So how do the Amo Mobility Jaunty Pro's 'smart' features fare compared to the competition?

I have been using the GPS tracking on my Jaunty Pro as a saviour. The other time I forgot where I parked in a crowded area, the app took me right to it. For me alone, that makes the smart features worth it.

Honestly, I find most of the smart features just more trouble than they’re worth. The app is buggy, and I can’t connect to it. I'd rather have a good basic scooter than a crappy smart one.

The smart features on the Jaunty Pro feel a bit half baked compared to my friend’s Ather. But they work, they just don't work smoothly or intuitively. They need to beef up their software game.

I actually like that the smart features aren’t too in your face. They’re there whenever you need them, but you don’t have to fiddle with an app or touchscreen all the time if you don’t want to.

Digital cluster is pretty neat, if only a bit more customizable. I wish I could change the layout or add widgets like some of the higher end scooters.

At the price point, I think the smart features are fair. Of course, these aren't the top of the line, but they do offer some nice convenience without killing your wallet.

Updates have improved the smart features I've noticed. It’s promising that Amo seems to be listening to feedback. If they continue on this path, the Jaunty Pro could really be a smart scooter contender.
Is Bajaj's TecPac subscription model for the Chetak Urbane a smart move or a deal breaker?

That's a total deal breaker for me. I’m not goin’ to pay extra for features that come standard on an electric scooter.

I believe it's quite clever actually. This keeps the base price down for budget conscious buyers while still allowing premium features for those who want them.

This is a slippery slope. Today it's the brakes, tomorrow it's reverse mode. Where does it end?

I'm on the fence. It's annoying, but if it means a lower upfront cost it may make EVs more accessible to more people.

It's not ideal, but let's be honest – most people probably wouldn't use those features anyway. I'd rather pay upfront, save money.

This is just the beginning. We’ll soon be paying subscriptions for everything in our vehicles. It's a dystopian future.

I actually don't mind it. It's picking from different trim levels, just stretched out over time instead of all in one shot.

It's a hard no from me. I want to own my vehicle outright, not pay for a feature that the manufacturer rents to me.
Is BYD's decision to focus on practicality over style in the e6 a smart long term strategy or a marketing misstep?
02 January 2025 06:35
I believe BYD is still playing the long game here. As EVs become more standard, it won’t be about novelty anymore — it’ll be about practicality. That shift is positioned perfectly for the e6.
Is BYD's decision to focus on practicality over style in the e6 a smart long term strategy or a marketing misstep?
02 January 2025 06:35
It's a total misfire. For many buyers, EVs are still a status symbol, and the e6 just doesn't cut it. A huge market of people who want their car to make a statement are missing out.
Is BYD's decision to focus on practicality over style in the e6 a smart long term strategy or a marketing misstep?
02 January 2025 06:35
I know what BYD is doing from owning both flashy and practical cars. The market is real for no nonsense EV's that just get the job done without all the bells and whistles.
Is BYD's decision to focus on practicality over style in the e6 a smart long term strategy or a marketing misstep?
02 January 2025 06:35
I think it's smart. Take Toyota for example, they’ve made a business out of building reliable, practical cars. Is BYD positioning themselves as the Toyota of EVs?
Is BYD's decision to focus on practicality over style in the e6 a smart long term strategy or a marketing misstep?

But it's an extremely risky strategy. With more people taking to EVs, the market will become mature, and practicality will matter more. It’s just what BYD is ahead of the curve.
