The five-seat choice is available in the higher Essence trim, so removing the third row does not make it the cheapest Tomahawk EV. Between the two Essence versions, the seven-seater costs Rs 50,000 more. Introductory pricing is limited; obtain a dated quotation confirming the variant and the price applicable to your booking.
BaaS: a lower entry price, not the whole cost
Under Battery-as-a-Service, the advertised entry price is Rs 13.99 lakh plus a separate Rs 4.90/km battery charge. At an illustrative 1,000km a month, that rate alone amounts to Rs 4,900 monthly, or Rs 58,800 over 12,000km. This arithmetic is not a complete ownership quote: charging, finance, insurance and the actual rental contract must be considered separately.
Ask about minimum billable kilometres, taxes, lender conditions, transfer rules and early exit before comparing BaaS with an outright purchase. Variant-wise BaaS prices have not been fully disclosed in the launch details. A low advertised entry figure cannot by itself establish which option will cost less over your ownership period.
Battery, range and charging explained
Battery: 69.2kWh.
Motor: 150kW and 310Nm, driving the front wheels.
Range: 517km claimed on the MIDC test cycle.
DC charging: up to 90kW; claimed 30–80 percent in about 35 minutes.
AC charging: claimed 10–100 percent in around 12.5 hours using 7.4kW.
The 517km figure is a certification-cycle claim, not an independently measured highway result. Speed, climate control, passenger load, weather and the chosen reserve can change usable trip distance. Likewise, 90kW is a supported peak rather than a promise of constant power throughout a charging session.

Family use and equipment
The launch equipment list includes a 15.6-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch driver display, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and connected-car functions. Six airbags are standard; the range also offers Level 2 driver assistance and a surround-view camera. Confirm the exact equipment on your chosen trim, and remember that driver assistance does not replace attention or control.
The five-seat version has a quoted 610-litre boot. Seven-seat models quote 192 litres with all rows in place and 528 litres with the third row folded. These configurations answer different needs: carrying seven people and carrying their holiday luggage are not the same test.
What to check before booking
Try the third row with the adults or children who will actually use it.
Test luggage space with the seating layout you expect to keep.
Confirm home-charger installation, parking access and the electricity supply required.
Compare a complete outright quote with a written BaaS illustration using your annual distance.
Check warranty eligibility, transferability and delivery timing in the purchase documents.
Is it worth waiting for a road test?
If highway range, ride comfort or third-row usability will determine your purchase, an independent drive is worth more than another specification comparison. The Hector Tomahawk EV's immediate appeal is the choice of family seating and ownership routes; the decisive next step is matching those options to your real charging access and travel pattern.
