Should You Buy It? | After carrying so many features, CBR150R still feels shy in front of Yamaha R15. The latter is more popular and even more effective than the CBR. |
Vehicle Overview | CBR150R offers the same design as the bigger 250cc CBR in India. It rivals Yamaha R15 in the Indian market while producing 18.28 BHP of impressive maximum power. It claims a low 12.66 Nm of torque and comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Internationally, CBR150R now also rivals the recently launched Suzuki GSX-R150. CBR150R is temporarily not available in India and the updated model is expected to be launched in coming weeks. |

Honda CBR150R (Old Model) Review
Design and Style
The CBR150R carries most of the looks of its elder sibling, CBR250R. If you are not aware of the different color schemes for both these bikes then you can’t differentiate between them on road. At least from front, it’s very hard to distinguish. The small CBR has the same Y shaped crystal clear headlight, visor and rear view mirrors similar to that of CBR250R. The black coloured alloy wheels and smaller front disk brake is also different in this bike.
Get to the side of this bike and then you can notice some more changes including different silencer and decals on its fairing. The bike looks well proportionate. It features a sporty full cowling which visually adds bulk to this bike. However this cowling is much simpler than the one used in R15 and may lack that sporty character. The rear section also resembles to the bigger CBR and looks much simpler than R15. The bike has no split seat and also features black coloured grab rails. The tail light looks neat and simple and the bike is not as high as R15.
Instrument Console
The instrument console of CBR150R features a combined analogue tachometer and digital speedometer, fuel gauge and odometer. The instrument console also has different LED indicators. The speedometer is not as big as we get to see in regular Bajaj and TVS bikes. The bike features orange back light.
Engine and Gearbox
This bike is powered by a single- cylinder, fuel injected 150cc water cooled engine. It’s a 4-stroke, DOHC, 4 valve engine which can churn out a maximum power output of 17.58 bhp at 10500 rpm with a maximum torque output of 12.66 Nm available at 8500 rpm. This engine is mated with a six speed manual gearbox with one gear down and five gears up-shift pattern.
Acceleration and Performance
As soon as you read the specifications, it’s not hard to get that you will have to rev this bike really hard to get the maximum power of this engine. The bike initially may not feel as swift and active as R15 due to three reasons which are its less torque output, DOHC engine and heavy weight. That’s why R15 is a second quicker than CBR150R in reaching 0-60km/hr. After this, the game changes as the high end performance of the DOHC engine used in Honda is much better than R15.
Despite being heavier, CBR 150R proves to be more enthusiastic than R15 as it takes just above 12 seconds to reach 0-100km/hour which makes it faster than its rival by one second. Being a DOHC engine, it tends to be refined and that shows when you can see yourself around 9000rpms without any vibrations. This engine feels extremely refined at high rpms and that helps you to achieve a top speed of around 130-132km/hr. Gear transitions are very smooth and gear ratios also feel well proportionate. Despite its less torque output, the bike still manages to impress you with its performance.
Mileage
Honda CBR150R can return mileage of around 30-35 kmpl in city and somewhere around 40-45 kmpl on the highways.
Comfort While Riding
The seating position of CBR150R may not be as sporty as R15 but it’s certainly more comfortable than its rival. The seat height (unloaded) in 793mm. The knees stick perfectly with the tank and you can find your feet resting on the foot pegs. Rider can easily reach to the clips on handle which allows you to get comfortable on this bike. Seat is placed relatively higher and offers you optimum comfort.
Suspension and Brakes
The suspension system of this bike offers you a very comfortable ride. Telescopic forks are doing duty at its front while mono shock absorber is placed at the back. The suspension of this bike sheds its weight and contributes to its high quality of performance. Undoubtedly, this bike has better braking system than R15 as it comes loaded with a bigger disc at its front. It features a 276mm disc at its front while there is a smaller 220mm disc at the back. The bike comes with no option of ABS as seen in its elder sibling.
Ride and Handling
CBR150R feels a bit stronger than R15 in this department. The heavy weight of this bike works in its favour and along with its suspension system; the bike feels more stable and grounded. Yes, its wheelbase of 1305mm is less than R15 and can be felt around sharp corners but its wider front tyre and high ground clearance of 190mm improves its handling. The bike deals easily with most of the potholes and with its high ground clearance, you need not to worry about the obstructions on road. Even off road, the bike performs really well and gives you a pleasant ride.
Verdict
Honda CBR150R is priced at INR 1,23,183. Honda has priced their bike a bit higher than its rival, R15 which can be its only setback. Other than this, CBR150R has everything, what it takes to be number one in its segment. The bike looks cool and different from others. Performance and handling is also very satisfactory. The bike seems to be a complete package and it’s perfect for those who are looking for exclusivity and want to stand out of the crowd. It’s definitely an attention seeker and in the upcoming time, it will be interesting to see that how our youth reacts to this baby CBR.

