Our take on this /// Verdict
The Honda XRE 300 Adventure is a compelling option for those seeking a versatile and capable adventure bike in the Indian market. With its 291.6cc single-cylinder airoil-cooled engine producing 25.4PS at 7500rpm and 27Nm at 6000rpm, it offers a balance of power and torque that is more than adequate for both on-road and off-road adventures. The bikes long travel suspension, with 245mm front and 225mm rear wheel travel, coupled with its 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels wrapped in Metzeler Enduro 3 Sahara dual-purpose tyres, makes it well-suited for tackling various terrains. The ergonomic design, including an easy-to-reach handlebar and neutral footpeg position, ensures comfort during both city rides and stand-up trail riding. However, the bikes relatively small fuel tank capacity of 13.8 litres might be a concern for long-distance travelers. Overall, the XRE 300 Adventure is a solid choice for those who need a bike that can handle both urban commuting and adventurous off-road excursions.
Price
The Honda XRE 300 Adventure is expected to be priced around 2 lakh ex-showroom in India. When considering on-road prices, which include additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, the total cost could rise to approximately 2.3 to 2.5 lakh, depending on the state and local regulations. This pricing positions the XRE 300 Adventure competitively against other adventure bikes in the Indian market, such as the Royal Enfield Himalayan and the Hero XPulse 200 4V. While it may seem a bit pricey compared to some of its competitors, the XRE 300s robust build quality, advanced features, and off-road capabilities justify the investment for serious adventure enthusiasts.

Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 07:53 AM
The mileage of the Honda XRE 300 Adventure is estimated to be around 30 kmpl, which is respectable given its engine size and the type of riding it is designed for. This mileage is based on a combination of city and highway riding, as well as some off-road use. FAQs
Most Popular FAQs for Honda XRE 300 Adventure
-
Is the Honda XRE 300 a beginner adventure rider’s worst nightmare?
17 January 2025 06:28
The size and confidence of the rider make a difference. The XRE 300 could be perfect for taller beginners. The seat height could be chopped short, making it difficult for shorter riders.
-
On longer stretches of highway, how does the Honda XRE 300 fare compared to bigger adventure bikes?
17 January 2025 06:28
After hours on the highway, I love how nimble the XRE 300 feels in traffic. If you try lane splitting on a big ADV bike, you will understand why we like smaller bikes.
-
Which budget adventure touring option do you prefer, the Honda XRE 300 or the Royal Enfield Himalayan?
17 January 2025 06:28
On rough roads, the Himalayan feels more planted. The XRE 300 has shorter suspension travel, which doesn’t absorb bumps as well as that of its larger sibling.
-
Does the Honda XRE 300 have the chops for serious off-road riding, or is it a street-biased adventure bike?
17 January 2025 06:28
In my opinion, this is ideal for adventure riding, which includes both on- and off-road stages. It does neither of them very well, but manages to do both well enough.
-
Should you buy the Honda XRE 300 instead of the CRF300L Rally for long-distance adventure riding?
17 January 2025 06:28
For long-distance adventures, the XRE 300 is the way to go. It's a tank built, and it has better fuel efficiency. The ones I've taken, on multiple 1000+ mile trips, have worked out just fine.
