General information and overview

The Honda CBR150R (Old Model) is a sports bike that stands out with its liquid-cooled, 149.4 cc DOHC engine, producing 17.6 BHP at 10,500 RPM and 12.66 Nm of torque at 8500 RPM. This engine is known for its refinement and high-revving capability, making it a joy to ride, especially at high RPMs. The bike features a diamond-type frame, ensuring good handling and stability, and it comes equipped with 17-inch alloys and either MRF Zapper-Q or TVS tyres, depending on the region. The design is sporty, with a full cowling and a sleek rear section, although it lacks some of the sporty character of its bigger siblings. The riding position is comfortable, with well-placed handlebars and foot pegs, although some riders may find the initial wrist pain due to the sporty posture. The bike also boasts a digital instrument cluster and good ground clearance of 190mm. Overall, the CBR150R is a well-rounded sports bike that offers a blend of performance, comfort, and practicality.

Our Verdict

Expert opinion and recommendation

The Honda CBR150R (Old Model) is a compelling option in the 150cc sports bike segment, especially for those who value performance, comfort, and a sporty design. While it may not be as sharp in handling as its rival, the Yamaha R15, it compensates with its refined DOHC engine, smooth 6-speed gearbox, and excellent ride quality. The bikes design, though simpler than some of its competitors, still looks well-proportioned and sporty. However, it has some drawbacks, such as subpar switch gear quality, the absence of an engine kill switch, and lower quality foot pegs. Despite these minor issues, the CBR150R remains a delightful ride, offering a great balance of power, comfort, and fuel efficiency. For riders who prioritize a smooth, high-revving engine and a comfortable riding posture, the CBR150R is a solid choice.

I bought CBR150r jazzy blue metallic on November 2016.
Trust me, the bike is butter smooth and even aggressive at high end RPM's. Comfortable, sporty and aggression filled, these three words define the character of my bike.

Awesome Machine to Ride

Summary

I find my CBR150R motorcycle beyond the expectations and it is worth of every single penny I spent. Riding the bike is so much fun and that's the reason I never get bored riding it
I find my CBR150R motorcycle beyond the expectations and it is worth of every single penny I spent. Riding the bike is so much fun and that's the reason I never get bored riding it even after 10 months. Yes, I felt pain in my wrists initially because I was not used to the sitting position but now I am comfortable. It returns me mileage of 40-42 kmpl from which I am satisfied. Like nothing is perfect, it too have some minor problems which I don't consider in front of its good features.

Good Choice For Bike Passioners

Summary

This bike is like that of a sports bike giving me good mileage, performance and handling.
This bike is like that of a sports bike giving me good mileage, performance and handling. Riding position is very comfortable and sporty. Quality of brakes and tyres are pretty good and gives me confidence in corners. Suspension is also doing its job well and it never lost the balance while passing through the bumps. It is quite light weight and has powerful headlamps which is quite helpful while riding in night. The build quality is also good and it's design is also very nice. The one thing that I am really disappointed is the weak switch gear which is directly taken from the CB Stunner. So are the foot pegs. Another issue is the price which might discourage some bikers looking for budget performance.

Should You Buy It?
After carrying so many features, CBR150R still feels shy in front of Yamaha R15. The latter is more popular and even more effective than the CBR.
Vehicle Overview
CBR150R offers the same design as the bigger 250cc CBR in India. It rivals Yamaha R15 in the Indian market while producing 18.28 BHP of impressive maximum power. It claims a low 12.66 Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Internationally, CBR150R now also rivals the recently launched Suzuki GSX-R150. CBR150R is temporarily not available in India and the updated model is expected to be launched in coming weeks.

Driving it for 8 months and i love it...... 1 Disadvantage Low Torque..... Lots of Advantages Smoother than any bikes out there.... awesome suspension...... no Vibration..... High speed 137kmph..... No other Sport bike can beat the mileage giving 45kmpl!!!! Well R15 can beat CBR in drag race but in the long run CBR owns R15..... comparing pulsar 220 &200ns with CBR? both pulsar bikes r jst vibrating machines at high speed both r not so comfortable at high speed..... i agree they hav more power... but they dont have the perfect finishing or quality like the Honda CBR.....
