USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hero Electric Photon LP is a mixed bag when it comes to its overall performance and user experience. On the positive side, it offers a smooth ride, decent pickup, and a range of convenient features such as a digital instrument console, remote lock, anti-theft alarm, and regenerative braking. However, it falls short in several key areas. The top speed of 45 kmh, while adequate for city use, is not impressive, and the lack of quick charging capabilities, with a charging time of 6-8 hours, can be a significant inconvenience. Additionally, the throttle tuning needs improvement, as it can be jerky and difficult to manage in city traffic. Despite these drawbacks, the Photon LP remains a viable option for daily commuters due to its economical running costs and environmentally friendly nature. However, potential buyers should weigh these pros and cons carefully before making a decision.
Price
The Hero Electric Photon LP is priced at Rs 1.11 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. When you factor in the additional costs such as two-wheeler insurance, the on-road price in Delhi comes to around Rs 1,15,336. This pricing is competitive within the electric scooter segment, especially considering the features and performance it offers. However, its important to note that prices can vary slightly depending on the state and local taxes. For those looking for an affordable and eco-friendly commuting option, the Photon LPs price point is reasonable, but its crucial to compare it with other models like the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, and Ola S1 Pro to make an informed decision.
Latest Updates
Monday, 11 November 2024 04:01 AM Hero Electric has recently launched the Photon LP, a mid-variant in the Photon lineup, priced at Rs. 1.10 Lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). This variant comes with a 1.8 kW motor, a digital instrument cluster, and features like anti-theft alarm and low battery indicator. I think this pricing makes it a competitive option in the electric scooter market.
Sunday, 20 October 2024 04:31 PM The Hero Electric Photon LP is available in two colors: Black and Brown. It boasts a retro-styled design with a round headlight and aerodynamic styling, which enhances its ride quality. I believe the design will appeal to those looking for a classic yet modern electric scooter.
Sunday, 15 September 2024 12:41 PM Hero Electric has equipped the Photon LP with a VRLA 33 AH/48V battery, which provides a range of 90 km on a single charge. The scooter features two riding modes: Economy and Power, offering flexibility in terms of speed and range. I think this dual-mode feature is a significant advantage for daily commuters.
Sunday, 25 August 2024 04:05 AM The Hero Electric Photon LP comes with a robust braking system, including a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear, along with a combi brake system for enhanced safety. The suspension includes telescopic hydraulic forks and coil spring aided shock absorbers, ensuring a smooth ride. I believe this setup makes the scooter reliable for various road conditions.
Wednesday, 10 July 2024 07:26 PM Hero Electric presented the Photon e-scooter to the Ladakh police for patrolling duties, highlighting its reliability and performance in challenging terrains. This move underscores the scooters capability and durability. I think this is a great endorsement for the Photon LPs credibility.
Mileage
Monday, 18 November 2024 08:15 AM The Hero Electric Photon LP boasts a claimed range of 90 kilometers on a single charge, which is quite satisfactory for short to medium distance commuting. In real-world conditions, users have reported achieving close to the advertised range, especially when using the eco mode. The fuel economy is also commendable, with an estimated cost of around 6.25 paise per kilometer, making it an economical choice for daily use. However, the charging time of 6-8 hours can be a deterrent for those who need to use the scooter frequently or over longer distances. Despite this, the mileage and running costs make the Photon LP an attractive option for those with predictable and relatively short commuting needs. Great Electric Scooter That Offers Impressive Performance

Love Goyal | One year ago
helpful 0

The Hero Electric Photon is a great electric scooter that offers impressive performance. It's capable of reaching high speeds, and has plenty of torque for tackling city streets or highways. However, comfort is not the best when riding this scooter. The back seat lacks support, and the height might not be suitable for everyone. In addition, the side stand does not automatically go up when you're riding, which can cause the scooter to hit bumps and speed bumps.

Overall, the Hero Electric Photon is an excellent electric scooter with great performance, but it could be improved in terms of comfort and convenience.

I am extremely disappointed

Ashish Kumar Sharma | One year ago

I am extremely disappointed with the service provided by Hero Electric. I purchased a Hero Electric Photon scooter three months ago and the charger has already gone out of order. It has now been almost a month and the company still has not replaced it. The customer service and the dealer service are both very poor. I feel like I have wasted my money and the company is not taking any responsibility for the issue.

Relatively Long Charging Time of 6 to 8

Shiba Ansari | One year ago

It is expected that only short rides in the suburbs and occasionally around the city can be taken with a car with a maximum range of 65 to 80 km. This is mainly due to the relatively long charging time of 6 to 8 hours and the absence of a fast charge option for the bike and the infrastructure required for it. Owners must make their own arrangements for electrical outlets. This is fine if you are on a familiar route, but it creates a lot of uncertainty when in an unfamiliar location.

Prompt Reaction and No Flag Misfortune

Sujit Kuamr Verma | One year ago

The scooter also contains electronic regulators with 12 mosfets and a 24MHz fast controller, which gives the drivetrain a prompt reaction and no flag misfortune. The AGM VRLA battery in the Photon is explicitly intended for the most noticeably awful climatic conditions in India.

Limited Power Output

Gazal Singla | One year ago

Despite the limited power output, the main problem is that there is a lot of scope for improvement in the throttle tuning. Driving a scooter in city traffic is tough because even small amounts of throttle and carefully calculated openings lead to the scooter lurching forward sharply at low speeds. No matter how hard you try, the accelerator only has two possible settings: on and off.
