USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hero Electric Optima LX (VRLA) is a mixed bag when it comes to overall performance and user experience. On the positive side, it offers a comfortable ride, thanks to its telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers, making it suitable for city commutes. The scooter also features a digital instrument cluster, USB port, and alloy wheels, which are commendable for its price segment. However, several users have reported issues with the battery life, particularly with the lead acid variant, which requires frequent replacements and has a longer charging time. Additionally, the build quality has been a point of contention, with some users complaining about the plastic bodys durability and the lack of shock absorption when using the brakes. Despite these drawbacks, the Optima LX remains a viable option for those seeking an affordable and eco-friendly mode of transportation, but potential buyers should be aware of the potential maintenance and reliability issues.
Price
The Hero Electric Optima LX (VRLA) was priced at around 67,440 before it was discontinued. However, prices can vary slightly depending on the region and any local incentives or subsidies available for electric vehicles. In terms of on-road costs, since this scooter does not require registration or a license, the additional expenses are minimal, mainly limited to insurance and any state-specific road taxes, which are generally lower for electric vehicles. This makes the Optima LX an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers looking to transition to an electric scooter.

I think these concerns are crucial for potential buyers to consider before investing in any electric vehicle.
Thursday, 15 August 2024 05:01 AM One of the notable features of the Hero Electric Optima LX (VRLA) was its dual battery options – lead acid and lithium-ion – which catered to different user needs. The lithium-ion variant offered a quicker charging time of four to five hours compared to the eight to ten hours for the lead acid version. I believe this flexibility was a significant selling point, but the lack of ongoing support diminishes its appeal.

Battery Issues

Within six months of purchase, I had to replace the battery of my hero bike twice. This is unacceptable and I feel the company should take measures to ensure the battery lasts at least one to two years or 10,000 km, or 500 charging cycles. Furthermore, the plastic body of the bike does not offer enough strength for the price. To top it off, the company does not respond to phone calls or emails. This indicates that Hero is an extremely mismanaged organization.

Should not buy

The quality of the material used in the scooter is very poor, and within a couple of months the joint of the seat breaks. Even the material used for children's toys is of higher quality. When you use the brakes, there is no shock absorption. The quality is extremely bad. In addition, there is no indication of the battery level. You should not even consider purchasing this scooter.