Great model and I am eagerly awaiting
The Honda CBR150R is a great model and I am eagerly awaiting the launch of the CBR150R Ex Motion. It looks like a little Harley Davidson, and I'm sure that it will be a winner in the market. I'm a bike lover and a marketing person and I use it for my daily long drives, so I'm looking forward to a 150 cc bike with minimum 45 kmpl and a price tag below 1.50 lakhs. Models like the Honda Unicorn 150, Yamaha FZ, Suzuki Gixxer etc. will be great options.
An ideal choice for those who want a sporty bike that can tackle everyday commutes
The Honda CBR150R is an ideal choice for those who want a sporty bike that can tackle everyday commutes. The bike has a stylish look and is equipped with a comfortable seat for both the rider and the pillion. The engine is powerful and offers a smooth ride. In addition to this, the bike is also fuel efficient. The overall performance makes it a great choice for both experienced and novice riders alike.
Definitely a unique bike
The Honda CBR150R is definitely a unique bike and has an aggressive look that resembles a 600cc bike. It looks fabulous and has a comfortable riding posture, so it's no wonder people are excited for its launch. It's a refined engine beast with great features, so I'm definitely waiting for it with anticipation!
Honda CBR150R is the best 150 cc bike in India
Trust me, the bike is butter smooth and even aggressive at high end RPM's. Comfortable, sporty and aggression filled, these three words define the character of my bike.
Best Features: Aggressive @ 9000RPM
Pros: Design, High end power, Mileage, Comfort
Cons: Bad switch gear, Low quality foot pegs
Awesome Machine to Ride
I find my CBR150R motorcycle beyond the expectations and it is worth of every single penny I spent. Riding the bike is so much fun and that's the reason I never get bored riding it even after 10 months. Yes, I felt pain in my wrists initially because I was not used to the sitting position but now I am comfortable. It returns me mileage of 40-42 kmpl from which I am satisfied. Like nothing is perfect, it too have some minor problems which I don't consider in front of its good features.
Best Features: Performance and Looks
Pros: Easy to handle, Styling, Performance, Riding posture
Cons: Costly, Old foot pegs, Bad switch gear, No ABS
Honda CBR150R (Old Model) Discussion
Cbr 150is the king of 150cc bike segment..though it has some cons, it is negligible in its overall performance..dont believe just test a ride & feel the comfort
Confused between cbr 150r vs r15s..
my height is 5.4inch...which one is perfect for me???
Dou you please tell me it contains ABS system
amazing engine and electronics, chassis and suspensions are a let down.
I heard the build quality and durability of CBR150r is far more better than pulsars if well maintained. Is it true?
I dont like cbr not having mileage ,mileage only 30 to 35 and but main thing bike have looks nd power but its cost is also high
I will prefer u Suzuki Gixxer Sf bcoz it is in looks nd give tough competition to cbr 150 nd i ve rode both bikes i will say For Gixxer Sf bcoz it also have mileage of 50 nd it is in good budget and both honda and suzuki are japan companies
Go for Gixxer Sf
im realy confuse by 250r, 150r and r15 pls tell me
How do we order Honda CBR 150R online? Can it be shipped to Saipan Northern Marianas Island? I really what to get one but it's hard to find any website that ships here.
I hv a cbr 150. Ofcourse it returns me wit a gud mileage, an instant pickup n evrythng i need. But its a shame on honda dat it doesnt hv an engine kill switch and a pass light key. The buttons, foot guards and break n clutch levers are of cheap qual. Resembles 2 splendor (buttons n foot guards). Feeling shame of purchasing such a fucking vehicle dat too by paying huge amount of money
Driving it for 8 months and i love it...... 1 Disadvantage Low Torque..... Lots of Advantages Smoother than any bikes out there.... awesome suspension...... no Vibration..... High speed 137kmph..... No other Sport bike can beat the mileage giving 45kmpl!!!! Well R15 can beat CBR in drag race but in the long run CBR owns R15..... comparing pulsar 220 &200ns with CBR? both pulsar bikes r jst vibrating machines at high speed both r not so comfortable at high speed..... i agree they hav more power... but they dont have the perfect finishing or quality like the Honda CBR.....
hey dudezz i myself own a apache rtr 180 i hav beaten 220f in drag bt if u c performance wise
1.Ninja 250r
2.Cbr 250r
3.Duke 200
4.Pulsar NS
5.Pulsar 220f
6.Yamaha r15
7.Cbr 150r
Bt Cbr 150r cn easily beatup Yamaha r15 ven it reachez higher rpmz no doubtly

