With a top speed of over 90 kmph and a ground clearance of 165 mm, it is well-suited for Indian road conditions. USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The TVS Jive is a unique and innovative offering in the Indian two-wheeler market, particularly tailored for the daily commuter. What stands out is its semi-automatic transmission system, which eliminates the need for a clutch lever, making it incredibly convenient for navigating through heavy traffic. The T-Matic technology, along with the anti-stall mechanism, ensures a smooth and hassle-free riding experience. While it may not be the most powerful bike in its segment, its focus on comfort, ease of use, and fuel efficiency makes it an attractive option for those who prioritize practicality over performance. However, its reception was mixed, and it ultimately failed to gain the traction TVS had hoped for, largely because it was ahead of its time.
Price
The TVS Jive was priced competitively at around Rs 41,000 ex-showroom in Chennai. When considering the on-road price, you would need to add costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, which could push the price up to around Rs 50,000 to Rs 55,000, depending on the state and local regulations. Given its features and the convenience it offers, the price was reasonable, especially considering it was positioned as a premium offering in the 100-110cc segment. However, the premium pricing might have been a deterrent for some buyers who were accustomed to more traditional and cheaper options.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 11:29 PM The TVS Jive boasts impressive fuel efficiency, with claimed mileage figures ranging from 55 to 65 kmpl, depending on riding conditions. In real-world tests, it has been observed to deliver around 60 kmpl, which is quite commendable for a bike in its class. This makes it an excellent choice for daily commuters who are concerned about running costs and fuel efficiency.

MAXABOUT RATING AND OVERVIEW
Vehicle Overview TVS Jive was discontinued few years back due to lack of sales and poor customer response. It was nothing more than a restyled version of TVS Star City, which has been a popular moniker since last decade. It was powered by 109.7 cc, single cylinder engine that was good for 8.4 BHP at 7500 rpm and 8.3 Nm at 5500 rpm. The decline in its sales can even be due to the presence of most selling products like Hero Splendor, HD Deluxe and TVS Sport itself. The motorcycle carried a wet weight of 115 kg and claimed 90 kmph of top speed with single rider.

I bought Jive for my father three days back. He is very happy with the performance of this bike. Now it is giving mileage of 45-50 and Really a no tenson bike, because its engine never stops in heavy traffic unless you want. Jive can start running in any gear and its underseat storage provides u to carry small things.

I purchased tvs jive in june 2010. It is now giving mileage of only 40 KM per liter. Very poor performance. I purchased it from Santi tvs Show room Himayatnagar, Hyderabad and they are now paying no heed to my complaints. What can I do? Pls suggest..

I purchased TVS Jive during May,2010.  Since then I have been facing problem in driving and controlling the vehicle at 60 kmph.  I could not control the vehicle as there is no hand clutch.  I hope Hand clutch is also to be provided to the next batch and existing vehicles already purchased.  When compared with other company vehicles auto clutch is most disadvantageous.  I drove earlier TVS victor for 6 years.  To have auto start I purchased this vehicle.  I am in very bad position in handling the vehicle.

Hi bike lovers... TVS Jive is really a tension free bike and I feel like driving my Honda Civic triptronic car. Worth for money and tension free bike. Mileage solid 60 plus. Thx TVS.. Keep it up and suggest to implement all ur existing models with little modification like one touch neutral (as in Bullet). All the very best.

This vehicle is not up to the mark. The company has not cared for my pointing out the danger in the design. Like bullet, there should be a neutral lever whenever emergency occurs it should be releasable because in TVS Jive, when its in gear and engine stops in the middle of the road like petrol block or main to reserve fuel, it just judders and plants in the middle of the road. Vehicles coming from behind will just hit and you are dead. You can't move the vehicle forward without bringing it to neutral which will never occur in such a situation.
Hope the company provides an alternative.

Ravichan says: Jive bike is attractive. Really no tension bike. Mileage more than 70Kmpl when you maintain the speed between 35 and 45. Really enjoying the ride and an advantage of any gear start. The engine is smooth and noiseless. It's a family bike.

TVS has done a great job by thinking about those people who are the fresh learner of bikes and who feel discomfort to change the gears frequently in traffic-jams. keep it up.......
