Hero Ignitor 125 Self Drum Alloy

About
The Hero Ignitor 125 Self Drum Alloy is a 125cc commuter bike that was launched in 2012, shortly after Hero MotoCorps separation from Honda. It is powered by a 124.7cc, air-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder SOHC engine that produces 10.9 bhp at 8000 rpm and 11 Nm of torque at 5000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. The bike features a mix of digital and analogue instruments, a sporty stepped seat, and a large fuel tank with a capacity of 9 liters. It comes with telescopic forks at the front and adjustable hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear, ensuring a comfortable ride. The Ignitor is available in five color options and offers optional disc brakes for the front wheel, while the rear wheel comes with standard drum brakes. Its light weight and upright seating position make it agile and fun to ride in urban traffic, making it a great choice for daily commuting.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hero Ignitor 125 Self Drum Alloy is a solid choice for those looking for a reliable and stylish commuter bike in the 125cc segment. While it is essentially a re-badged version of the Honda CBF Stunner, the Ignitor stands out with its enhanced styling, including redesigned body panels, new graphics, and a body-colored rear-view mirror. The bike offers a comfortable riding position, thanks to its upright seating and well-placed foot pegs and handlebars. The air-cooled, four-stroke, SOHC engine provides adequate power and torque, making it suitable for navigating through city traffic. However, the lack of an engine-kill switch and the absence of advanced safety features like ABS might be a drawback for some. Overall, its a great option for daily commuting, offering a blend of style, performance, and fuel efficiency.
Price
The Hero Ignitor 125 Self Drum Alloy was priced competitively in the Indian market. The ex-showroom price for the drum variant was around Rs 58,200, while the disc brake variant was priced at Rs 60,200. On-road prices would typically include additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, which could add another Rs 5,000 to Rs 7,000 to the ex-showroom price. This pricing makes the Ignitor an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers looking for a reliable 125cc commuter bike. However, its important to note that the Ignitor has been discontinued, so current prices would be relevant only for used or pre-owned models.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 05:57 PM The Hero Ignitor 125 Self Drum Alloy boasts impressive mileage figures, making it a cost-effective choice for daily commuting. According to ARAI, the bike offers a mileage of 55 kmpl, while real-world usage reports from owners suggest an average mileage of around 50 kmpl in city traffic and up to 60 kmpl on highways. This fuel efficiency, combined with its low maintenance costs, makes the Ignitor an excellent option for those concerned about running costs.

A Nice Machine With Stunning Looks

The Hero Ignitor is a stylish, semi-faired motorcycle which still grabs attention. The upright seating position and the wide handle makes it a good commuter bike. The tank is well placed and it offers good wind protection even at high speed. It looks like a 'Stunner' and in terms of performance also both are same to some extent but there are differences between them too. It is quite comfortable for rider but not for pillion rider. The seat is designed in such a way that you can hardly manage three persons. The disc brake at the front offers adequate stopping power and rear drum also performs its duty well. The engine is refined and smooth and offers good power and torque value. If we see the bike's comfort and sporty look, its price seems surprising. My friend thought that it is costly when I told him the real price he really appreciated it.

Best Features: Stylish & Sporty

Pros: Comfortable riding position, sport & youthful design, powerful engine, mileage

Cons: Pillion seat

The Hero Ignitor is a reliable commuter bike. It is an easy and comfortable bike to ride on with a small capacity and efficient engine. It offers an upright seating position and spacious pillion seat. The pillion comes with a grab holder and the seats quality is also excellent. Its engine is smooth and refined. Its pickup is fast and it a good bike for stress free ride. The mileage it returns is also excellent at 55-60 km/l depending on the driving style of rider. Look-wise, it is also impressive and can stand out in the crowd of commuter bikes. Overall, it is perfect from all aspects. If I have to suggest the seekers, I would strongly recommend this commuter bike over other like Honda Stunner or Splendor. Its a reliable yet stylish motorcycle one can own.

I have gone a distance of 800 km approximately with this bike.In short this bike is awesome. Best thing is its powerful engine. Sometimes I do race with some 200 or 220 cc bikes and I can manage to give them a though competition. Go for it guys..

Best Features: Stylish meter console

Pros: Mileage is quite good (50+ kmpl overall), sexy sound, comfortable ride, nice pick up and excellent engine

Cons: Fuel tank capacity should be increased

WHAT TO SAY ABOUT IT.?? ITS A CRISPY SPORTY BABY, WITH MUSCLES AND HIGH SPIRITS. THE FOLKS WILL FALL IN LOVE FOR ITS LOOKS. THE ONLY THING THAT DISAPPOINTS IS THE CITY MILEAGE. IT COULD HAVE BEEN A BIT MORE ECONOMIC. OVERALL ITS A COOL DUDE!

Best Features: THE FRONT COWL, THE MUSCULAR PETROL TANK, THE SPORTY HEADLIGHTS AND THE METER CONSOLES

Pros: THE BIKE IS AWESOME COMING TO ITS STYLISH LOOKS. ALSO THE METER CONSOLES ARE THE MASTER STROKES

Cons: I WISH YOU WENT A FEW KILOMETERS MORE PER LITRE, IN CITY

Every one...maximum of people from all the reviews of Ignitor commenting that this bike is a copy of Stunner...my view on Ignitor is really awesome (graphics,look)...yes some what similar to Stunner but I have CBZ Xtreme...again some what similar to Unicorn only but really an awesome bike...generally honda bikes do have starting problem and the spare parts configured in Hero bikes are much more stronger than Honda bikes and hero spare parts available in all most all service centers...

hello all of deepak , rahul where did you see this bike in showroom please tell i also waana buy this bike

rahul pathak

i saw in showroom bike look totally different from stunner it is unique and royal its hight is comfortable looks awesome it have kick so nice feature bike is smooth, pickup is less than stunner minor stunner 0-60 is 5.2 and ignitor 0-60 is 6 sec stunner will vibrate after 45 and ignitor doesn't vibrate on 55-60 because of overgear. ignitor will sure give u a nice mileage of 50-55 in city and smooth and awesome ride but price is minor high but hero is giving 40000 km and 3 year warranty and stunner giving 30000 km and 2 year warranty and it doeskin have kick. so this bike is worthy

pathikrit check the on road price 66k to 68k which is high for 125cc bike.

pathikrit sengupta

i completely disagree that the price is high... at the same time it cannot be compared with a japanese company 'honda'.. hero motocop has clearly mentioned that it is a commuter bike.. and a commuter bike price range is from 40000/- to 60000/-... and this bike is in the range.. amazing looks.. definitely different from 'honda' cbf stunner.. i wish hero ignitor achieves amazing success...

vikram yadav

very high price for just 125cc bike

due to in crease in petrol prices in India the companies should manufacture more fuel efficient bikes i.e more than 100,it also helps in decreasing pollution.

It would have been better if they would have left this bike with full cowling, right guys. . . Then, it would have made this bike look more sportier and the graphics they are leaving is good, and also the graphics of impulse is superb and very attractive. . .

Hero has launched Ignitor not because to increase its market but cos to give variety models in 125cc segment to their customers.. Ignitor is good bike look better than Stunner, Good mileage compare to stunner, and also its budget.. Good luck HMC..