Launch this baby CBR in Repsol paint.....It will rock
CBR is the best bike ever...I m owning it since 1month..
Good mailage, Best ride quality, Amazing top speed n much more...
come on bros, there's no need for a clash to this extend, i say no Indian two wheeler company (except mahindra cause its new to 2 wheeler market and unknown of technology) has their own invention in their best selling bikes like Apache, Pulsar and so on, cause Apache's engine is something which Suzuki shared with TVS and Pulsar's something which Kawasaki shared with Bajaj this is the same with Hero's CBZ from Honda. They might improve the CC and HP of the borrowed product but cant create a unique one. So what i say is go with the Inventors and not the dependent. All the previous tie-up's were broken and new tie-up's were on their way like Bajaj with KTM, TVS with Motorrad BMW, Hero with EBR(Eric buell Racing, usa) and so on and the same is going to continue. Have a clash for our own product and not for the borrowed, until let's be a happy dependent, happy pals...

nice bike

vvvczxxxxxxxxxx
sexy bikeeeeeeee
Peak power is at 10,500 rpm
Don't know why is this bike even getting sold??
Just because of the brand Honda or people are going full retard!
Also fuel economy sucks in this one and have heard rattling sound of the fairing which irritates while riding this bike.. Same as the cbr 250... Honda needs to resolve that issue to which they simply reply that fairing will always make sound as its made of fiber and is attached to cage made of iron!
The only honda bike i liked is Honda unicorn rest all sucks donkey balls!
this bike looks awesome but what about its milage
its better looking than pulsar 150
its much better than fz,in milege and in styleeeeeee
peeche ki taraf h lion wo plastic ki hahahah ...YESS YAMAHA ...NAD HONDA ALWAYS BETTER
pulsar is roaring on road its a king of road like lion in forest no one can beat it......
hink it must be available, just check it out in the nearest Honda Showroom. @Prateek Goyal, the top speed of both the above 2 bikes, Duke and 200NS is 136km/h but CBR150R has much more top speed than the two. The CBR is a sports bike and the Duke and NS are naked street bikes. The duke is one of the best bikes and the 200 NS (I haven't rode it to say how it is). There is no connection between the top speed and power, for example between, fz and rtr 180, there's difference in power but still fz goes up to 136km/h and rtr180 only 125km/h. So according to me, there is no connection between power and speed. If you want a nice sporty bike with an overall package, go for the CBR150R, it's the No.1, just GO FOR IT
