The Ebony Black version features all blacked-out components, including the headlight, fuel tank, fenders, underbelly exhaust, and frame, with the signature orange color only visible on the tank extensions. This new color scheme is priced at Rs. 2.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). I think this new color gives the bike a sleek and aggressive look that will appeal to many riders.
Sunday, 13 October 2024 02:08 PM The 2024 KTM 250 Duke now comes with two selectable ride modes - Street and Track - which can be toggled via the new TFT display. In Track mode, the displays graphics change to a more race-focused layout, showing an enlarged rev counter, lap timer, and preferred rider aid settings. This addition, along with other updates like the new switchgear and LED DRLs, makes the bike more versatile for different riding conditions. I think this feature will be a hit among riders who enjoy both street and track riding.
Saturday, 12 October 2024 09:56 AM The 2024 KTM 250 Duke has been launched in India with several significant updates, including a 5-inch TFT display with app support, Bluetooth connectivity, and navigation. The bike also features new switchgear with a 4-way menu control and boomerang-shaped LED DRLs, similar to the 390 Duke. Mechanically, the bike remains unchanged with a 248cc, single-cylinder engine producing 30.5 hp and 25 Nm of torque. I believe these updates make the 250 Duke a more competitive and feature-rich option in its segment.
Saturday, 12 October 2024 08:16 AM Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India has overtaken Hero MotoCorp in sales for the month of September, with KTM also making significant moves in the market. However, KTMs recent focus has been on updating its models, such as the 250 Duke, which suggests the company is committed to offering advanced features and technology to its customers. I believe this competitive landscape will drive innovation and better options for bike enthusiasts in India.
Thursday, 10 October 2024 08:46 AM KTM has unveiled the updated 2024 250 Duke, which now includes features inspired by the 390 Duke, such as a new 5-inch color TFT display, updated switchgear, and two ride modes - Street and Track. The bike also features a new LED headlamp and retains its 248cc, single-cylinder engine with a six-speed gearbox and bi-directional quickshifter. The price has been bumped up to Rs. 2.41 lakh (ex-showroom) due to these upgrades. I think these changes enhance the riding experience and make the bike more appealing to enthusiasts.

KTM Duke 250 Review

22 Oct, 2024 12:00 AM

Overview

Introduction

KTM bikes are immensely popular among young buyers in India. The Austrian bike maker launched the 250 Duke in India in 2017 to fill the gap between 200 and 390. The bike sits in the middle of these two in terms of power, features and pricing. Continuing the KTM’s racing legacy, the bike made a prominent place in the Indian two-wheeler industry. The brand has made some tweaks to the bike in 2020. Let’s dive in to know all of its features and specifications.

KTM Duke 250 Design and Style

Built on KTM’s aggressive design language, the 250 Duke is a naked motorbike. The motorcycle's general design is similar to that of its elder sibling, the 390 Duke. The front profile has a sleek headlamp design with LED daytime running lights in the shape of a boomerang. The fuel tank is chiselled and has stylish extensions.

The exposed trellis frame lends the KTM 250 Duke a rugged appearance. The tail part also has a bolted frame painted in orange that looks fantastic. The side-mounted exhaust adds to the appearance of the motorbike. The tail section is stylish, thanks to the new LED taillight, split grip rails, and tail-tidy design. The black alloy wheels with orange stickers complement the entire appearance.

KTM Duke 250 Engine and Gearbox

Talking about power, this bike has a 249.07cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 4-stroke engine. This engine generates 31 hp power at 9,250 rpm and 25 Nm torque at 7,250 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission which provides a better computing experience.

KTM Duke 250 Brakes, Suspension and Tyres

In its front, 43mm WP USD forks have been given. At the same time, a 10-step adjustable WP mono-shock suspension has been given in its rear. Talking about braking features, a 320mm disc brake has been given in its front. At the same time, a 230mm disc brake has been given in its rear. The bike gets 17-inch alloy wheels with 110mm wide tires at the front and 150mm at the rear.

KTM Duke 250 Instrument Console

KTM has given a digital LCD instrument cluster in the new 250 Duke, which also offers navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. In addition to that, it also displays speedometer, tachometer, trip meter, odometer, clock, ABS light, LED indicator lights, fuel gauge, low fuel warning light, gear indicator, service reminder, low oil indicator, low battery indicator, gear shift light and engine check indicator.

Key Features of KTM Duke 250

New KTM 250 Duke gets features like USD Forks, Wide Tyres, Attractive Shades, Dual-Channel ABS to mention a few.

