Tata Curvv Interior Details Leak via Patent – Featuring a Head-Up Display

Tata Curvv test mules sighted in recent months have revealed a number of intriguing characteristics regarding the SUV. A design patent now reveals the presence of a head-up display unit. It will almost certainly be available with the manufacturing variant.

Curvv HUD display

It's encouraging to see Tata putting a lot of effort into giving Curvv a lot of features. While other small SUVs like the Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Kia Seltos already have head-up displays, a HUD will enable matching competencies. The Hyundai Creta, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor are among the vehicles without this capability.

The HUD unit is shown behind Curvv's steering wheel in the design patent. It will be a reflection-based HUD, with data shown on a glass panel with a specific design. The cost of a reflection-based HUD is low, and it doesn't need complicated calibration. A projection-based HUD, in contrast, is the other kind of HUD. A portion of the windscreen is specifically handled with this system so that it can function as a display screen. Either lasers or LED lights are used to display the information. Because projection-based HUD devices are more expensive, they are typically found in higher-end vehicles.

In addition to being more practical, a head-up display increases safety. The amount of times a motorist must take their eyes off the road is decreased because the HUD is always in their direct line of sight. Numerous data can be displayed by it, including RPM, speed, AC functionality, fuel efficiency, alerts for warnings, time, gear position, and turn-by-turn navigation. Additionally, HUD components can be modified to suit the tastes of the user.

Curvv – Expected features

The 5-seat arrangement and other characteristics are disclosed in the Tata design patent. On the dashboard is a sizable floating touchscreen information system. With the Nexon redesign, the steering wheel looks to be the new two-spoke model. Curvv most likely gets a special center console as well. There are more control switches and a rotary dial visible. The cupholders and storage area are located beyond that. The seat belts will have an adjustable height feature.

Curvv will have a wide range of high-end features because it is going into a very competitive market. It will have a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, an electric parking brake, a 360-degree surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control, and ventilated front seats. ADAS may be included in the package as well.

Tata Curvv performance

There will be ICE and electric drivetrains available for Curvv. Which version is released first is still up in the air. At this moment, there are no details available on the electric powertrain. Nonetheless, the SUV might have a 500 km range. The Nexon powertrain options may be used in Curvv's ICE versions. It comes with a 1.5-liter diesel engine and a 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine. Also available for Curvv is Tata's new 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine which produces 125 PS and 225 Nm.
