Is the Marazzo's body on frame with front wheel drive a smart compromise, or a weird halfway house?

The Marazzo is built around an unusual combination of a body on frame construction (common on rugged SUVs and pickups) and a front wheel drive layout (typically used on cars and crossovers). Mahindra says this provides it with the toughness of an SUV with the comfort and efficiency of a car like MPV. Automotive enthusiasts have been debating this unique approach. It's been praised as innovative engineering that combines the best of both worlds, but others say it's a weird compromise that doesn't fully exploit the advantages of either design. It often discusses how this impacts the Marazzo’s driving dynamics, long term durability and how it sits in the market between traditional MPV’s and more rugged SUV based people movers. The idea has also led to discussions about how this approach might be implemented for other vehicle types or if it is just a niche solution for the Indian market.

I think it's pretty clever. The durability you get for rough roads is without giving up too much on comfort and handling. Ideal for Indian conditions where you need a bit of everything.