KTM Duke 250 Top Speed and Mileage

2024 KTM 250 Duke is good enough to sprint from 0-100 kmph in around 8.64 seconds. When it comes to the top speed and mileage of the motorcycle, you can expect it to reach 148 kmph along with around 30-35 kmpl of mileage under mixed riding conditions.

KTM Duke 250 Colour Options

At present, the New KTM 250 Duke street bike is available in 3 colour options in India -Ceramic White, Electric Orange, and Atlantic Blue.

KTM Duke 250 Price Range in India

The on-road pricing of the 2024 KTM Duke 250 in Delhi is Rs 2.77 lakh, Rs 2.86 lakh in Mumbai, Rs 2.80 lakh in Kolkata, and Rs 2.84 lakh in Chennai. The prices listed above are estimates; please contact your local KTM dealership for an actual on-road price quote in your city.

Ex-showroom Price & On-Road Price

Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). The On-Road Price, on the other hand, is the real amount you pay to the dealership to make the car roadworthy. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentages for the State Registration Charges.

KTM Duke 250 Competitors

At present, Yamaha FZS 25 and Suzuki Gixxer 250 are in competition with New KTM 250 Duke in the Indian market. Although both these bikes are cheaper than the 250 Duke, their torque and power output is less than the 250 Duke.

Verdict- Should You Buy it?

When it comes to power, the KTM 250 Duke’s torque and power outputs are the maxima and best figures in the 250cc segment. Apart from that, the appeal of this bike cannot be seen in any other 250cc segment bikes. The split headlamp and integrated DRLs are some plus points. The motorcycle comprises a good braking experience with a dual-channel ABS system and is all set in the department of safety and comfort. The bike comes in a sporty look and is a perfect buy for the youth.

The ground clearance of the KTM Duke 250 is 151 mm. This measurement refers to the distance between the lowest point of the bike (usually the undercarriage or exhaust) and the ground. This engine makes the 250 Adventure one of the smoothest KTM single-cylinder engines on sale. The 19-/17-inch wheel setup provides superior confidence when going over rough roads.

On the other hand, the KTM 250 Duke is perfect for those who are looking for something quick and convenient for everyday use. This bike has a much more relaxed motor and comfy suspension compared to other KTMs. It is powered by a 248.8 cc engine that generates a power of 30 PS @ 9000 rpm and a torque of 24 Nm @ 7500 rpm. Best 200cc Bike in India

Rahul PS | One year ago

Currently i bought a Duke 200 BS6 2 weeks ago and its a good decision to buy. I am driving between 55 and 65 and getting a mileage of 40.1 km/l currently which is a good one in this segment. The headlight visibility is good. Initial acceleration is also good. I recommend for Duke 200 and above version to use premium petrol as the compression rate is 11.3. Overall experience, I am totally satisfied with the bike. As on the cons side the ground clearance is really now especially when you are carrying an pillion rider, there is an high chance of hitting the lower part in the bumper.

Worst bike when it comes to maintainance

This review is based on personal experience. KTM Duke 200 is One of the worst bikes when it comes to maintenance. I feel I have spent the same amount on petrol and maintenance. For 15,000km Petrol = 36,000 (bike mileage 30km/LTR) Petrol price - 75 (AVG) Maintenance Service = 3 times x 3500 = 10500 (min) Fork oil seal replacement= 2500 Starter motor stator coil replacement =3500 Chain sprocket replacement= 3500 Oil seal replacement = 1500 Start on button replacement = 1200 Fuel sensor replacement= 1000 Clutch wire replacement = 200 Chain lubrication For every 500kms = 100 I.e for 15,000kms = 3000 Seat cover (because seat started cracking) = 800 Both tires = 7000 Total = 34,700 I can even show bill for all the things I have mentioned above. Bike is not designed for Indian roads. It's just an overpriced low quality bike.

1st of its kind !!

Had waited long, but ultimately had launched in India !! By going what's in the paper, it seems like it won't fall short in performance and will be a good investment!! Also not to mention, the waiting period for the Duke 390 is too bit longer as that of Duke 250 & 200,which will be available from 8th of March.

Best Features: TFT info screen, Slipper Clutch, Ride By Wire, LED Headlamps, Adjustable suspension arms !!

Pros: Overhauling design from the previous generation Duke 390. Looks will remain appealing for the coming 4 to 5 years.

Cons: The waiting period of the Duke 390 is more then 1 month after booking too. Price increases in different states, so have to go deep into pockets!!
