Recent news and announcements
Hero Electric has announced a new collaboration with RevFin to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles in India. This partnership aims to jointly finance and lease 2.50 lakh electric two-wheelers by 2025, targeting e-commerce, logistics, and fleet management firms. This move is expected to boost the sales of models like the Hero Electric Photon. I think this is a great step towards increasing EV adoption.
The Hero Electric Photon is now available in three colors: black, burgundy, and white. This electric scooter features a polycarbonate headlamp for clear night vision, front telescopic suspension, and a front disc brake, making it a practical choice for daily commuting. The Photon also comes with an anti-theft alarm for added security.
Hero Electric reported its best-ever calendar sales in 2022 for electric scooters, with the Photon being one of the key contributors to this success. The companys strong distribution and service network played a significant role in this achievement. I believe this milestone reflects the growing demand for electric vehicles in India.
The Hero Electric Photon is priced at Rs. 1.11 lakh (ex-showroom) and features a 1.9 kWh battery, allowing it to travel up to 108 km on a single charge. The scooter has two riding modes: Power and Economy, with the Economy mode offering a range of up to 80 km. The charging time is approximately 5 hours.
Hero Electric has emphasized the importance of regenerative braking in their Photon model, which converts kinetic energy into stored energy in the vehicle’s battery. This feature, along with combi brakes, enhances the scooters efficiency and safety. I think this technology is a significant advantage for electric scooters.
