TVS Apache RTR (Old Model)

About
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is a well-rounded motorcycle that excels in various aspects. It is powered by a 197.8 cc oil-cooled motor that produces 19.77 hp of power and 18.1 Nm of torque, offering a smooth and refined power delivery with minimal vibrations. The bike features an all-digital instrument console, a telescopic fork, and a KYB monoshock at the rear, which together provide a comfortable ride and confident handling. The suspension setup is slightly on the stiffer side but remains comfortable for long city commutes and highway rides. With its muscular yet lean design, the Apache RTR 200 4V also stands out visually, making it a great option for those looking for a stylish and capable motorcycle. Additionally, features like ride modes (Urban, Rain, and Sport) and dual-channel ABS enhance its appeal, making it a solid choice in its segment.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, even in its older models, remains a compelling choice for those seeking a balanced blend of performance, comfort, and practicality. I was impressed by its all-round ability, from its eager low- and mid-range performance that makes urban commutes exciting, to its handling prowess that shines around corners. The addition of dual-channel ABS in later variants enhances safety, making it a more appealing purchase. While the five-speed gearbox could benefit from a sixth gear, especially on highways, the bikes overall package is hard to fault. It is a comfortable everyday motor that is happy staying in the low and mid-range, making it an excellent option for city riders and occasional highway users.
Price
The pricing of the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V in India has been competitive, with the base carburettor version starting at around Rs 89,215 ex-showroom in Delhi. The ABS variant, which I highly recommend for its added safety features, costs approximately Rs 1.10 lakh ex-showroom. On-road prices would typically include additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, pushing the total to around Rs 1.20 lakh to Rs 1.30 lakh for the ABS variant. Given the features and performance, the premium for the ABS version is well justified, making it a value-for-money package.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 10:29 PM When it comes to mileage, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V delivers reasonably well. In city conditions, it consistently returns fuel economy numbers in the range of 35 kmpl, while on highways, it can achieve over 40 kmpl. These figures are quite good considering the generous throttle openings and the bikes performance-oriented nature. This makes it a practical choice for daily commuting and occasional long rides, helping to keep running costs manageable.

I bought apache rtr 160 red. Black i feel lost among pulsar. Fuel economy is 55kmpl if speed not greater than 60. But its not for mileage, style and passion.
