Honda CBR150R (2015)

About
The Honda CBR150R is a sports bike that stands out with its sleek design and robust performance. Powered by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke DOHC engine with 4 valves, it produces 17.6 bhp at 10,500 rpm and 12.7 Nm of torque at 8,500 rpm. The bike features a 6-speed manual gearbox and weighs 138 kg, making it agile and responsive. Its multi-layered fairings, Y-shaped headlamp, and short stubby exhaust contribute to its unique look. The bike is equipped with tube-type telescopic forks at the front and a tube-type monoshock at the rear, ensuring stable handling. Braking is handled by 276mm and 220mm discs at the front and rear, respectively. While it may have some minor issues like sluggish performance at lower RPMs and poor switchgear, the CBR150R remains a solid choice for riders seeking a balance of performance and comfort.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Honda CBR150R is a compelling option for those seeking a blend of performance, comfort, and practicality in the sports bike segment. While it may not excel in low-end torque, its high-revving engine, coupled with a smooth 6-speed gearbox, makes it a joy to ride, especially at higher RPMs. The bikes handling is commendable, with sharp steering and a stable chassis, although the hard compound tires can be a letdown. The braking system is robust, but the absence of ABS is a notable omission. Comfort is a strong point, with a riding posture that, although initially painful, becomes comfortable over time. However, the switchgear and service network are areas that need improvement. Overall, the CBR150R is a great choice for riders who value performance and comfort, but may need to overlook some minor drawbacks.
Price
The Honda CBR150R, when it was available in the Indian market around 2015, was priced competitively. The ex-showroom price typically ranged between 1.20 lakh to 1.30 lakh, depending on the region and any additional features. On-road prices, including registration, insurance, and other costs, would have been around 1.50 lakh to 1.60 lakh. While the bike is no longer in production, these prices give an idea of its value in the used bike market. As a pre-owned bike, prices can vary widely based on the condition, mileage, and location, but you can expect to pay anywhere from 80,000 to 1.20 lakh.

Tuesday, 04 August 2015 05:18 PM The absence of a pass light switch on the 2015 Honda CBR150R has been noted by some riders as a minor oversight, despite the bikes overall positive reception for its refined engine and handling. I think this is a feature that Honda should consider adding in future updates.

I bought a CBR 150R an year back. It's cool and I'm impressed with the performance. The silky smooth engine is one of the best points to be noticed. Everyone can simply compare the bike in city roads. The actual performance can be tested only after riding it for 100+ kms. Once you crossed the 100 kms, the performance of the bike seems to be roaring. The main point to be noticed is Engine Idling. When you start the bike every day, leave it for few minutes till it reaches 3 points in heat. Then you can feel the smoothness. Oil change and chain tight should be done at the right time to maintain the performance. I touched 137kmph at 10,500 RPM. May be we can get 140kmph @11,000RPM. I didn't tried. Long distance travelled in a day: 650kms. Cleared 21,000kms in 1year and no problems other than brake pads and sprocket. Maintenance free bike and best in class. Honda = Quality. Mileage varies: 32 to 35kmph in city and 35-40 kmph in highway. For more mileage maintain below 7000 RPM and for more feel maintain above 6000RPM. Gear shifting at 11,000RPM will gives enough power to compete with 200NS. I'm planning to go for 250R for better performance.

Best Features: Riding positon.

Pros: Power above 7000 RPM, style, colour,

Cons: Low torque, Build quality, Head light should be in fireblade style
